Have been wanting to watch a video of this S2000 on track. I’m sure it’s fast, but I think a big part of the S2000 experience is the sound of the engine, and this engine is not only quiet, it also doesn’t sound good.
You're not wrong at all, and I agree the F series engines sound better even stock. Keep in mind however this car has a 100% stock AP2 exhaust and a stock tiny turbo. With a less restrictive exhaust and bigger turbo it should make some great noises. My freind Ravi Tomerlin has some videos up with his K20C1 swapped NSX that has an upgraded turbo you can check out for a more visceral experience.
This still looks fun and definitely fast. From a fun perspective, I'm more concerned with how pushy/understeery it looks than the drivetrain. Is the gearing still original? I love the idea of this swap except for the cost, non-OBD road legal compliance, and gearing.
@@jub07 The understeer really isn't related to the swap at all, this car had a huge stagger on the wheels/tires. I think it had something like a 235 front and 275 rear, it doesn't have much setup time for handling... this was just to make sure the engine is running well. The gearing is still stock AP2 trans and differential, so the gearing is very short. The easiest way is to put a much longer final drive, with the huge torque it makes it would still be plenty fast.
Awesome! Love the stock exhaust setup, what a perfect daily/racecar

Not to mention the high revving nature and response of a S2000
