Great reaction. I'm 70 and enjoy that the younger generations have been reacting to ABBA and how much people enjoy them. They're well loved to this day and I believe their music will be timeless. ❤
ABBA are one of the best groups ever, their harmony, the voices of the ladies and the variety of their songs are unique. Check out more: ABBA Live Tokyio 19778 "If it wasn't for the Night" "The Name of the Game" and more. Also great "Kisses Of Fire, Lovers Live A Little Longer (Live Switzerland '79)" Hits that you don't hear everywhere and are simply brilliant. Plus the ladies are super sexy 🙂
there is a ton of briliant songs (hits and album tracks) to react to. One of their unique aspects is also the incredible versatility of their songs. Every song is so completely different, yet uniquely theirs
ABBA was hugely successful at writing and performing pop songs up to 1975. Around this time dance music / disco was getting big so Abba threw their hat in the ring and this was their first attempt at a dance song. Not bad, especially considering it's now regarded as one of the greatest dance songs of all time.
You talk about the smiling performers which is so true, but also for you my man. Watching you is a pleasure because you're passionate and enjoying your reactions. Looking forward to more ABBA reactions from you.
Remember that ABBA is the iconic Swedish pop quartet, the best, most versatile and most important of the 70s, in the post BEATLES decade (the revolutionary group of the 60s) ABBA, as in its time BEATLES, was a musical and cultural phenomenon, and its legacy lives on remember that ABBA is an acrostic with initials of their first names; initialy They was two couples: A- Agnetha (blonde lead vocal) & B- Björn (guitarist and songwriter) B- Benny (pianist and songwriter) & A- Anni Frid (brunette lead vocal) (both couples separated before the breakup of the group in 1982) "Dancing Queen" (1976) is a beautiful song, which shines in the loftiness of its vocal harmonies the blonde singer Agnetha is soprano voice, the brunette singer Frida is mezzo soprano voice, and blending together made the famous and fantastic 'third voice of ABBA' And the music is bright and enveloping, from the initial chord it introduces you into the atmosphere of the disco and invites you to dance English public has voted it as one of the songs they want to hear the most, because of the feeling of joy and energy it gives them (another is "Don't stop me now" by Queen) And in 2015 "Dancing Queen" was included in the Hall of Fame of Rock and Roll music ABBA recording between 1972/1982, have a wonderful series of more than 20 worldwide hits (and also 50 another great songs), included nine #1 in UK: Waterloo Mamma Mia Fernando Dancing Queen Knowing me knowing you The name of the game Take a chance on me The winner takes it all Super trouper And after more than 35 years ABBA return to studio in 2017 and recording a full new album "Voyage" between 2017/2021 released in November 2021 and is a worldwide succes ABBA begin to be famous in 1974, when They won the Eurovision Song Contest in UK with their iconic song "Waterloo" Last April 2024 was their 50th anniversary and Eurovisión gives a tribute to ABBA and Waterloo Muy suggestion Is to react the live perfomance of ABBA ay Eurovisión in Brighton UK 1974 I hope to see more reactions to ABBA GOD bless you my best regards from Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷 South America

ABBA is Sweden's gift to the world. They are (in my humble opinion) the greatest group of all time. There is no such thing as a mediocre ABBA song. Their genius is: 1. Meticulous Vocals Agnetha (prounounced Ann-Yay-Tuh) Faltskog - Blonde And Annifrid (Frida) Lyngstad -Brunette / Red Head Each of these ladies have incredible solo voices in their own right, and when they are combined - it is an otherwordly sound that can't be described. 2. Mind you - English is their 2nd language, and they still were able to write songs with incredible lyrics and deliver them with that BEAUTIFUL Swedish Lilt (as an aside, the Swedish accent has a very musical intonation - part of the magic of ThevABBA sound). Please do a deep dive: Below are some recommended songs to start out with: Agnetha lead: SOS, The Winner Takes it All; My Love My Life; Chiquiqita. Annifrid (Frida) lead: Fernando; Super Trouper; Knowing Me Knowing You; When All is Said and Done; I Let The Music Speak. This is just the start. ABBA is timeless and cannot be matched. Welcome to your ABBA Deep Dive. You won't be disappointed. A Diehard 62 year old Super Fan!
They are already becoming one of my favorite bands ever and I've only heard the tip of the iceberg! Thanks for these recommendations. I definitely want to check out the different songs where Agnetha & Frida are singing lead. I've had a lot of people recommending SOS & Knowing Me and Knowing You, so I may do those in a joint review! Thanks again for sharing!
You should react to "As Good As New" a not so well known gem in my opinion, and also "Lovers Live A Litte Longer" - Oh and listen to "My love My life" Agnetha´s vocal there is insane :)
Thank you for the reaction. Please react to Knowing me knowing you, The winner takes it all, The day before you came, Voulez-Vous, Hole in your soul live from Wembley 1979, Eagle (long album version), If it wasn`t for the nights and Chiquitita live from Wembley 1979.
ABBA started the Swedish music wonder, we are second in the world of exporting music, look up Max Martin, he produces most of the number one hits in the world.
Excellent reaction. ABBA definitely had a feel good vibe about them even though many of their song weren't feel good topics. They just give off such positive energy. I would for you to react to "SOS" 1975 TV performance. They were always fun to watch perform or live in concert.
They really do. The energy that they give is so positive. I'll definitley check out the live SOS performance. I can imagine this comes through so much more live!
A lot of their songs have very complex lyrics, my personal favourite being The Winner Takes It All. So shocking when you take into account that English is not their first language. All round sensational group
In case you're not aware, ABBA is the first initial of each member. Agnetha (the blonde) was married to Bjorn (the guitar player), and Benny (the piano player) was married to Anni-frid (the brunette).
I posted u a link with some rare studio footage of the band and while the song was in the making and the story behind it but utube 'swallowed" it.I hope you managed to catch it from the comment text.Cheers.
If you haven't reacted to Nightwish "Ghost Love Score" live from Wacken, you owe it to yourself. Believe me you will be so impressed with the whole thing❤❤❤
Great reaction..if you want to see one of their best live performances you have to do the double video of them performing Does Your Mother Know/Hole In Your Soul Live@Wembley Stadium. There are videos with both performances as they transition from one to the other, it is an incredible must see performance. I have been a fan for over 49 years and my love for them has never waivered.
Benny and Bjorn were the producers, Michael B. Tretow the engineer. Stig Anderson was their manager, rather than their producer. You’re thinking of Tretow.
Please keep doing ABBA reactions as i loved watching you and listening to your critique. Other songs by then you should check out are Fernando, Chiquitita and The Name Of The Game. Greatest pop band ever!
If you want to react to a song that blends somewhat different elements or sections of music into one cohesive whole, do react to The Name of the Game. It’s an amazing song - the various sections that make up the song are quite diverse and yet everything fits seamlessly and it’s a really beautiful piece-vocally, instrumentally and lyrically. The harmonies and backing vocals are otherworldly. It’s my favourite ABBA song (and I love most of their output).❤
TNOTG ....Good suggestion! Diverse, greatly complicated song , crafted with such detailed care and totally different to DQ yet still another majestic soulful recording that breathes out ABBA's aura of perfection.
@@biggmerkreactions btw some sample of this song was used from US hip hop band Fugees in 1996 for their hit "Rumble in the jungle".It was the 1st time (out of 2) on which Benny and Bjorn didn't deny to give permission for sampling an Abba song possibly because they apreciated the fact that they were a black band and totally different from Abba's genre.
The ultimate dance floor filler. My daughter has learning difficulties and is very reserved - until they play this song, then she is up on the dance floor dancing her heart out
If you want to check out songs based on different moods, here are my suggestions. Knowing Me Knowing You and The Winner Takes It All are a bit sad and sound like it. SOS and Chiquitita are sad but don't sound like it. Take a Chance on Me is happy and sounds like it 😄 By lead vocals you can see Frida on Fernando and Knowing Me Knowing you. Agnetha on The Winner Takes it all and SOS.
ENTHUSIASTIC/FANTASTIC/AWESOME reaction/analysis. Bigg Merk, I subscribed to this channel within minutes of listening to your EXCELLENT intro and BRILLIANT analysis. In my opinion, it is IMPOSSIBLE to not smile and not get up and dance to Dancing Queen. ABBA Forever. 😊 👍
I grew up listening to ABBA. This is 1 of my favorites from them. The other is The Winner Takes it all. If you're looking for a fantastic current cover of Unchained Melody, with a smile that will knock your socks off, I suggest you listen to Lucy Thomas's version: th-cam.com/video/mqkx7Av6yMg/w-d-xo.html
This was an incisive review. You picked up on some important details to the draw and success of ABBA. You've got a lot to work through with ABBA, but I recommend "The Name Of The Game" for your next reaction. Also if you are so inclined, look into how Bjorn and Benny work through their creations. Also look into Michael B. Tretow, ABBA's now deceased recording engineer. And you absolutely cannot ignore the vocal prowess of Agnetha and Frida.
Thank you and I appreciate this additional background. I absolutely have to check out the Bjorn & Benny's creative process, as well as Michael Tretow. Agnetha and Frida as so perfect together and I love their voices, so I'll definitely check out "The Name of the Game". Thanks again!
best song of the 1970s, far and away. everyone likes it.
When Agnetha and Frida sing together it is called ABBA's third voice😊
It's guaranteed to get virtually everyone up on the dancefloor. No matter what age. Immaculate group, astounding music!
By far the best Pop-Song in history
💯
that BASS...kudos Rutger Gunnarsson
