lenny hernandez If you have a check engine light on then you need to fix that first and then the VSC will turn off.
Bie Ngosa You should install the clip with the car off. That’s what I would recommend. But should work either way since the plug has constant power.

Your welcome! Glad it worked for you! This will be a permanent fix if there was not a real issue and it was just triggered which does happen. If there is a real issue it will return then you would need to get it scanned and see exactly what the issue is. It can be caused by a bad sensor or ABS issue.
Im going to try this over the weekend wish me luck...
I have a 2002 Lexus RX 300. I had blinking VSC & ABS Lights flashing and nothing else worked in getting them reset. I did the paper clip action, as stated in this video, and both reset and stopped blinking. Thanks for the info.

Will this work for 2011 rdx? I am getting TRAC OFF - check AWD system with check engine light. Took it to Autozone and the car has code off replace fuel cap. I tightened it and the lights still won’t come off. Ugh. I just got the car a month app ugh😢

@@ueray4 it worked but it was a temporary fix.. so I bought a code reader and I reset the alarm that way.... The alarm will come back on after about 10 miles of driving... Doesn't seem to have an effect on the car at all... Love my ride

Samson Wang Then is wasn’t just triggered. You may have a bad wheel speed sensor or something else. You’ll need to get it scanned. Let me know what faults you get I will try to help.
Hey Man! just bought a beautiful 2007 is250 one owner. 167k miles Check engine, VSC and traction control light came up, I used a snap on OBD reader and codes P0894 and P2714 were shown.
I watched a lot of videos and read a lot about this and it seems to affect a lot of lexus owners and seems to have multiple solutions.
How will you approach this? I am very tempted to try the paper clip in the obd since I used that with a corolla and solve the problem.

The VSC light in your situation is on because the check engine light is on. They go on together. I would start by getting the car scanned for codes and go from there.
got an 07 250 my self and they just came on after weeks of not having it. it came on once when i messed up my maf sensor reconnected and fixed it but seems to not be the issue now. did the paper clip method work?

Myron Feggins Jr Usually doesn’t cause a beeping noise, well atleast it didn’t on my GS.
That was the door being opened thats why it was beeping

😂 Permanent fix if it was just triggered by users fault. Temporary if you have a real issue that needs to be fixed first.

I just saw a video where a guy said cleaning the gas cap fixed the issue but that didn’t make sense to my. How would a loose gas cap affect the traction control? 🤷🏾♂️

Hi MV Garage, great video. Do you know how to do the Engine check light and VSC light in together. I cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body but power on with MAF sensor disconnected.
John CW Chan Hi ! And thanks ! Usually if there is a check engine light that always triggers the VSC light as well. You would need to get the code scanned for the check engine light it could be one of a hundred different issues. You can get it scanned for free at any auto zone. Just got these lights on this morning, and just to make sure you have you gas cap right and my steering wheel 🛞 was originally off a few inches since my last mechanic replaced the starter sure enough it finally worked !!! Thanks so much !!! 🎉

One thing to add. On mine I actually had to disconnect the battery first wait 15-20 minutes for charge to die and then reconnect the battery and do this procedure. Cleared the code.

@@TheLANDSQUID hey bro this just happened to my gx470 today along with not being able to shift out of park when I start the car I have to override the shift lock release to get it into drive. There was four lights that came on the abs vsc off vsc trac and anti skid. But they came on intermittently and did not stay on continuously for the entire trip just as I’m pulling off out of park and a few more times throughout a road trip but there is nothing wrong with my car it never effected performance. Did your lights ever back come back on after you reset if with with paper clip trick? And also were the lights coming up intermittently for you or did they stay on until you reset it?

Hi, i recently replaced both of the front cv axles on my car. These axles were replaced while there was a check engine light on the car along with trac and vsc flashing as well. The car became a pain to drive after the axles replacement. Car drives fine straight but is hard to turn. It's almost as if there is no power going to the wheels when i turn the wheel and give it gas. The car did drive fine before the axles were replaced, and at the time, the check engine light and vsc were both on. Problems started after the axle replacement. Should i have done the check engine light fix first and then the axles??

Hi, that could be an issue with the abs actuator or a ecu. Hard to help without seeing the vehicle. You can try clearing them to see if it will recognize after the reset.

Hi MV, I got code P0A80 - Replace Hybrid Battery pack on my lexus 2006 Rx400 H.
history- I did not drive for 1 month. So when it did not start got battery replaced by AAA and now I have check engine, red triangle 🔺 with exclamation, ABS on. Any suggestions what could I do to fix...
Haven't worked on many hybrids. There may be a reset procedure that needs to be preformed when installing new batteries on hybrids.

My 2007 gs430 had the diagnostic say the right front wheel speed sensor fault. On checking the connector I noticed it has some vertigris on the brass pins and in the receiving sockets of the plug. Cleaning those terminals cleared the fault.

What happens if I put the paper clip in the wrong hole? I am super paranoid of shorting out the electricals and you know that's expensive to fix. I have the "check VSC" No other lights come on (engine)
Totally understand your concern. All I can say is I’ve done it and nothing happened. Just try and follow the video and get it in the correct slots. If it’s just the VSC light this procedure should work for you.
Hi my lights on my lexus is250 recently came on vsc light and check light also trac light. the code for the the check light was p2757 which was the transmission after replacing the transmission twice the light came right back after about 20 to 80 mile twice this happen so i know its not the transmission whats the next step i should take could it be my computer
Dang Vue Hi possible causes for that code. Dirty transmission fluid
Faulty line pressure solenoid valve SLU
Line pressure solenoid valve SLU harness is open or shorted
Line pressure solenoid valve SLU circuit poor electrical connection
Torque converter clutch
Valve body is blocked
If you checked all those and replaced what you needed to did you clear the code ? Reset it with a scan tool or disconnect the negative battery terminal for 10 minutes. The VSC light is only on because the check engine light.

Emmanuel Tenkorang thanks correct. This only works for the VSC light on by itself. If you have a check engine light on that’s the reason the VSC light is on. You can clear that by disconnecting the battery for 10 mins.
My 2006 is350 entered the flashing mode, but didn’t show the vsc test mode on the lcd.
P L The “IS” may be a little different but the same procedure otherwise. This was on a GS model.
sorry to bother you again i had another question...i think they are called Spyder Led Drl headlights.. the led strip light keeps flickering when i turn it on.. is it a sign that i need to buy a new headlight?
Mitsu RT with my experience with LED strips. It’s either a power issue, poorly made led strip or yes it’s on its way out. If it was working good for a while and now doing that then yes it’s about to go out.

Will this work for my 2006 Toyota 4runner? I had seen other videos using the paper clip but for the 4runner the other videos showed that one paper clip is in the 3rd hole on the top left and the other paper clip is in the 4th hole bottom right. I tried it and it didn't work, I had to touch them 4 times and turn the vehicle off and turn back on again and touch the clips together for 20 sec and then turn it off and on again. It was a workout. Please tell me I can follow your steps. Thanks.
Terrance Gamble I’ve never tried it on the 4Runner but it should be the same procedure since I did this on a 2006 Lexus. Also on a 2018 Toyota. And it was the same. But I can’t say for sure on your vehicle. Won’t hurt to try. Let me know how it goes.

Transmission Control Module (TCM)
failure. Common Problems That Trigger the P0977 Code
-Transmission Control Module (TCM) failure
-Transmission fluid level is low
-Transmission shift solenoid failure
-Wiring issue
Start by checking the fluid level. That would be your best case scenario.
Mine is a toyota venza 2011. Would the same process work for it?

Suzanne Hodgkins Not sure about the grinding noise but for the VSC light you can try the reset procedure. As long as it’s just the VSC light. If the light comes back on after that you will need to get it scanned and diagnosed. If it just got triggered and there is no real fault it should stay off and your good to go.

If this does not work, try taking the negative terminal off the battery for 15 mins, it will reset the computer and should clear

Yes, but that only works if you have a check engine light and the VSC light on. Usually doesn’t work if it’s just the VSC light.

Frank Powers The VSC light is on because the check engine light. They go on together. You’ll need to get that scanned and get the code. I can try and help from there.
My VSC OFF light is on with VSC and ABS light...but I can feel the abs working when I brake at higher speed...will this work???..I am sussing the wheels...bcos it goes and stops faultlessly
If there is no check engine light on with those. It should work. Doesn’t hurt to try.

Haven’t tried it to fix that issue but it won’t hurt the car to try it.
