To be fair, there are only 28 elements that aren't classified as metals. And 10 of them are metalloids.

When it comes to Kartana, my personal explanation for the Steel typing is that it is made of a paper-like substance, but folded and compressed to a ridiculous degree. Ever tried ripping dozens of pieces of hyper-folded paper? It's pretty tough. And things like paper shivs have been made before in prisons, just fold paper over and over again until you have a tough point.

Like the person who answered the question says. Steel is a broad range of metal alloys, but for the sake of simplicity let's say it's iron ore heated together with carbon. Meteorites have both iron and carbonaceous elements within them, and as they are meteorites they've been through an atmosphere (let's just say Earth's atmosphere to simplify the occurs naturally portion of the statement). High heat, with iron and carbon equals some naturally occurring steel. Will it last? Probably not, though meteorites have other elements within them that generally resist corrosion.

There is actually an animal called the "scaly footed snail" or "iron snail" which has been recently discovered that has a shell that is composed of an iron compound, some are even magnetic. So the statement that no animal naturally utilizes organic metal isn't completely accurate. Just a fun fact.

This is what I think about Dialga's typing, so don't hate on me, but I think that the time space antimatter/gravity trio has the typing of the three states of matter, dialga is steel for solid state, palkia is water for liquid state, and giratina is ghost for the gas state.

Actually, Dialga is steel type for a different reason. Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina are supposed to also represent the states of matter, excluding plasma. This may also explain why Palkia is a water type and literally not anything else.

I kind of have to step in hear. The Sun is NOT mostly Iron and Hydrogen. It is almost entirely Hydrogen and _Helium._ Iron is the last element that will still give off energy when it is created via fusion. As such, stars that are a large percentage Iron are at the end of there lives like white dwarfs (which are still mostly Helium and have very little Iron) and, in 10 quadrillion years at the very least, black dwarfs. The Sun has less than 0.003% Iron.

Lockstin also messes up *a* *lot* of chemistry in this video. We don't have metal skeletons, for example, but skeletons made out of tissue and strengthened by mineral salts, which consist of ions and aren't metallic in their made-up.

Ferroseed and Ferrothorn also sounds very similar to Pharoah, and it matches as they are based on Durian, the King of fruits, which also happens to have a very hard shell. Honestly, the layers of puns in these 2 pokemon are elite level.

Dialga is also based on solids as giratina is based on gases and Palkia is based on liquid so that is why they are steel water and ghost
Regarding Durant: weaver ants have larval silk that they make their nests with. Spider silk is about 5x stronger than steel, so Durant could just continually cover itself in it’s silk to get that steel-like quality.

I heard somewhere (I believe it was Mythbusters) that some Samurai warriors would actually make their armor out of heavily folded paper, similar to oragami. This armor was stronger than some lowgrade steels and super lightweight. Perhaps Kartana is based of that?

well yes, but chess has always been seen as an allegory for war, and the design doesn't much look like a bishop, either the piece or the religious figure, so as ashigaru were the lowest level of the japanese medieval army, or the pawns, and the samurai were higher ups but not elites, that's what their images were based off of

Actually Dialga gets it's steel typing since Palkia is liquid, hence the water type, Giratina is gas, hence the ghost and Dialga is solid, hence the steel type

Mega Aggron is pure steel, and so included in the 5, and normal Aggron is mixed type, and so part of the 47. If you disregard Aggron's mega form, you get 4 + 47 = 51

Our Sun ist still in the Hydrogen to Helium phase. Iron is the last Phase a Star can produce.
Its Hydrogen -> Helium -> Carbon -> Neon -> Oxygen -> Silicon - > Iron

Whatever, I don't care how you wish to pluralize "supernova," though I default to supernovae). I could explain this, but if you watch Nova and such on the science channel, you'll know.
Point: any iron in the sun was there upon formation, and it most certainly is _not_ mostly iron. When it gets to be mostly HELIUM we'll have issues as it will then be nearing the end of its life.

While run-of-the-mill humans are probably Normal, not all of them are. The psychics you see around levitating pokeballs are psychic type, the fighter people are fighting-type, the creepy fairy girls are fairy type, the creepy hex maniacs are dark or MAYBE ghost type (though I would reserve ghost for the deceased), the fire-breathers (and such, like from Hoenn) are fire type, and their are probably more that I've forgotten or am to lazy to continue with.

Umm... sorry Lockstin, but you got some of your information wrong at 20:40. Our Sun is not mostly made of iron. It's made up of about 91% hydrogen and only about 0.03% iron. In fact, stars in general will almost immediately die once they start making iron. Once a star has made iron, there is no more energy available from nuclear fusion and it will die. I love your vids but because I've taken an Astronomy course, that was really bothering me.

Remember, if you imagine Probopass on top, the red nose, and the other heads, make there appear like a compass. The steel type could be relationad with the magnet pull (witch is also one of his abilities)
To help shed some light on Skarmory's tough wings, there's an entry from Silver:
"After nesting in bramble bushes, the wings of its chicks grow hard from scratches by thorns."
While not apparently growing into metal, it appears Skarmory possesses a "hard as steel" quality due to the nests they live in as chicks.

Bronzor and Bronzong aren't explained because they don't need to be. They're bronze. I mean it's pretty obvious, it's the main part of they're names.

Dialga is Steel to represent solid matter. Just like Palkia represents liquid with its Water type and Giratina represents gas with the Ghost type.

Of course, in lore eggs aren't said to be really eggs, but more like cradles of sorts, so uh ... take that as you will, if you can even make heads or tails of it.
Gameplay reasons.
Well, since the process of a Pokémon creating an egg is never shown (I always just assumed it worked like the Chao in the Sonic Adventure series) all I have is a little speculation.
However the shell is created, all it contains are the traces of the parents Infinity Energy (IF) make up.
Walking and warming the egg is helping it pull fresh IF out of the ether or wherever it comes from, allowing it to shape itself into the Pokémon it's mother is/used to be as well as giving it access to any potential Egg Moves.
The sounds and movement we note while the egg is hatching isn't the Pokémon, but rather the coalescing of the IF inside of it.
Finally, when it hatches, it bursts from the shell in a flash of light, similar to evolution, forming the new Pokémon.
I may have just made things more complicated...

Karrablast violently takes the Shell and fuses or clings to it as the Electrical current passes through the Pokémon and combines the two into a single entity.

Nihilist rock types are normally based on specific minerals whilst ground types are either things that live in the ground but don't exactly have to be minerals. Fossil mons are rock because fossils are found in literal rock. However, shuckle is a weird one, and not one I can explain because I know nothing about this mon other than that it makes juice, and it can deal the highest number of damage in the game (that record may've been beaten, but again, I'm not sure).

the reason karrablast evolves into escavalier is simple...the bug karrablast is based on eats snails(like shelmet) so when trading the two, karrablast attempts to eat shelmet but only has enough time to eat its shell, so it puts it to use and makes it into armour
so when shelmet's shell is eaten its obviously bruised so it patches up and since it doesnt have to carry that shell aroundm its pretty quick turning it into accelgor

So I'm really bothered by you stating our sun is mostly made up of iron and not hydrogen. Our sun is nowhere near that phase and won't be for another billions of years. If you have a source on that it would be greatly appreciated.
I noticed that too. The Sun won't run out of hydrogen for billions of years, and even then it's gotta fuse helium into carbon, etc etc then eventually iron. By that point it would have expanded into a red giant anyway. So no, you're right, the sun isn't made of mostly iron at all.
While it's true that the Sun isn't mostly made of iron, it is wrong to say that it produces no iron until it becomes a red giant, because it does contain some iron, but only in a very small amount. I've noticed a lot of these videos have factual incorrect information. While on the whole his videos are 90%+ correct, when he is wrong it sticks out horribly. If our sun were mostly iron it would collapse in on itself.

Magnemite, Beldum, and Klink probably don't have traditional organic parts inside them, though it's possible they have nanomachines similarly to blood cells, except for transfer of processed energy. I think these would be composed of a mix of these nanomachine "cells", and more static machinery "organs" that may or may not be built out of these nanomachine "cells". I think they count as alive. I've not previously seen "has cells" be considered an important part of the definition of whether something is alive, just a common characteristic of all life we know of. Then again, most times I've heard the definition be discussed, are from when the characters in a sci-fi show are pondering it.
