I was just gonna ask about the same car. I just got the starter changed on my LS460 (08) and to my surprise I have these lights on the dash that weren’t there before. Did you use the same pins as mentioned in the video?

Thanks so much my guy I just got my alignment done on my 2009 Toyota Matrix XRS and every time I tried to ride my car the light would light up and it was driving me crazy because before the light would light up the car would not let me accelerate passing certain mph so now it’s fixed. One thing to add. On mine I actually had to disconnect the battery first wait 15-20 minutes for charge to die and then reconnect the battery and do this procedure. Cleared the code.
Great video. I have rx330 and for 3 yrs never knew the issue. Thought it had something to do with the gas cap. Changed caps and still was on. All along just needed a paper clip and your video. Thanks
I just saw a video where a guy said cleaning the gas cap fixed the issue but that didn’t make sense to my. How would a loose gas cap affect the traction control? 🤷🏾♂️

I have a 2002 Lexus RX 300. I had blinking VSC & ABS Lights flashing and nothing else worked in getting them reset. I did the paper clip action, as stated in this video, and both reset and stopped blinking. Thanks for the info.
Hey Man! just bought a beautiful 2007 is250 one owner. 167k miles Check engine, VSC and traction control light came up, I used a snap on OBD reader and codes P0894 and P2714 were shown. I watched a lot of videos and read a lot about this and it seems to affect a lot of lexus owners and seems to have multiple solutions. How will you approach this? I am very tempted to try the paper clip in the obd since I used that with a corolla and solve the problem. the car drives fine with no issues
The VSC light in your situation is on because the check engine light is on. They go on together. I would start by getting the car scanned for codes and go from there.
got an 07 250 my self and they just came on after weeks of not having it. it came on once when i messed up my maf sensor reconnected and fixed it but seems to not be the issue now. did the paper clip method work?

There was four lights that came on the abs vsc off vsc trac and anti skid. But they came on intermittently and did not stay on continuously for the entire trip just as I’m pulling off out of park and a few more times throughout a road trip but there is nothing wrong with my car it never effected performance. Did your lights ever back come back on after you reset if with with paper clip trick? And also were the lights coming up intermittently for you or did they stay on until you reset it?

I will try this on my 2007 IS250. The VSC, trac control engine light just came up after a couple of minutes passing through some rough bumps. I hope it helps
Samson Wang Then is wasn’t just triggered. You may have a bad wheel speed sensor or something else. You’ll need to get it scanned. Let me know what faults you get I will try to help.

The VSC is on because the check engine light. You can clear them by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 10 mins. But if the lights comes back you will need to get it scanned to see the issue.

John CW Chan Hi ! And thanks ! Usually if there is a check engine light that always triggers the VSC light as well. You would need to get the code scanned for the check engine light it could be one of a hundred different issues. You can get it scanned for free at any auto zone. @@ueray4 it worked but it was a temporary fix.. so I bought a code reader and I reset the alarm that way.... The alarm will come back on after about 10 miles of driving... Doesn't seem to have an effect on the car at all... Love my ride
Man you are the sh@t!!! I wish I would have seen this last year before I changed a sensor. A year later the light is back, hopefully it will stay away.
Your welcome! Glad it worked for you! This will be a permanent fix if there was not a real issue and it was just triggered which does happen. If there is a real issue it will return then you would need to get it scanned and see exactly what the issue is. It can be caused by a bad sensor or ABS issue.

Hi, i recently replaced both of the front cv axles on my car. These axles were replaced while there was a check engine light on the car along with trac and vsc flashing as well. The car became a pain to drive after the axles replacement. Car drives fine straight but is hard to turn. It's almost as if there is no power going to the wheels when i turn the wheel and give it gas. The car did drive fine before the axles were replaced, and at the time, the check engine light and vsc were both on. Problems started after the axle replacement. Should i have done the check engine light fix first and then the axles??

Mitsu RT with my experience with LED strips. It’s either a power issue, poorly made led strip or yes it’s on its way out. If it was working good for a while and now doing that then yes it’s about to go out.

I’m not comfortable doing this myself. My car keeps jerking to the right and the VSC light on. The steering wheel is turned to the right, also if that makes sense. What would a mechanic charge to realign my steering wheel and fix this problem? Recently got an alignment.
Definitely sounds like the alignment wasn’t done correctly if you recently did it. They usually cost between $80-$120. I would address the alignment issue before anything.
Tonight (after hours) I had my car towed to the Auto Shop that did the alignment & control arms to check it out since under warranty. My steering wheel was completely upside down and could do a complete 360 when attempting to drive it there. I couldn’t go over 40mph on the highway without car jerking left and right so I decided not to risk it. Terrifying! I can’t wait to find out the problem when they check it out in the morning. Thanks for the advice.
@@MahoganyBelle Yes, better to be safe. If it was there fault I would hope they cover the tow as well. Sounds like something was left loose. Let me know what they find.
@@FlipITGarage I’ll definitely update you with what that say. Hopefully, I can get reimbursed for the tow. I was out of $185. They did say if it’s their fault they will take care of it. Not sure why they didn’t offer to pay tow upfront, only a referral to one but I found my own.
@@FlipITGarage So as mentioned they worked on the lower control arm ball joints and did an alignment. The guy just called and said that the suspension pins were missing, and I don’t know much about cars but that sounds like a careless mistake. He said they put the suspension pins in and it’s working perfectly now. I’m on my way to get it and test drive it early just in case I have to take it right back. What are your thoughts on this? Does this sound right?

No problem! Happy to help. No this is just the reset procedure. If there is a real problem it will come back on eventually. If it doesn’t then there was no real fault.
@@FlipITGarage So turns out the next day the car was dead, turns out battery, replaced battery, checked alternator to make sure charging, all good. But now only the drivers window works, the other three windows do not and the Dual Climate zone setting do not act independently anymore? Only one climate zone and not two zones any longer? Wondering since replacing battery it reset something? Main screen showed "Rebooting" after turning car back on?
@@okkin981 Yep the windows and sunroof need to be reprogrammed. Just go to each door window switch one by one. Hold down, when it reaches the bottom hold for an additional 3 seconds then do the same going up. Do that to each door.
@@FlipITGarage Boom! That did the trick! And for what ever reason the Dual Zone AC started working as well. I replaced both of the Cam Sensors as well for good measure because they were super easy to swap out and thats what the codes were all about. So far so good! Thank you for all your help sir

Gjergji Dano If you have all those lights on this procedure won’t work for you. With all those fault lights sounds like you have a bad alternator. You should get it tested to confirm but I suspect you’ll need a alternator replacement. Happened to me before at around 100K miles on the same car.

MV Garage Not too good crank when starting. I’m thinking same way too about, FUEL ISSUE. Because I perceives smell of gasoline from the tailpipe whenever the fault occurs.....with a white smoke which disappear after about 20 seconds. I sincerely appreciate your attention sir. I will try to look into fuel issue and revert back.
This worked for my 08 IS250 after I replaced the altenator. Keep in mind that when you first jump the Obd with a paperclip, that you must have the on/off switch in the on position.

Before trying this reset, did your car run properly? The dealership swapped out the fuel pump on a Toyota recall and the next day I turned the car on and got the TRAC OFF and Check Engine lights. Nevertheless, I tried driving the vehicle, but there was no acceleration.
pshaw34565 you can always reset the check engine light by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 10 mins. But I wouldn’t recommend it. Since it’s something they must of caused. It will reset the data. Just bring it back to them and yes the check engine light could be a number of different things that may make it run rough.
I did a after market CAT replacement on my 2006 IS350. Will this work on it? Im trying turn off the VSC lights that are on due to the CAT replacement. Thank you I'm scared to do it, I don't want to blow something up by putting a paperclip in there LOL.

My VSC OFF light is on with VSC and ABS light...but I can feel the abs working when I brake at higher speed...will this work???..I am sussing the wheels...bcos it goes and stops faultlessly

My 2007 gs430 had the diagnostic say the right front wheel speed sensor fault. On checking the connector I noticed it has some vertigris on the brass pins and in the receiving sockets of the plug. Cleaning those terminals cleared the fault.
So I have a 06’ IS350. Has been scanned as a wheel speed sensor about a year ago, it only came on in the rain. I got a wheel alignment and now it’s on every single time I drive the car, doesn’t cause any issues, just annoying to look at. Would this work or would I need a nee sensor do you think?
Will this work for my 2006 Toyota 4runner? I had seen other videos using the paper clip but for the 4runner the other videos showed that one paper clip is in the 3rd hole on the top left and the other paper clip is in the 4th hole bottom right. I tried it and it didn't work, I had to touch them 4 times and turn the vehicle off and turn back on again and touch the clips together for 20 sec and then turn it off and on again. It was a workout. Please tell me I can follow your steps. Thanks.
Terrance Gamble I’ve never tried it on the 4Runner but it should be the same procedure since I did this on a 2006 Lexus. Also on a 2018 Toyota. And it was the same. But I can’t say for sure on your vehicle. Won’t hurt to try. Let me know how it goes.
Worked on my isF. Thank you very much. Deleted an o2 sensor code after replacing but the vsc stayed. This took it right off. Aggravating the cel triggers this and doesn't let me go into 1st or have traction

Bie Ngosa You should install the clip with the car off. That’s what I would recommend. But should work either way since the plug has constant power.

Myron Feggins Jr Usually doesn’t cause a beeping noise, well atleast it didn’t on my GS.
That was the door being opened thats why it was beeping

Your welcome! Glad it worked for you! This will be a permanent fix if there was not a real issue and it was just triggered which does happen. If there is a real issue it will return then you would need to get it scanned and see exactly what the issue is. It can be caused by a bad sensor or ABS issue.

Hi, i recently replaced both of the front cv axles on my car. These axles were replaced while there was a check engine light on the car along with trac and vsc flashing as well. The car became a pain to drive after the axles replacement. Car drives fine straight but is hard to turn. It's almost as if there is no power going to the wheels when i turn the wheel and give it gas. The car did drive fine before the axles were replaced, and at the time, the check engine light and vsc were both on. Problems started after the axle replacement. Should i have done the check engine light fix first and then the axles??

Mitsu RT with my experience with LED strips. It’s either a power issue, poorly made led strip or yes it’s on its way out. If it was working good for a while and now doing that then yes it’s about to go out.

Sound like you may have an issue with one of the speed sensors. Did you ever figure it out?
@@Justin-ge6fu hey bro this just happened to my gx470 today along with not being able to shift out of park when I start the car I have to override the shift lock release to get it into drive. There was four lights that came on the abs vsc off vsc trac and anti skid. But they came on intermittently and did not stay on continuously for the entire trip just as I’m pulling off out of park and a few more times throughout a road trip but there is nothing wrong with my car it never effected performance. Did your lights ever back come back on after you reset if with with paper clip trick? And also were the lights coming up intermittently for you or did they stay on until you reset it?

I’m not comfortable doing this myself. My car keeps jerking to the right and the VSC light on. The steering wheel is turned to the right, also if that makes sense. What would a mechanic charge to realign my steering wheel and fix this problem? Recently got an alignment.
Definitely sounds like the alignment wasn’t done correctly if you recently did it. They usually cost between $80-$120. I would address the alignment issue before anything.
Tonight (after hours) I had my car towed to the Auto Shop that did the alignment & control arms to check it out since under warranty. My steering wheel was completely upside down and could do a complete 360 when attempting to drive it there. I couldn’t go over 40mph on the highway without car jerking left and right so I decided not to risk it. Terrifying! I can’t wait to find out the problem when they check it out in the morning. Thanks for the advice.
@@MahoganyBelle Yes, better to be safe. If it was there fault I would hope they cover the tow as well. Sounds like something was left loose. Let me know what they find.
@@FlipITGarage I’ll definitely update you with what that say. Hopefully, I can get reimbursed for the tow. I was out of $185. They did say if it’s their fault they will take care of it. Not sure why they didn’t offer to pay tow upfront, only a referral to one but I found my own.
@@FlipITGarage So as mentioned they worked on the lower control arm ball joints and did an alignment. The guy just called and said that the suspension pins were missing, and I don’t know much about cars but that sounds like a careless mistake. He said they put the suspension pins in and it’s working perfectly now. I’m on my way to get it and test drive it early just in case I have to take it right back. What are your thoughts on this? Does this sound right?

If it’s only the VSC light without the check engine light it should work on the Highlander.

@@rp17rionda If it’s just a reset with the scan tool I wouldn’t charge for that. Takes a few minutes.

No problem! Happy to help. No this is just the reset procedure. If there is a real problem it will come back on eventually. If it doesn’t then there was no real fault.
@@FlipITGarage So turns out the next day the car was dead, turns out battery, replaced battery, checked alternator to make sure charging, all good. But now only the drivers window works, the other three windows do not and the Dual Climate zone setting do not act independently anymore? Only one climate zone and not two zones any longer? Wondering since replacing battery it reset something? Main screen showed "Rebooting" after turning car back on?
@@okkin981 Yep the windows and sunroof need to be reprogrammed. Just go to each door window switch one by one. Hold down, when it reaches the bottom hold for an additional 3 seconds then do the same going up. Do that to each door.
@@FlipITGarage Boom! That did the trick! And for what ever reason the Dual Zone AC started working as well. I replaced both of the Cam Sensors as well for good measure because they were super easy to swap out and thats what the codes were all about. So far so good! Thank you for all your help sir

Gjergji Dano If you have all those lights on this procedure won’t work for you. With all those fault lights sounds like you have a bad alternator. You should get it tested to confirm but I suspect you’ll need a alternator replacement. Happened to me before at around 100K miles on the same car.

Ibitayo Afolabi almost sounds like a fuel issue then. Was the fuel filter changed ? May be clogged. Do you have a good crank when starting?
MV Garage Not too good crank when starting. I’m thinking same way too about, FUEL ISSUE. Because I perceives smell of gasoline from the tailpipe whenever the fault occurs.....with a white smoke which disappear after about 20 seconds. I sincerely appreciate your attention sir. I will try to look into fuel issue and revert back.
This worked for my 08 IS250 after I replaced the altenator. Keep in mind that when you first jump the Obd with a paperclip, that you must have the on/off switch in the on position.

Sometimes you have to repeat the procedure. Unless its a hard default then you need to address the issue.

Before trying this reset, did your car run properly? The dealership swapped out the fuel pump on a Toyota recall and the next day I turned the car on and got the TRAC OFF and Check Engine lights. Nevertheless, I tried driving the vehicle, but there was no acceleration.
pshaw34565 the check engine light is the reason your VSC Trac light is on. You’ll need to get it scanned. I would take it back to them.

pshaw34565 you can always reset the check engine light by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 10 mins. But I wouldn’t recommend it. Since it’s something they must of caused. It will reset the data. Just bring it back to them and yes the check engine light could be a number of different things that may make it run rough.
I did a after market CAT replacement on my 2006 IS350. Will this work on it? Im trying turn off the VSC lights that are on due to the CAT replacement. Thank you I'm scared to do it, I don't want to blow something up by putting a paperclip in there LOL.

Car won’t break down without fixing it but it will lessen the stability because some safety traction controls are disabled.
My VSC OFF light is on with VSC and ABS light...but I can feel the abs working when I brake at higher speed...will this work???..I am sussing the wheels...bcos it goes and stops faultlessly
If there is no check engine light on with those. It should work. Doesn’t hurt to try.

Didn’t work on my 2007 gs 350
My 2007 gs430 had the diagnostic say the right front wheel speed sensor fault. On checking the connector I noticed it has some vertigris on the brass pins and in the receiving sockets of the plug. Cleaning those terminals cleared the fault.

So I have a 06’ IS350. Has been scanned as a wheel speed sensor about a year ago, it only came on in the rain. I got a wheel alignment and now it’s on every single time I drive the car, doesn’t cause any issues, just annoying to look at. Would this work or would I need a nee sensor do you think?
Will this work for my 2006 Toyota 4runner? I had seen other videos using the paper clip but for the 4runner the other videos showed that one paper clip is in the 3rd hole on the top left and the other paper clip is in the 4th hole bottom right. I tried it and it didn't work, I had to touch them 4 times and turn the vehicle off and turn back on again and touch the clips together for 20 sec and then turn it off and on again. It was a workout. Please tell me I can follow your steps. Thanks.
Terrance Gamble I’ve never tried it on the 4Runner but it should be the same procedure since I did this on a 2006 Lexus. Also on a 2018 Toyota. And it was the same. But I can’t say for sure on your vehicle. Won’t hurt to try. Let me know how it goes.
Worked on my isF. Thank you very much. Deleted an o2 sensor code after replacing but the vsc stayed. This took it right off. Aggravating the cel triggers this and doesn't let me go into 1st or have traction
