    They dropped the ball for the maps. Especially for the mountain sleds. They need to have a GPS at least built in to compete with Polaris' 7S.

      I agree. Don't worry - its coming in the future :)

    BRP swung and missed terribly on this. It’s slow, mapping is mediocre at best, the left hand controls are terrible, not glove friendly, small touch screen icons and, you have to have your phone hooked up to access navigation.
    Hope 24 brings some revisions. Beautiful sled none the less.

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't really agree if I am being entirely honest. It isn't slow - its actually super responsive. The left hand controls are fantastic and has not been an issue with our sledding gloves on, the touch screen icons are plenty big enough. In terms of GPS, I agree with you. The mapping system can definitely use some improvements. Cheers, Jesse

    Thank for a beautiful video, hope this display is coming to Sea-Doo as well as soon as possible.
    But it does not look as colorful like the 7.8 display, it is more black and white only ?

    On my Mach is it possible to bring up OFSC Trail map on 7.8 gage and follow planned route when connected to phone? And if yes will it loose internet while following planned route?
    I have given up on BRP app and just use my phone which is very inconvenient when on a trip.

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but only through BRP Go app. I've found the app to be much better this year, but you need to download the maps in offline mode. Following a planned route works great. Cheers, Mike

    Great job with this video. How do you keep your screen on so long without the sled running? Mine only stays on a few seconds. Thanks

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If your key is plugged in and your sled is off, a quick press of the start button will power on the gauge without starting the sled. Gauge will stay on for 5 minutes. Same with sled running, if you hit the kill switch, gauge will stay on for 5 minutes unless you pull the cord. Cheers, Jesse

    I have a Packtalk Edge for communicator. On this new gauge is the procedure to pair the phone and the comm to the gauge, plug the phone into the gauge with the BRP Go app activated and not pair the comm to the phone? Or is the comm paired to the phone first then to the gauge? Thanks for the help.

      Exactly. Do not pair the comm to the phone. Cheers, Jesse

    Great video! Thanks!

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks man! Sled doesn't need to be running to run the gauge. With the sled off in your garage and tether connected, just fast click the start button and the gauge should turn on without the sled cranking. Gauge will stay on for five minutes before turning off unless of course you start the sled. Same with shutting off - if your sled is on and you turn it off by hitting the kill switch, as long as you dont pull the cord the gauge will stay on for 5 minutes. Hope that helps! Cheers, Jesse

      These batteries are not good at holding a charge. At least each of the ones I’ve seen (3 so far). I will be installing a quick charge connector. I will also be seeking warranty. 3 charges in 2 months of sitting just to get the display to stay on for a few minutes at a time.

    Hey Mike, a total aside here….after watching vid - I’m a big proponent for the $50 S-Doo handlebar pad.
    Good riding buddy of mine (30yrs) had a fluky accident late last season, most of the injury came from handlebar mount. Wearing TekVest too.
    I bought 2 pads this year.

    • @sledaddicz

      Hey Mattie! We always run our Skidoo handlebar pads. Mike just forgot to put it on for that trip. Cheers, Jesse

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually not quite Jesse. Matti - I opted to not run them this year but I have 2 of them for my sleds. The issue with he pads is that they get in the way of the gauge. Add the Doo riser and its even worse. I completely get the safety part of it though. Thanks, Mike

    Tell me about the jumper connector you made to have the screen stay powered on while the sled isn't running. I know it is via the COM port. Which pins?

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Michael. No connector was added. The screen will stay on for 5 minutes after turning off your sled if you don't pull the key. Also, plugging in your tether and a quick push of the start button the gauge will turn on for 5 minutes without running the sled. Cheers Jesse

    Excellent video on the 10.25 display, great hidden features revealed! My huge question is, how are you able to keep the display power on that long with the machine not running??

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The gauge will stay on for five minutes without the motor running. With the sled off and tether connected, just quick press the start button and the gauge will stay on for five minutes and then power off if you don't start it. Same with turning off. If you hit the kill switch on the sled and leave key connected, the gauge will stay on for 5 minutes. As soon as you pull the tether it will turn off. Cheers, Jesse

      Also, the guage won’t stay on long if your battery voltage isn’t up. My brand new 2024 Backcountry XRS has been sitting in my garage for 2 months (no snow yet) and I’ve had to charge the battery 3 times. The battery is crap. I put on a trickle charge just to make all of my initial settings.

    Love the video and how detailed it is! I have a Gen 5 renegade X with this screen. I’ve found after putting 100km in it when my phone was plugged in, it was glitching out high beams would turn off then the entire screen went blank. Couldn’t find a way to reset it. Turned the sled off for 20min and it works again.

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Cole! The issue with the gauge turning off is due to moisture. The plugs in the back of the gauge may not have been fully clicked in from factory, which is what we found with ours. After checking those and making sure the plugs were fully seated, we haven't had any further issues. Cheers, Jesse

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep we spoke about this in a recent video. It was a loose connection on the gauge plug n play connection. Just remove the two screws holding the gauge, and press the connections together a bit and should fix the problem. We also added some dielectric grease to seal it up and havent had any issues since. Had the same problems with our 2022s last season with the older gauge. Cheers, Jesse

    I'm not a fan of the small buttons for the engine start and high beams. Would be tough to operate with gloves on. They should have left the big chunky buttons they've been using for 15 years
    The good thing about the BRP Go app is they just recently updated it so you can download the district data and be able to use it when you don't have cell signal. Just need your phones GPS service

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว

      The buttons are plenty big enough to operate with gloves on. Neither Mike nor I had any problems hitting the buttons with our sledding gloves on. In regards to BRP Go, yes the downloading feature is great - I used it last week when I was in Quebec. It isn't perfect but it is definitely improving. Cheers, Jesse

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Walter. It is actually pretty responsive, very similar to the 7s. After going back and forth between both they are pretty similar. The mapping definitely needs to be improved though. The screen quality is pretty much neck and neck between the two as well. Cheers, Jesse

      Hey Brandon. The screen will stay on for up to 5 minutes with sled off - just hit the power button with the kill switch down. I have watched multiple riders struggle with the grips/thumb ratio. Burning their thumb when the hands are comfortable. Why in the world would BRP screw this up. It was simple before; you hands were colds, turn up the grips. Thumb hot, turn down the thumb. Now you are fiddling with both the overall temp and some ratio.

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว

      hmm I haven't found that at all with 4500 kms on the sled. I just set the ratio to 60/40 (fingers/thumb) and it hasn't been a problem at all. Cheers, Mike
