Fun little factoid about Poison: Many have wondered why Ground is super-effective and resistant to it (and Rock but the latter only). A common explanation is that the ground absorbs toxins, but I think there's a better reasoning. In nature, especially in places where most plants are loaded with poison such as rainforests, many animals seek out special clay pits or cliffsides to swallow some of it. This clay then bonds with the toxins they may have ingested and allows it to pass through the digestive system safely

A cool niche effect of poison that does and doesn't make much sense when considering the Venom Drench and Venoshock moves is that poison has TWO distinct status effects depending on which effect caused the poisoning. They can be either poisoned or BADLY poisoned. Badly poisoned of course simply being a more severe poisoning which deals more damage per turn, but interestingly enough, a Pokemon that has already been regularly poisoned cannot then become further BADLY poisoned. Which I think is odd. As far as I know, only 3 poison moves and the item Toxic Orb cause "Badly Poisoned", being Toxic, Poison Fang, Toxic Spikes (at two layers), and it's because of Toxic Spikes in particular that I think it's strange how poison cannot escalate. Because at a single layer down an entering grounded Pokemon becomes poisoned, but then once you set a second layer any further grounded opponents become BADLY poisoned, but a returning base poisoned Pokemon onto a two layer Toxic Spikes does not become more poisoned.

That’s how nature works. Anything attractive is also bad.
Another Lockstin and Gnoggin video that gives me an excuse to not go outside.
0:43 That reminded me that I'm allergic to cacti fruts because when I was a kid another kid throwed me one of those on the face and I ended up not able to open my eyelids because they were glued with a lot of rheum.
I try not to watch TOXIC things but I had to watch this one
WTF?
"Other videos your Audience watched".
0:05 wait he switched back to that avatar! i was gettin used to the new one but this one is a lot better
I forgot that Ariados even got a signature move...
Ariados has gotten multiple signature moves, problem is most of them are also learned by other mons. Ariados needs some love.
It actually got two. Spider Web was originaly Ariados' Signature Move. But as more spider pokémon were made they gave it Toxic Thread to make up for it.
7:58 Fun fact: even with Chernobyl, nuclear power causes *_less death_* per terrawatthour than even solar or wind, which do so due to maintenance accidents. Still, fossil fuels still cause WAY more deaths per terrawatthour than solar and wind, not to mention killing the environment.
I have hypersensitive nerves (a superpower _and_ a curse) and i've lived in the continental u.s. almost my entire life, and have _ALWAYS_ had some sort of sniffle or light cough, to the point where I thought it was normal.
Untill I visited to Hawai'i, where what little pollution _is_ created, thanks to proper pollution laws, is blown away by ocean winds, or absorbed by plants, algae, and waterborne microorganisms, because Ocean. And I've been all over the continental u.s., and I can confidently tell any u.s. citizen, that unless you have visited Hawai'i or abroad, *_you have NOT breathed a single breath of fresh air in your life!_* When I went there, my sniffle that i'd had for LITERAL DECADES went away in a _week!_ I could only breathe clean air for the first time in my _life_ in Hawai'i, all because some greedy corporate dirtbags are so uncaring that they constantly poison the great frontier of the u.s. just to earn a quick buck.
*_what the EXPLETIVE, humanity?!?_*
I mean sure a poison move would hurt but I'm kinda allergic to fire or drowning...
I'm glad to see that there are many of us deluxe fans watching lockstin
The only thing more toxic than the pokemon themselves it's a third of the pokemon fandom.
“All venom is poison, but not all poison is venom”
Venom:wait...so I’m just a stand in for poison, am I...irrelevant?!
"Why yes, i am a young adult male in the us that likes to play smash brothers and watch alpharad, how did you know? Oh . . . that's not creepy at all"
23:25 - 23:35
Alcremie: Whipped cream
Meltan: Mercury
Ice-types that learn Acid Armor: Literally ice
Vaporeon, Phione, and Manaphy: Melts into water
Muk: Is Muk
Lockstin: teaching me about different types of poison
Me: where can I find half of these for “reasons”
I probably just put myself on a watch list...
Better watch your back now.
some poisonous plants can be bought online, like various nightshade plants for example
You can get a bunch of apples and figure out how to extract the poison from the seeds. Possibly also Almonds.
4:40 I get butterflies are related to moths but poor butterfree not being acknowledged in the way it deserves I am here for the butterfree love
“It’s the initial stabbing pain, but always!”So... like, bad period cramps? That would definitely be on the worse-than average end of the spectrum, but certainly not uncommon. Bad enough to cause headaches, nausea, and even loss of consciousness? Yup.
More like a permanent state of childbirth... ouch.
@@marcoscolon5348 at least childbirth is only a few times in your life. Menstrual cramps could happen any month (although cases that severe are usually not *every* month, and if they are, that person should see a doctor)
Lockstin is so good doing voice overs, I was getting goose bumps being grossed out when he was describing g-malodor
Lockin:plant want their furit eaten but not them.
Me:is that ture have you not seen a orange tree and i think grapefruit they have like 1inch spikes on their branches.so do they want me to pick the fruit or not even lemons have spikes are furits trees a-holes?
11:31 I like to think when people do that to venomous snakes they are just like "well this just phuks"
"Most of you are male young adults. At least for now"
I know that the second part is referring to age, but I like how it can also be read in a trans context. Made me smile
26:26 Lockstin viewers watch OSP? Very cultured.
Toxicitry underrated.... I said it
Underrated?? Not at all? It's literally one of my the fandom's collectively favorite pokemon of the last decade
@@LucasF25 uhmmm what about sheep mf its more loved than toxicitry and i haven't seen that much toxicitry love out there
@@rollipolli642 Wooloo is adorable, toxicitry is edgy. We love them at different things
Toxtricity did get 2nd place in the 2020 Galar Pokemon of the Year poll.
@@LucasF25 Toxtricity has only been around for a year and a half lol
That Germany thing is probably simply because the number of bite related accidents in general is really low here. We simply don't have that many large or toxic predators and have really strict rules for dog ownership. So that probably makes the bites from children or drunk people account for more.
This vid is rather toxic :D
16:14 the fact that the truck has recicle propaganda makes it even funnier
1 view 8 comments. Huh. Sup my alien brudahs in area 51?
11:52 I think poison tail works the same way as dragon tail, i think it covers its tail in poison/venom and hits the target
I just realized how close you are to 1 mill, I've been here for a while and am happy to be with you to 1 mill
Acid Armor: Changes the pokemon at the celluar level
Cell use nucleus to know what purpose it is supposed to serve
Nuclues is made up of proteins
Proteins are made up of amino ACIDS
Thanks for listening to my TED Talk
15:35 This guy...I saw what you did there with Pokemon Sword & Shield. XD
You know how the large majority of Pokemon can learn Toxic?
Theory;
The Pokemon using it are not in fact using actual poison, but rather, they are trash-talking the victim. The victim gets angry and that anger poisons them.
