Definitely ambitious but talking to some locals I favor their odds. Heck even if they only added some canopies and climate controlled classrooms from this point it'd already be close to the top of the class for typical track day circuits.
@@LapoftheWorld What they already have is top notch, as long as they get the paddock sorted. But looking at the complete layout they proposed makes me imagine all sorts of events they could be able to host in the future. Not only the ability to run two separate track day sessions at the same time, but also hosting Thunderhill-esque megalap events with the full layout. Hell, with this much money and effort being put into the project, they might eventually even attract international attention and be able to host official championship races. Only time will tell.
@@TrolledBy I'm told (unconfirmed) that they are seeking at least some level of FIA approval. Probably not F1 but could open it up to some other higher level sportscar series etc.
Great video on a fairly flat track with nothing to run into. What a development to build a town and airport plus the longer track will hopefully allow the faster cars to run out in top gear. By the way did you meet the Japan NSX Club secretary, Mr. Hirofumi at the nsxpo?

Somewhere back in the catalog I have some recorded laps from there including under the lights on the "Roval". It was before I was doing full-production videos though. If we're back there for an event though I'll pick it up as a feature for sure!

That is quite an ambitious project, but the end result looks amazing (on paper at least). I'm really interested in following how this will turn out.

@@LapoftheWorld Good to know! I'm hoping for at least grade 2 approval for WTCC or similar events. F1 is very doubtful, but Indycar is a possibility.
