I can't thank you enough for sharing this video. I've been trying to get a second fob key for reasonable cost with no luck. I ordered this kit and it took me 3 minutes to program the new fob and viola! It worked!

Thanks for this! I only had one key fob for my 2008 Lexus IS250. Now I can have a spare key fob around just for having it. This video has very clear instructions and it was extremely smooth setting my key up.
first one was defective, Amazon exchanged it right away..tried again and it worked instantly , took less than 2mins...awesome product!!!!!! saved me $300 from Lexus..i have a 2006 IS350

Do you mind to share how exactly the first one was defective? I tried 2 of them and both didn't work. Both times the dorman key beeped once followed by another beeps and it didn't work. After that, they did not beep at all. So I gave up on this dorman. I wish it worked for me.
@@Igryan8 that’s exactly what happened to me… but the second replacement they sent to me worked instantly… I’m pretty sure the defective ones failed programming and only allows you to do it once…. I called there support and they guided me through it .. then advised me to have it replaced

This also works on RX350 2011-2014. Worked on my RX350 , last year before the new generation RX! Best $80 I spent on this car next to the Walmart $54 car battery😅

Hi there. Great video. Any idea if there is any equipment that will do the same for vehicles 2009 an onwards? My particular vehicle is a 2012 IS250 (based in the UK).
I haven seen any. Newer cars have more advanced safety and are nit that easy to program.

Awesome! I havent tried reusing the programmer. Its possible that its single use only, or that it works with Dorman keys only. But honestly, you will pay around $90 just for the new OEM key fob. So its the same price for new kit with key and programmer.

Where did you get your actual internal key cut? Did you just go to dealer? I know some need diagrams to cut and I would assume it would be easier to take the internal key in the fob itself to them to get cut
At my local Ace Hardware store. Big name stores may refuse to cut it, I assume because you didn’t buy the key from them....

Hi, I bought the same exact FOB following your link in the comment section. I have a 2008 ES 350 that is suppose to work. I tried 8 times to get this to work and it didn't. Bummer! I followed the simple instructions word for word. It would beep correspondingly with every step indicating the car was in program mode, and it was communicating with the new FOB and programmer, but the replacement FOB was never programed. I hope I can return it and get my money back. Thanks again for the video though.
Nice video. Unfortunately after running through exactly the same process 3 times with the identical Dorman setup, I gave up. I had a red light come on but no sync confirmation beep on programmer, then no beeps with the fob/on off button. I'll go out and give it a few more tries, than send it back to Amazon if it fails. Note: The one I bought was an opened unit through Amazon, perhaps defective? Anyway, I appreciate your video, now It's time to go try again.

Yeah, open box is probably the reason... These are single use programmers. Someone could have used it on their car and returned it back to Amazon. 🤷🏻♂️
You need original OEM key to program the aftermarket key you cannot program the aftermarket key with a aftermarket key.
@@dejamalone9346 I appreciate your response. The OEM fob with Lexus logo is my main fob. It ended up being a defective unit I returned. The replacement I ordered worked the first time. Unfortunately, the uncut key that Dorman delivers is key A with the trimmed edges that the Locksmith couldn't cut. I found (blank) key B on Ali express, just $7.74 shipped, it arrives today.

Hi! I have a 2006 lexus is250. For some reason to unlock the passenger door from the handle (without using the key) stopped working. I really hate taking out the keys to unlock my car, I rather walk up and unlock it with the handle. any suggestions?? thank you
I believe it can be turned on/off somehow. It should be explained how to do it in the owners annual.

Yes, you must have original fob to copy it.
I tried this on my 2006 Lexus IS 250 and heard the beep the first time but I missed a step and had to reset from the beginning. But now I dont hear the beep mentioning that the car is in programming mode. I went through the entire motions but it just plugs in and shows a solid red light (on the programmer in the OBD2). Please help!

I was able to program one new key but after that when I try to program an additional new one I don't hear any beep after plugging in the programmer. Could I have burned it out somehow by unplugging it without turning the vehicle off? The red light comes on on the programmer so I'm guessing it's still works?
I just finished a call with their customer support line and apparently each programmer only gives you five attempts to even just plug in to the OBD port on your vehicle. Regardless of how much time passes. So that's definitely something for buyers to keep in mind. Also you cannot program on more than one vehicle. Wish I'd known.

Hi all have a mk3 GS300 2007, both my original key fobs, stopped working, have replaced batteries still no response, the electric wing mirrors dont fold or open, and the cental locking doesn't work, so the passenger and back doors don't open as well as the windows for them, all else works, the key fobs light up, but the car doesn't respond to them, can I use techstream to reprogram and reset the old fobs so the car can respond? And if so how please! Only the driver side window works electrical.
Im not sure this is a problem with keys. Two keys to brake at the same exact time is too much of a coincident. Sounds more like you’ve got some electrical problems in the car instead.
@@DIYtimeTRD one key was already dead, the other was about to and died when my brother went to move the car and the alarm went of, as I've been working from home since March last year, haven't used the car much. Also when manually locking car the red light for alarm doesn't flash.
Car battery may not have enough juice...
@@DIYtimeTRD It's been checked and I've driven miles today 🤔 the battery on car is perfect, so are the batteries on the fobs as they have been checked also. Sorry good man.

So far its working fine. The coin battery in it might be dying a bit sooner I feel, but not sure if I just had a bad one...

I use Techstream 15.20.10 cracked software + COM cable and order from DENSO OEM new key fob for $25. Works for me and all my friends!

@@DIYtimeTRD I ordered directly from Denso developers for my toyota prius. It is OEM keys without logo on it. All smart keys almost the same. Possible order refurbished or copy from china for $15. Or possible use used keys and unlock it. Possible replace internal chip for new one and use key fob. I did it couple times. It is just key with some electronic PCB inside. It cannot cost more than $50 for sure.

Hey there I found a OEM Lexus Hybrid smart key on the ground, it looks as though it's from a RX Hybrid based on the serial number. I was thinking about listing it on eBay, someone can reprogram it for their car right?
Yes, but it has to be erased first, before it can be programmed to a new car.
@@DIYtimeTRD OK awesome, yes I believe I had bought one of those cables to use to program my parents 2008 RX 350 non-smart Key, but a potential buyer as long as they match up the FCC ID they can take it to a programmer and have it erased and then re-program for their car, as long as they have one key correct? And the one I just found is definitely OEM not a cheap knock off its denso , and it doesn’t have a keychain otherwise I would return it to its owner lol

It's not on the compatibility list. Maybe check with the seller. Maybe they just don't know what IS F is, and just didn't add it. Cuz I think it should be pretty similar ECU's compared to IS.
Why did you exclude those Korean and Taiwan spec Lexus cars? Would you suggest other options?
Because they have different ECU’s. You need to find a programmer for your region.

DIY-time amazon delivered my new key fob and programmer. I has success programming the “eBay” fob useing the Forman programmer. Now I have a spare “unlocked” key. To pad there usbt a simple way to “unlock” previous used keys.

Is your remote still working? I purchased 1 and it worked great for about 10 days. I replaced the battery and it worked great again for about 10 more days. I sent it back and got a replacement. That one came with a dead battery. I replaced the battery and programed it and it worked just like the other one, about a week. I sent it back for a refund. I am wondering did I just get a couple from a bad batch. Thinking about trying again. How is yours working?
Mine works ok. I did have to replace battery once already after having it fir few month, but definitely not after 10 days.
