I have a 2024 Nissan Versa S 5MT and some folks out there think it is a very small car for today's roads but previous generations civics used to be that small and even smaller in the 90s.
A lot of people don’t have any idea what they’re talking about regarding the 1.5t. I had ‘21 hatchback sport manual with the 1.5t and had zero issues. Zero. And I tuned it for +9 psi with Hondata which made it even more awesome to drive. I did start to want an LSD with that added power but in most dry conditions it was perfectly fine. People need to educate themselves by actually driving this platform rather than trying to sound like “experts” behind a keyboard.
It's a great car. We've owned 4, the last being an 18. We're done buying them, though. It's had basically the same hp for about 20 years! The new Civic hybrid is quicker. Next time, we'll just buy one of those!
Not according to the dyno measuring the power at the wheels, it also have more torque vs previous cars but hay its your money you are free to buy what you want to drive.
Unfortunately you can’t get a roof rack for them other than that it’s a nice hatchback 😊cheers from Oz 🇦🇺 we only get the hybrid and the top spec hard core version which is extremely stiff to drive as a daily on Oz crap rd,S
I'm still upset that the Si has been diluted for the sole purpose of giving the Integra a reason to exist. At least we aren't getting the trash tier poverty version in the US anymore.
Pretty shocking as knowledgeable and experienced as you are, you fail to mention the 'profound' rev hang of this powerplant at upper RPM range where enthusiasts like the spend time driving this small displacement Honda. For many performance fans looking for a good car on a budget, this will be a disqualifier and yet you didn't say a single thing about it. I do agree with you the overall car is excellent but the rev hang is a pretty big deal. This automotive engineer's perspective. PS. honorable mention to the Si not being available in a hatchback which most would prefer as well including aesthetic preference...the Civic hatchback looks better in both Type R and Touring models.
Let’s break it all down. I spent a few years winning countless races in a Civic Si powered by an engine finished with a featherweight flywheel, so I’m intimately familiar with the other extreme. With this latest Civic Si, the well know rev hang doesn’t bother me in the least. For those moments rev hang appears, I adapt my driving style accordingly. Annoying, sure, but it’s certainly not enough of a problem to strike this car off my recommended sport compact car list. For those who consider this to be a fatal flaw, I say be a better driver.
@@grouchyoldperson3051 You failed to mention that the rev hang in this vehicle is not as bad as the last generation Civic Si. Also, like the this car reviewer said. Be a better driver and what also helped is putting the brand of fuel that works well with the vehicle. That definately helps with the rev hang. How do I know? Oh that's right, I own a 2023 Civic Si. I tried 92 octane from 76, Arco, Chevron and Shell. The 92 octane from Shell made my driving smoother whether I'm in Normal mode or Sport mode. Also frequent oil changes definately help as well with the rev hang. 2,000 mile oil change intervals for me.
There is no wireless charger for the Civic SI in the USA. Also, forget about the MSRP. Be prepared to pay at least 40K to get this baby out of the door of a dealership.
I didn't pay over MSRP last year. I think the first year or two people were, and maybe with the refresh with heated seats etc. People are again, I don't know.
Older female and I enjoy driving my 24 sport touring hatch with manual transmission. No sticky steering issue, although taking it to dealer for recall repair. Never was able to test drive an Si.
it looks too much like a juvenile kids car. like something a parent would buy an 18 year old for their first car. i'd be embarrassed to be seen driving that thing.
Its crazy how huge this civic is, everything keeps getting bigger but the roads keep getting smaller
Funny you mention that. It practically has the same amount of legroom as my 2012 accord.
🤣🤣🤣

Love seeing the third pedal. Please buy people!
This is a good one!
In a world where I wanted a Miata but have to carry people and gear often, Si was the answer and I adore it.
Thanks for this reminder. The SI might make a good graduation gift
Absolutely!
Yes --- it's ABSOLUTELY worth buying. They're WONDERFUL to daily. I drive a 23, and it does everything you need it to do in city and highway driving.

The classic Civic, great watch!
Who says they don’t make fun little cars anymore? 😎
@@BrianMakse Fun, yes. Little? Not so much. 😄

I’m keen to try the new hybrid, but it’s missing the good bits of the Si.
@BrianMakse yes it does.

I've been to Australia and I could totally drive a Type R daily in Sydney no worries.
@@BrianMakse wow Sydney traffic in a Type R 😂 na mate no thanks.
I’ll stick with my 24 Volkswagen Golf GTI 2.0 6 speed manual.
Love mine!
What about awd version 😂? I look at this and ended up with the WRX for the same price. Not price competitive
I like it but I dont think I could buy it. That 1.5 just isnt it.
Have you driven one?
I prefer the hybrid over this.
Why?
It still worth buying for me. Not in white.
Crazy thing Is i think the forte Gt is a better deal 🤔
Have you driven an 11th gen Si? Go drive one.
1.5 L Turbo is no good!!!
It's a wonderful engine!
No, it doesn't make sense since the introduction of the compliance 1.5T engine to please the EPA.
This car deserves a detuned 2.0T
Yes, it makes sense! The 11th gen is actually fast in real world conditions! Go drive one!

Yeah, that’s a shame. Not a problem for Canadians, though.

Prove it.

NO!
Rather get a WRX
The 2.0 is boring already, the 1.5 is even worse.
Not confident to buy any Honda 1.5 Turbo engine after the dilution issue of recent past.....
I've had a 23 and have driven the absolute hell out of it. ZERO ISSUES.
Those issues arose when the 1.5t first came out and was fixed.
It's had 197-201 hp since 2006. Lame Sedan instead of a hatchback design and JUNK turbo 1.5 engine. No thanks 👎
Too much $$,$$$

Sadly in Houston, dealers want to rip you off…..Markups are ridiculous high.
The wireless charger used by Honda doesn't work anyway.
Stay away from this engine
I remember the oil dilution 1.5 issues in the 2018 CRV. Problem still exists?

If I was going to buy a daily, I'd get an automatic. If I was going to buy a hobby car, I'd buy a better car. So, who is this car for?
It's for young guys and hard core car guys, you know, the 2% that are willing to put up with a self-shifter in today's overcrowded world.

That’s what I find so appealing about the car. It doesn’t have the flash of a BMW, Lexus or other Lux brand.
