- Today I'm going to show you how to cook fresh bamboo shoots.
Bamboo shoot is a seasonal delicacy in Japan.
It's only available at this time of the year, just the same as Sakura.
It is so different from the pre-boiled product that can be available all year round.
It's time-consuming to prepare, but it is appreciated because it tastes exceptionally good!
2 pieces 300~350g bamboo shoot
1/2 cup rice bran
or 1 teaspoon baking soda
2 red chili peppers

Thankyou, I’ve planted some edible bamboo so I can try eating fresh shoots as my family enjoy the canned ones. I’m looking forward to your next video!
Your content brings me joy
Interesting 👍
It makes me want to visit Japan right now so I can get the FRESH fresh bamboo! I didn’t even know about the vacuum sealed one until recently, I had only heard of canned which tastes very different (and not as good, to me).
Please come to Japan at this time of the year! Thanks for watching!
