We do have it here :) It is just primarily a Jewish holiday bread. There are places in East and North Sydney where they sell it in bakeries. You should give it a shot.
@Merly3333, while challah is enjoyed on various holidays, it's definitely a year-round food! My family would have it once a week for Friday night dinner, and everyone deserves to experience the wonder that is challah French toast

Eco lifestyle is a highly underrated pack! People should use its content more often! Builders STILL haven't added a lot of community-transforming lots to the gallery! James should make a ton and upload them! :D
@TheOG-GG My hunch is a lot of people still don't quite understand how the whole "community transformation" thing works, since it isn't really visually distinct outside of Evergreen Harbor.
@@TheOG-GG Agreed. It's one of my favorites. The gameplay is great, love build mode and the craftable items. And I always use the community action plans no matter which world I'm playing in.

I think using RVSN filthy fabulous spray to restore furniture is fair play, but all dumpster furniture has to go in the units Laird rents out.

@@itsspelledgiulia1203 you can always add them from the gallery. It doesnt even have to be one of the existing sims 4 Landgraabs, Malcolm from the sims 2 for example is a different Malcom than the one we have in game
This would especially work for the landlord theme since in sims 2 the lore for the landgraab family was they basically owned half the town!

For your sanity, I think you should change the shower to the one from the university pack. That way you can clean the mould without moving the shower if it spawns there.
Also I've found that selling the holiday turkey dinner gets a lot of money (like 120 simoleons per plate at 300% markup and theres 12 plates)

I think eco lifestyle compliments 4 rent really well. A lot of the activities in eco promote the community involvement aspects of 4 rent. There is no problem incorporating other packs into the new pack gameplay!
After spending 462 days tweeting at the sims to add challah (pronounced “ha la”) and matzah ball soup to the game this fills my heart with so much joy. Thank you. ❤

@@tabytastick Hebrew is a really interesting language. There are silent letters and instead of having vowels as their own letters they are markings (for lack of a better word) that you put on letters.

With your gardening, I'd say grow food ingredients to level it up so you can use them for your cooking. That way your gardening skills will still be useful, but not overpowered or just clogging up your inventory.
The landlord didn't fix the selling table cause Laird didn't have a permit to sell there. Not covered by insurance! 😂
I recently tried the food stall with a spellcaster sim who could summon food at will. Sure, it almost killed my sim but it was pure profit!
Can you imagine someone taking all their clothes off in the rain, taking a pee and then showering, then redressing to set up and try to sell a food at a food stand 😂

The grand meals from seasons are ridiculously OP on the food stand. You can cook 12 servings of turkey for $75 and sell each for $100 with no markup. They also sometimes buy the whole platter for +$1000! It’s amazing!
Note: For some reason, it seems to work better with the $75 grand meals.
i think the mold keeps spawning under the shower because you're using bbmoveobjects to place the shower, maybe if you got rid of the windows and place the showers normally it would fix it
I think its actually the doors overlapping with the showers, not the windows
My thoughts as well, I have noticed puddles form under showers too if moveobjects is on so prob same mechanic... I wonder if you'd get around it by using the university shower instead...?🤔

I think it might be a bug because I have to use the move objects cheat to place any furniture and I have to type it in again everytime I reopen build mode. Not sure what that's about.
@@SupernatasticDo you have the better build/buy mod? It might be that! I was running into the same problem when I was typing it in, but then realized there was an option to click it on and off in the "filter items" area on the right. Solved the problem!

Thanks, now I want a bunch of T-shirts with little "doin'" activity texts on them. Sleepin', gamin', workin', travellin', cookin', watchin', eatin' etc 😂.
When I played with the selling table, I set the “rule” I could increase the mark up percentage when I levelled up in cooking. So maybe level 10 is 300%, and then work out the other intervals from there.

I noticed my sim's bladder needs went up when showering in rain, so think it may be a bug.
I think I remember in Sims 2, any Sim could pee in the shower if you told them to. It was really handy and a time-saver.
Yeah adult sims can pee when showering in the rain. So handy! 😄
You can put a lunchbox in your inventory and put all the food into the lunchbox, it works like a mini frige.
I have never been able to put food into the lunchboxes. I can only ever get quick meals from the lunchboxes.
I have only ever tried to click and drag it in. Is there a way for the sim the pack the lunchbox with food?
@tabytastick, I actually never tried it before 😅 but I think that the description said it works like a fridge.
@@tabytastick you’re right. It works like a cooler, which you also can’t store anything in. The best way is to put the food in the table (not on) and put the table in your inventory
@kw6033 That's disappointing. I wish they'd update the coolers and lunchboxes to be Off-the-Grid only fridges. But then I guess the picnic baskets from Cottage Living (which function more like the selling table inventory) and the brown paper bags from Parenthood wouldn't be as good. (Although, frankly, I stopped using the bag food option because it was buggy for such a long time and everything takes so dang long in this game that what would otherwise be a cute bit of realism of taking the food in and out of the little bags is somewhat annoying and doesn't even include a nice animation.) I really hope they just freaking add all of these options into one pack or the base game for Sims 5 because it becomes an inconvenient nightmare really fast when most of it doesn't function in the most useful manner.
I love the chaos of the early part of these lets plays so much. I also really hope that at some point Sandalwood wolfs out and runs crazily all over the shared spaces and beyond.

You might want to make Laird like cooking since she’s going to be doing a lot of it. I also think if you have her sell some of the random stuff she crafts or dumpster dives specifically at the night market it would feel less like eco lifestyle and more like 4 rent. Since at least it’s world specific.
When your sim is low on fun you can do the blick block dance & embrace cringe over & over & your fun goes up pretty fast! Love your LP’s! Also, you should bring back the funny intros! Loved them from your last LP!
in all fairness, toxic mold building up underneath the shower in a badly maintained apartment building is kind of realistic
Lady joined that cosplay club that Ash invited her to at the end of the last let’s play. They were the only members. I bet they keep showing up as a club outing
I actually really like the Eco Lifestyle and Home Chef Hustle parts of this let's play! It's similar to how I play a lot of my own rags-to-riches sims, and it just makes sense that Laird is combining a bunch of odd jobs to scrape together the money to buy her own rental property! Being poor and a renter is legit really hard, and everything going "wrong" in this LP in my mind just reflects that. Keep up the awesome work, and don't let the haters get you down! :D

By the way incase you never noticed- a simple way to help with low fun that doesn’t feel cheaty (like the bike 😂) is to have the sims practice singing once to unlock their singing skill and then they can “sing in the shower” rather than take a normal one and it bumps their fun up a bit while they get clean. You don’t need to take them to a microphone or anything, “practice singing” is an option when you click right on your sim.
Never watched a single sims let’s play until your rags to ranches and I just love them. They’re so fun to watch 😂

In my experience, the best place to sell food with the selling table is at the Finchwick fair - I always sell out very fast because they tend to buy all servings in one purchase. However it works best with the pack appliances (pizza oven and waffle maker). 😊

Since gardening is a requirement for Laird's job, i think it would be fair to do some gardening to make money. At the very least she can sell the flowers she planted.

Whenever a random townie starts using something I had planned on using, I just use my cheats to reset them and it knocks them off of whatever they're using. I'm like "No! That's mine!" lol
I think zero makes a mod that lets you make things like selling tables locked like a computer would be so NPCs can’t use them like that random dude did
i wish Wren would move in with Laird once she earns enough money to buy her first building and they both can help keeping up the apartments. in the meantime Laird can earn some money playing piano or violin since she loved it so much as a kid! loving these series 🖤
You can store the selling table in your inventory with all the food in it and then just pop it out as needed. And you don't need to clear the table every time before you store it, in fact it's better not to do that! The table operates like a fridge so it stays fresh. It just can't be stored with appliances on it. (It killed me every time you cleared the table)
Sandalwood is SO SASSY!!! I love them so much!! You should totally play as them sometime, live their life, let them fall in love, and have an heir!! SIDE QUEST!! 😉

I think the mould keeps spawning under the shower because it’s only technically a two tile room and it wants to spawn in the room of the shower. Also!! Because we love the McGlorbins so much, maybe we should think about marrying into the family down the track. 🤣 Glames would be perfect.
James checking the mini fridges while the selling table is already refrigerated made me laugh. I swear, everyone seems to miss that the time the food stays fresh in this table, is the same as it is in the fridge ! (because of the cooler on the bottom right.)
Idea for once Laird owns a building... I find that Eco Lifestyle integrates really well with this expansion, and so in my own gameplay, I'm doing a Rags to Rentals game where I can only furnish my rental units with furniture that I get from dumpster diving that isn't burnt - I'm not allowed to purchase any furniture via the catalogue that I can find in a dumpster, only items like lights that you can't get by dumpster diving. It adds more of a challenge to the gameplay and could be something that Laird maybe does when she first starts out with her own building, since she loves dumpster diving already (haha)

I’ve been wanting to for over a year, finding a reliable place to release merch with consistent quality is the hard part. The tshirts on the website I’m using for this one I’ve found are nice quality, but the other products I tried were really hit or miss.
I want any actual merch to be really consistent in quality for you guys.

Just a heads up! Challah is pronounced with an H sound. It’s written Ch because you’re supposed to also do the back of your throat about to spit sound with the H, but a lot of people can’t pronounce it so just the H is fine
It's not pronounced H. Ch/Kh is the inadequate transliteration of the Hebrew letter ח

Get the woodworking table, buy the regular selling table as well or use the one at the market place, and branch out by selling the wood carving figurines on there (plus make all of the furniture that you can for that second apartment in the renovating apartment building.) You could also go on vacation in Grantie Falls and learn the cute reindeer carving and then go to Salvadorada to learn their recipes. All of those might not be worth much, IDK, but it'd give you something else to do if you wanted to bump up the price on the selling table and not feel like you're cheating too much. After all, you'd be selling them unique stuff! I mean, you need to earn a lot in a short amount of time and you want to struggle but you don't want to make it too easy and that's one way to do it if you're willing to spend time on that. I think you should also force yourself to replace anything the Landlord can't actually replace like the grill if you do up the prices on the selling table. And maybe check if there's a mod to fix the tenants from making white cakes like the Foodie NAP? You don't have any NAPS on but they're doing that now for some reason, when in the alpha test they completed multiple other dishes. It's great that you're feeding them and selling them food, so they definitely won't starve, but it's really annoying the NAP coding seems to override the normal coding (that seems like a bug to me!)
I actually like this mixed pack playstyle, it gives me inspiration for my own playthroughs. 😊
