Great video with new and fail ohm readings to compare my sensors to. Exactly the information I was looking for!
Great video on the wear sensor...definitely helps to know what those Ohm out at when troubleshooting. How many miles have you been getting on your brake pads? Rotors?
that is real scientific explanation.. tank you
Hello, interesting video, thank you, I just want to ask, is it necessary to reset the electronics or if all the sensors are in order, the light goes out
Nice video! Of course thumbs up!
Hi. Can you reuse the sensor once the pads are replaced?
So when you put new brake pads on the front did you put new rotors also
Do you know how to reset the light?
im eyeing akebono ceramic pads, is it adviceable to get one? im living in NYC tho
Having the same check break wear light, despite replacing both rotar and pads in the front. Is there away to reset using a tool. Going to the same mechanic to see what happens
I have a "Check Brake Wear" message in the display. But the pads are almost new. There are no brake wear sensors on this vehicle. Any ideas what can trig this message? Its a W204, C200 CDI.
How do you reset the light on the dashboard? I replaced the sensor and the brake pads, but the lights on dash still on.
nice...............thank you chief
I replace Rotors and Pads and received error still. Replace both brake pad sensors again with Mercedes brand sensors and error has not went away. Removed and cleaned where they plug in and still no luck. Does anyone have any ideas where to look next. 2007 E550 4Matic. Thank you!
Can you just remove the sensor if you replaced the pads and it’s still giving the error? I could care less about a sensor
Great video, but as a former sparky, I feel it's my responsibility to say that you were measuring 130,000 ohms across the old sensor, not 130 ohms (see the "k" on the meter). Both would indicate a bad sensor, but I doubt you'd ever see a bad sensor that's less than many thousand ohms.
My brake light wear just popped up. How long do you think i can drive?
Honestly depends. If I remember correctly, the sensor in the rear is in the inside pad and the sensor in the front is in the outside pad. I would at least get it looked at in the next 1000 miles
Nice i just did my aux battery 2 weeks ago after getting the aux battery malfunction on the dash it was annoying but dint affect nothing
Nice! May be worth doing a video on that as these cars age
@@TheDurbinCompound I just did a diamond grill swap also lol took me 2 hours but came out perfect and I removed the front bumper I had to
Right so both front and rear brake pads are around 7mms thick which is well within specification. I'm trying to turn the light off and not waste money on something the car doesn't currently need.
How did you turn it off? Could you please tell me.😊
How much for new break pad ?
How do you reset the light once changing these sensors? Or is it supposed to clear itself?
You have to have it factory reset if you didn’t go through the pad replacement mode in the dash settings
I had my pads changed but my sensor was never change. Could this stop the vehicle from driving ? yess my brake pad wear sign was still on.
This sensor has nothing to do with stoping the vehicle from driving. It is only an indicator of low brake pads. It only controls the warning on the dash.
I replaced all of my brakes and reconnected new sensors and installed them all correctly yet it still gives me the light.
got a fix for it?
Is the sensor sold separately
Yes. It is! And it’s super cheap

no fluke meter ? 🤔
devil dog, working on my wife's GLC 43 AMG, same issue, I did the fronts, how can i by-pass it, for the rear, just got an appt to get it inspected.
If you really want to disable the sensor. You can splice the wires at the connector together.
thanks for showing us brake wear means on the dash
😷🍻🍺
Can you put any brakes on a Benz or do they have to be from Mercedes... Also are calipers expensive?
Female pins and the wire goes directly in them
Any plans on modding your car?
Not while it’s under warranty
