Scorch going from the funny clone of delta to a cold imperial enforcer is both scary and tragic. I can only imagine the fate of the rest of Delta Squad. If Sev is still missing, there’s a chance he’s avoided Order 66 and could be living in peace or trying to find the rest of his brothers. But chances are Boss and Fixer are in one of those other training facilities like Gregor escaped from.
Delta squad itself has been considered Canon, yes. However, scorch is the only confirmed member to have been carried over from Legends so far. As far as we know, sev, boss, and fixer, may very well not even exist in this universe or timeline. Scorch may never have even been funny in this universe. He might have just been a pyromaniac with sev's personality. Which is kind of cursed to think about, but we don't know how Disney has the backgrounds written for the members of Delta squad, or if they're even is a backstory anymore. They might just be background characters at this point. It's sad, but leave it to Disney to destroy everyone's childhoods.
In Legends and the Republic Commando game, Sev went MIA (technically KIA) because he was swarmed by an army of droids on Kashyyyk. I thought that’s why Scorch sounds so monotone like a normal trooper.
A drill sergeant is usually the nicest person you’ll ever meet in the military. Sergeant dap from Enders game is a good example of a real one. I genuinely hope we get some sort of arc with Scorch. He *was* the heart of Delta squad. To have him credited as in the show and not do anything with him would be criminal. But I seriously doubt his presence there will amount to anything more than a cameo character so they can have a unique clone commando with an already established backstory. Rather than going through the hassle of making a "new" background clone commando, with his own shallow backstory, to stand out among the sea of blank commandos. The Commando Books were an amazing read... I was hopping the Bad Batch would play more into the last book... and it's a shame we didn't get more, but i understand the reasoning
The problem is that the Republic Commando novel series by Karyn Travis and HER version of Mandalorian history and culture are at odds with Dave Filoni’s, so much so that she has completely disavowed her famous works and refuses to work with Lucasfilm or Disney.
honestly the more that I think about the whole bad batch concept feels like a slap in the face from filoni to Travis and the fans of her series and other star wars works. (not that you can't enjoy the bad batch for what they are.) You have squad in black Katarn style armor and a character joins their squad named... Omega... On top of that we got a throw away scene in CW to "disney" canonize Delta squad's and RCs existence only to have them turned into yet another throw away bad guy in the latest show... Who knows though, maybe I've just read to much into it. lol
Obviously Scorch is different (and presumably strongly affected by an inhibitor chip, given his total personality shift), but my suspicion is that the platoons of clone commandos under Hemlock's control are mostly not true commandos from the war. I think that a lot of them are regs that were assessed to have a particularly high degree of loyalty, were given upgraded armor and maybe some extra training and then used as special project guards. This would explain why there are suddenly so many of them, and why they are primarily security guards rather than acting like true special forces.
@@PrograError Its a good headcanon explanation for why most of the unmarked Clone Commandos do not match Scorch in terms of combat competence, when they should be very similar even if Delta Squad members are the cream of the crop.
I would say that out of the entirety of Delta, Scorch actually WOULD make sense for working under the empire. Throughout the game Scorch is usually the one who talks about the rules despite his funny jokes and personality. And even then it makes sense for him to be like that despite his archetype of demolitions expert/funny guy trope, because in reality, the demolitions expert should be extremely up to code because if he isn't well... Kabloowie!
It's pretty crazy to think that the Clone Commandos were at first the only clones with autonomy and individual thinking, not subject to the programming imposed on the other clones on Kamino. Unfortunately, the way Filoni represented the clones in TCW makes the Commandos feel less special.
Even if it makes the commandos slightly less unique, it makes every other clone into an actual character. I personally see that as a win, but if you don’t then that’s fine.
@@mitchellbambam5926it doesn’t have to be one or the other though, the republic commando novels proved this perfectly. and clones were actual characters long before commandos entered any of the shows
The big problem is that if he didn’t the clones wouldn’t have been able to carry a show of that length. The only reason it worked in the 2003 version was that it was made up of short animations. If the clones had been like that in the 2008 show it would’ve gotten too repetitive.
I’m so glad you made this video. Truly! The fact that we don’t see Scorch leaning towards rebelling or even any mention of Delta Squad….. This video reminds me that there may be hope
It is heart breaking to see Delta squad end up in shambles and Scorch as a cold imperial enforcer. Republic Commando is still one of my favorite games of all time and a big part of my childhood.
Scorch is still one of my favourite characters in the whole SW universe and it's so uncharacteristic of him to be in this kind of role. Fixer would've been a much better choice for this. His potential is entirely wasted for cheap fanservice.
I just finished playing republic commando for the first time and I completely agree. Fixer is far more obedient than the other deltas. He always talks down to Sev and Scorch and instructs them to cut the chatter while on mission. He was also heavily against risking the mission and going back for Sev at the end of the game, instead choosing to follow direct orders from grand master yoda. I would be completely on board if I saw Fixer join the empire in The Bad Batch. With Scorch I feel like hes there only for fan service. If they actually cared about his character they would make him actually sound and look like the Scorch we all know and like.
I lowkey think we might have already seen live action Omega and members of the Bad Batch. Omega and the Bad Batch might be part of the Mando Survivors from Mando Season 3. Joining an Anti-Empire Mando Clan to keep Omega safe is pretty logical for Clone Commandos.
i think you can also ID Scorch via the different gray patterns on his helmet compared to the other commandos. the others all have a vertical stripe of gray down the forehead, whereas Scorch has a full white forehead and a thinner grey stripe under his nose.
On the subject of the commandos and the sense of loyalty (or lack thereof in the Empire) darkhorse published a comic called Darth Vader and the Lost Command that focuses on a group of Rogue Commandos. It's very entertaining and a really good read from the 2010s era of Star Wars comics.
I actually wish that Fixer was the one to be the Imperial Commando. Scorch is simply too out of left field, and not to mention it would be an opportunity to flesh out Fixer more.
I like to think the clone commandos like scorch are a reflection of veteran soldiers who started off knowing what they were getting into but didnt have it really set in until they had years of experience. The years of losing your brothers in arms and how much ptsd takes a toll on soldiers is really shown. The average person hears stories of how soldiers go to war and comeback completely different while still being driven towards the original cause. I like to think scorch is a great example of this. He had a fun and quirky personality at 1st but then moved onto a more serious and emotionless soldier by the time he joined the empire. By the time he was working for the newly established empire he had years of experience and loss. His ability to think and learn for himself outside of the mission paragotives really must put a strain on his mind and thought process. I like to think these types of soldiers continue to work and put in max effort to their known cause because if they dont the emotional baggage will all come crashing down. It ironically gives them hope or a reason to go on. Yet it is also a double bladed sword because it can lead to their emotions clouding their judgement. I say "also" because the average storm trooper who knows only how to follow orders has a double edged sword in being that they need to be told how to act. If the orders given are faulty than it can lead to disaster for the storm trooper. Making them not much better than a droid. Thats why as mentioned on geonosis when given poor orders by the jedi order who did not know how to utilize their skill sets effectively they took a lot of hard hits.
That was something I personally didn’t like about the republic commando game. They’re all supposed to be clones but three of them have vastly different voices. You could argue that’s the case with Dee Bradley Baker and Temuera but I see that as them trying to have Jango and Boba as a direct representation of father and son. While the clones are like the step children/siblings in the middle. I prefer how it is now with Dee slightly changing the tones and accents but still sounding like clones.
@@neofulcrum5013 thats fair and it always seemed weird to me how different his voice was from any other clone, but it did contribute to his sense of personality in the game.
@@neofulcrum5013 I always interpreted it that Delta Squad mostly sound like other clones, but the clones themselves are so used to hearing Temura/Dee's voice that they are sensitive to minute changes in order to tell apart individuals. To an outsider, Delta Squad all sound the same, but to a brother, their voices are distinctive. Since the player is seeing things from Boss's perspective, they hear the squad's voices as if they were physically different people.
@@neofulcrum5013 i have read that it was done to make the identification of each squad member easier. Supposedly they actually were meant to have the same voice as boss, but play testers from back then reported that it was hard to tell who was who, so they went back and hired individual VAs for each member. So, the likely reason for different voices is strictly tied to the game itself, rather than any lore explanation.
Prior to Episode II, I always imagined that the Jedi fighting in smaller commando squads during the War. Something similar to how they introduced the BB, with two Jedi and a small squad of commandos.
I just assumed that the control chips in the Commandos were still functioning and that's why they were going along with this. I also figure that's why Scorch is why he is in this version of the character instead of what we saw in the (now non-canon) Republic Commando.
Ngl, although Karen Traviss became quite controversial, I wish she didn't leave Star Wars before finishing the Republic Commando books because of her disagreement with Filoni's vision for the Mandalorians and clones. Filoni trying to force TCW into the old continuity is one of the worst things that has happened to Legends
I couldn't have said it better. Filoni can be great when constrained, but when he gets unsupervised he just wreaks havoc on the continuity. He doesn't care about established lore only his own creations.
The scene that really stick out to me is the one at 2:42 - 2:47 it's almost as if Scorch is waiting for 38's command to move out. He probably wasn't happy with the Republic but to me it feels like he would go awol like cody, rex and the other clones if he could but he's never had the opportunity to do so since he's always stationed at major black sites for the empire training the TK's
You do realise that Scorch is only 13 or 14 years old, right? If he trained CF99 before the war ended, that would make them 3 or younger. And their brains don't develop any faster. Behind all of the behavioural programming and brainwashing, the clones are mentally still becoming teenagers. Remember, clones were engineered to age *twice* as fast as normal people, no faster than that. Otherwise for Scorch to have trained CF99 at all, they'd have to look even younger than Omega, and would probably still be learning how to put their own clothes on.
It's important to note that while delta squad itself is canon, the event of the game have not been declared canon. We have no confirmation if Sev is alive or not.
I see "Scorch" joining CF99. They are a Unit that needs 6 Parts Omega as the Older Smarter Sister who can think they out of a lot of "issues". Hunter as the Leader, Echo as the Comms Specialist. Wrecker The Explosive Specialist, and CrossHairs as the Shooter. With the addition of "Scorch" they know have a larger network of Loyal Contacts to add to theirs. But they get to add back the Missing Man since Tech fell.
I’m thinking that scorch is seeing this job with the empire has his chance to relax after years of fighting but it would be cool to see delta squad to get back together and join Rex
Another thing about Commandos was that they grew up in a Mandalorian setting and culture, they knew the language and culture and thought of it as theirs
They were the finest soldiers in the galaxy, and unlike the "batch" created by Filoni, the Commando squads were the ones that actually had the storyline that showed they broke away from the Empire and rebelled to save their brothers, sadly, this story was trampled upon by the batch show and went so far as to presume a Delta Squad member as a lackey with little in the way of the personality that we would love to have seen.
The first time I saw Return of the Jedi, in theatre during the original run, when Palpatine exploded I already assumed that was the Sith version of what Yoda did at the beginning of the film. So I was always expecting him to come back. The Sith method of becoming one with the Dark Side and retaining consciousness has to be a violent reflection of the Jedi method. Before Qui-Gon the Jedi didn't know or had forgotten how to do it. Prior to Siddious the Sith means of preserving consciousness has been to anchor to a physical object, like the Helmet of Darth Momin, who designed Vader's castle via host bodies before he tried to take out Vader. Like Qui-Gon, Palpatine found a way to get there without an object. The Sith explodes instead of fading peacefully, and I'd imagine if he hadn't been thrown down that shaft he'd have killed Luke and Vader when he blew so Sith Bonus. Thing is, Palpatine isn't going to be satisfied as a disembodied spirit, everyone always knew that. That is why the Dark Horse Comics story Star Wars Dark Empire exists. It takes place 6 years after ROTJ and Palpatine has been surviving in a succession of clone bodies, but he wants something more permanent, Leia's unborn child. Luke even becomes his apprentice for a while.
I want to see more Clones working for the Empire because the Clones are always shown as wanting to be (Imperial) soldiers in The Bad Batch, so it would make sense for the Empire to employ them, especially since they dedicate so much manpower to walking around in formations.
I think the bad batch being tested on kamino really showed tarkin why specialized clones were the way to go. but to still have control over them hence the clone commandos still being very used after the imperial takeover compared to regular clones
George Lucas said that if he and lucasarts went down, that the fans would be the last true voice of what should and should not be canon. When Disney took over, that took place and now we are the last voice. I appreciate your focus on legends as the way it should be in this video. As we see Disney deliberately trying to warp Star Wars, we have to make our own choices of what is correct or not correct.
So I have a theory. The Bad Batch is actually Filioni trying to canonize Omega Squad. Omega was unofficially known as Niner's Squad, where Niner had Omega's position of the one who was doing the wellness checks and helping the other squad members work through their Issues. I think Omega may also partially take the place of Etain being that she is likely Force Sensitive, being that she is highly empathic. If this is the case then the Bad Batch are literally Omega Squad. You have Crosshair who is Fi down to the head injury and not being as capable as he was previous. Echo, who represents Corr with the prothetic arm. Tech who is a more Asperger-y version of Atin with his developing romance. I think Wrecker is supposed to represent Etains initial assessment of Omega's squad feeling like a bunch of children in the force because of their under developed psyches, he also picks up Darmans Demolitions Expert position. Hunter is just Rambo.
so to clarify my first point. Omega is filling Niner's position on the team. In the books Omega squad is also known as "Niner's squad". Being that Omega is filling Niner's role it makes "The Bad Batch" litterally "Omega squad".
I'm pretty sure he was pissed because of Yoda giving new orders when they wanted to save Sev. I'm sure he wasn't all happy about that and maybe was an easy catch when Order 66 came in
The Clones are heroes and victims of the Republic and Empire. They and especially Delta deserved better. I still wished I could have saved our brother, there was no better shot in our group.
Just think of how depressed the situation Scorch is in right now. He cannot make a funny line or even joke around anymore like in the days of the Republic and have to keep this role as the silent imperial enforcer for all days and nights in the public. So between his current job and being replaced like the other clones, which one sounds worse here?
Ever since scorch appeared in bad batch I wondered why it wasn’t Boss in that command role. It doesn’t make sense to have to cut-up funny guy to be the right hand man of hemlock instead of the leader of delta squad
For now my headcanon for Scorch is that either he and the other Commandos are brainwashed by their inhibitor chips like Crosshair was at first, but the effect wore off quickly for Crosshair and he had his removed but chose to stay with the Empire, while the COmmandos are brainwashed, this erased Scorch's more lighthearted peronality, or there's just sometheign about the indocrination process or their genetics that made Commandos more likely to remain loyal with the ones we see at Mount Tantus screened for loyalty and brought in because of this, with Gregor seemign lyal only to turn o the EMpire after seeing what his trainees were for. And for Scorch it could be that with the loss of Sev it basically "broke" him, and he no longer chares about the lives of the Regs enough to stand against the Empire. I seriously hope we get soon a good look into the mind of a Commando, especially Scorch. War can cause all kinds of trauma to a person, for Scorch it could be the loss of Sev broke him so he's now Careless and mission focused. We need a remake of Republic Commando with a graphics and gamepley (optional) upgrade, and chabging enemy units to better fit into canon, and even add tons of new story missions that interweave into the Clone Wars tv show. THey can either keep the original voices just so it's easier to tell who's talking and maybe even add in an option to have Dee Bradly Baker just do all the voices of the Clones so you can do which one you prefer, and the game ends with an epilogue showing Delta being split up and Scorch going to Mount Tantus.
12:07 a lot of people pointed out the fact that the "Clone Commandos" we see in the Bad Batch feel like "regs on steroids"...except for Scorch, who appears to be way better than the rest of the CCs we see. I pondered if that could be because Scorch is a veteran from as early as the very start of the war, the Battle Of Geonosis, whereas the other commandos are younger and more inexperienced, a newer batch churned out to train TK troopers and serve as security forces (the guys we see with the gray markings, the Imperial Royal Guard, not to be confused with the Emperor's red-clad bodyguards) before they grow too old due to their accelerated aging. But this makes sense, too. In a shortage of clone commandos, the Empire must've retrofitted regs into commandos by giving them better armor, better training and Bacta processing implants. I think in Legends, there was a clone trooper who served alongside Omega Squad, Corr, a reg with prosthetic arms, who received a "commando upgrade" like that. But despite their new perks, these guys are still not the same as "OG" Commandos like Scorch, they're not bred to have that rebellious, "outside the box" thinking. Temuera Morrison, the actor who plays Jango, Boba and voices Boss from Republic Commando, has said that Boss is the clone closest to a Jango Fett himself (barring Boba, who's an unaltered clone who doesn't have accelerated aging), speaking with a similar accent, mannerisms, and generally sharing Jango's sardonic sense of humor. I think this is also why Scorch wasn't given an all-white or IRG suit of armor. His markings are now meant not for individuality, but to differentiate him from his "inferior" quasi-commando brethren. So that an Imperial officer like Hemlock could take one quick glance at him and know: "Ah, this commando is one of the few remaining original commandos, a veteran from the Battle Of Geonosis, we could make good use of him while he's still viable". There's a reason why Hemlock has made Scorch his right-hand man - he knows he's better. This is also why, I believe, we don't see Boss and Fixer by Scorch's side. OG Commandos are few and far between, so the Empire has peppered them sparingly among its forces - one, two or three per no less than a platoon (Scorch, Gregor and maybe one more commando were the only OG commandos on the training facility on Daro - the rest were "retrofitted regs"). There's also the fact that Republic Commandos generally operate in squads of four, but that's not necessarily how Imperial Commandos are structured. We see them operate in larger, platoon-sized groups (about 20 to 50 operatives). The Empire also likely wanted to separate ex-teammates to remove any feeling of comradery between them. It wants Imperial Commandos to be loyal to the Empire, not to each other. Scorch is a brilliant example - he almost rebelled against his orders to leave Sev behind on Kashyyyk, and that was probably taken note of. We see that Scorch no longer sports the anti-armor cannisters on his body, and that instead of talking with his higher-pitched voice (the one voiced by Raphael Sbarge), he instead speaks with the generic clone voice. I think there are several reasons why Delta squad spoke with different voices (I think their helmet has a voice-changing function, similar to Vader's helmet giving him that booming, intimidating, James Earl Jones voice) - not just for the sake of individuality, the way their armor is painted differently, but also practicality. Keep in mind, Delta squad were sent on covert special operations deep into enemy territory, where it would be them against the enemy. While they could potentially encounter clones, Wookiees or other allies, or be given air support by an LAAT/i gunship, they'd do their mission on their own, and it certainly helps in a tactical situation to know who's talking to you at any given time. Because he serves as a commander and bodyguard to Hemlock, and not a special operative that's part of a 4-man team, Scorch was probably told to turn this feature off. As for why Scorch doesn't turn on the Empire, given that we know what a rebellious and witty individual he can be? I think this has to do with Delta squad having to leave Sev on Kashyyyk. As cliched as it may sound, a part of Scorch was also lost with Sev, that day. When the Jedi ordered Delta squad to pull out and didn't give them the chance to go after Sev while he was getting overwhelmed by droids, Scorch became bitter and cynical. Then Order 66 went into effect, shortly after, and the Republic became an Empire. Scorch realized that, Empire or Republic, his superiors view him and his brothers not as individuals, but as mere assets. So even though he probably, deep down, loathes the TK troopers as being unworthy replacements of clones, especially clone COMMANDOS, he has begrudgingly made peace with the fact that all he, Boss and Fixer will ever be, are tools in the hands of those who command them, eventually to be thrown away when wearing out. Why doesn't he rebel against the Empire? And go where? Hope for what? That the Empire will be overthrown one day and that a new regime might come about, one that treats clones as people? The way the Jedi so cruelly disregarded Sev, in his eyes, leads Scorch to believe that, whatever system he or his brothers are under, they will always be considered, not unlike droids, mere weapons of war and nothing else. And with his accelerated aging, he doesn't have much left to live, to enjoy living, anyway. In his eyes, clone rebels such as Gregor or the eponymous Bad Batch, are idealists, foolishly trying to avoid the inevitable. There's also the fact that Clone Force 99 have each other. Crosshair always had it, in the back of his mind, that his brothers (and sister) would accept him if he turned on the Empire. Scorch is separated from his old Delta buddies. And even if he could defect, there's no guarantee that Fixer and Boss (even if he somehow managed to find them) would follow him, instead of detaining him or gunning him down for his treachery against the Empire. So there's that. Scorch has no support system. But much like Crosshair, Scorch is not beyond convincing. Especially if Sev survived and rebelled against the Empire. If Scorch and Sev met again - one as an Imperial, the other as a rebel, I bet Scorch would turn on the Empire in an instant. He'd be given...hope.
La verdadera razon por la cuales eran leale al imperio es porque ellos no rebeldes e independientes(eso eran los ARC) y los comando clon son literalmente " reg con esteroides "
I suspect the Clone Assassin is actually an imperfect Crosshair clone, and a future imperfect Crosshair clone, embedded with Midiclorians might very well be the basis for Snoke, who looks very similar to him. Maybe they'll say that injecting the midiclorians into cloned bodies cause the deformations and degradations seen in Snoke and later Palpantine's decaying clone body.
Considering the loss of Tipoca City, he'd probably understand needing non-clone troopers. Also possibly considered the life-span of the units, like against the CIS there were constant significant losses so his clone brethren's short life span wouldn't be an issue, but this new Empire is supposed to last and these new troops aren't expected to be chewed through as quickly. Better investment to teach skills to. If he were aware of the numbers CIS vs GAR, order 66, and the dissolution of the CIS in short order he'd know that he is still working for the same force.
They pretty much are the death trooper equivalent. Special forces troopers that are assigned to guard high value targets I mean Palaptine is rly invested in Hemlok work so having your best troops guarding it makes sense.
Unlike clones I imagined clone commandos have done some insane stuff. Stuff that reg clones like Rex wouldn’t approve of in the name of the republic. Which would probably explain these commandos loyalty. The things the empire does will make make regs question it but to commandos it’s just another job.
we need an “Imperial Commandos” game as a sequel to republic commandos, set at similar period to bad batch following them through imperial missions n maybe defecting?
I'm currently rewatching the clone wars and just finished the umbara arc. Am I the only one that found it incredibly frustrating that there's no satisfying conclusion to that story? The fact that the clones massacre each other, losing a recognisable character in Waxer in the process, no characters seem to acknowledge the incident. What did Anakin, Obi wan or Cody think of what happened to their men? We never hear what happens to Dogma surely there was a trial? What did the Jedi Council make of Pong Krells turn? I find it frustrating every time I watch 😂 is there any lore out there that ties this story up?

On top of that we got a throw away scene in CW to "disney" canonize Delta squad's and RCs existence only to have them turned into yet another throw away bad guy in the latest show...
Who knows though, maybe I've just read to much into it. lol
the reasoning is Filoni sucks b@lls and Disney is destroying what's left of the franchise.
This would explain why there are suddenly so many of them, and why they are primarily security guards rather than acting like true special forces.
so you are saying they are likely just normal clones just more upgraded, but like ARCs ...
I mean tbh it was not bad. It did nake sense
Even if it makes the commandos slightly less unique, it makes every other clone into an actual character. I personally see that as a win, but if you don’t then that’s fine.
Naw thats the arc troopers, legends arcs at least
Ah yes. Someone has to train the future demolition experts that it's red red green. Wait, no... red green red.
I need a Republic Commando remake or sequel
I want to see Quinlan Vos leading Clone Commandos series
Me too but after Disney has been destroyed!
My bets are still on commando's inhibitor enhancing procedure, like they did to Crosshair.
They did my boy Scorch dirty in the Bad Batch. Rest easy.
damn this video is spot on i was wondering what where the commandos doing with the tk troopers in empire bases without normal clones
I'd argue Arc troopers or Clone Commanders are a FAR better fit to train TK troopers than Commandos
Cody trained them in legends. As well as clones.
Let’s just be glad they didn’t
ARC troopers are too independent to be a drill Sergent.
Null ARCs, Alpha ARCs & RepComs are the best clone troopers in GAR!
Yesssss. Love the Commando books. Great video!
Bro, that analogy about the crackhead gold 🥇🥇
Who played Delta Squad game here?
Me.
I am currently playing it I got the Star Wars pack classics game for Christmas so I’ve been playing that and KOTOR
everyone has.
I get they probably had to, but kinda bothers me they changed Scorch’s voice
@@michaelramon2411that makes more sense, it is probably a similar thing with the Bad Batch, seeing them from a clone's perspective.
New sadness achieved
Well this did not age well for Scortch considering what happened to him in bad batch. He didn’t deserve to go out like that

Not really controversial, she was right. And she was a fsr better writer than most . On lar with James Luciano

that analogy about fighting rules 😭
The scene that really stick out to me is the one at 2:42 - 2:47 it's almost as if Scorch is waiting for 38's command to move out. He probably wasn't happy with the Republic but to me it feels like he would go awol like cody, rex and the other clones if he could but he's never had the opportunity to do so since he's always stationed at major black sites for the empire training the TK's
Only two years into the empire and they’ve gotten rid of 80-90% of clones which is actually insane
It would’ve been interesting if Scorch was Clone Force 99’s training sergeant to prove they’re Commando material
Wow😮 your content is amazing
great video
hear me out, make an olive green commando with a bright blue astromech buddy with dark blue details called CT-NA
Oh shit I didn't even know the new season dropped until 00:29, thanks a bunch for the reminder lmao
Another thing about Commandos was that they grew up in a Mandalorian setting and culture, they knew the language and culture and thought of it as theirs
I really wish they would have went with the Ark where they found Sev and started helping the rebellion.
My theory is Scorch is the way he is because the rest of Delta has been killed off, which is why we don't see them or any trace of them.
Allen right before this video was off screen doing some bong ripper magoose
6:58 that's a good point I didn't think of
I want to see more Clones working for the Empire because the Clones are always shown as wanting to be (Imperial) soldiers in The Bad Batch, so it would make sense for the Empire to employ them, especially since they dedicate so much manpower to walking around in formations.
Thanks for the video
I love most of the Bad Batch ( Cross Hair is a bit of a physco ), but a have a special place in my heart for Wrecker. 👍
I think the bad batch being tested on kamino really showed tarkin why specialized clones were the way to go. but to still have control over them hence the clone commandos still being very used after the imperial takeover compared to regular clones
there should be some kind of contest were the top 3-5 get to table top rp sw with Alan.
There is also the Purge Troopers.
True
George Lucas said that if he and lucasarts went down, that the fans would be the last true voice of what should and should not be canon. When Disney took over, that took place and now we are the last voice. I appreciate your focus on legends as the way it should be in this video. As we see Disney deliberately trying to warp Star Wars, we have to make our own choices of what is correct or not correct.
The TK stormtroopers armour reminds me of the Ralf Mcquarry concept art for the original film. Coincidence?
No. Just about as intentional as anything can be.
Heard most Clone Commandos became Mandalorians instead since they were trained by some.
Now we need some Organize, Train and Equip (OT&E) through the acquisitions life cycle!! 😅🎉 We need some DAU folks in here!!!

such a nice analisis of canon and legends.
The Clones are heroes and victims of the Republic and Empire. They and especially Delta deserved better. I still wished I could have saved our brother, there was no better shot in our group.
It would of made sense if it was the Coruscant Guard in place of the commandos.
Thanks Alan 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
3:35 I believe they used to call that esprit de corps
I do wonder where's the rest of Delta Squad?
So that an Imperial officer like Hemlock could take one quick glance at him and know:
"Ah, this commando is one of the few remaining original commandos, a veteran from the Battle Of Geonosis, we could make good use of him while he's still viable".
La verdadera razon por la cuales eran leale al imperio es porque ellos no rebeldes e independientes(eso eran los ARC) y los comando clon son literalmente " reg con esteroides "
ah one of the deluxe models
I suspect the Clone Assassin is actually an imperfect Crosshair clone, and a future imperfect Crosshair clone, embedded with Midiclorians might very well be the basis for Snoke, who looks very similar to him. Maybe they'll say that injecting the midiclorians into cloned bodies cause the deformations and degradations seen in Snoke and later Palpantine's decaying clone body.
How the Regs looks at a Commando: DELUXE MODEL
Considering the loss of Tipoca City, he'd probably understand needing non-clone troopers. Also possibly considered the life-span of the units, like against the CIS there were constant significant losses so his clone brethren's short life span wouldn't be an issue, but this new Empire is supposed to last and these new troops aren't expected to be chewed through as quickly. Better investment to teach skills to.
If he were aware of the numbers CIS vs GAR, order 66, and the dissolution of the CIS in short order he'd know that he is still working for the same force.
Clone Commandos; from the best of the best to glorified security guards in the Empire :(
They pretty much are the death trooper equivalent. Special forces troopers that are assigned to guard high value targets I mean Palaptine is rly invested in Hemlok work so having your best troops guarding it makes sense.
Functionally, Clone Commandos are like ODSTs with energy shielding.
It would have made more sense for them to use Boss in the place of Scorch i believe.
We need more Kal Skirata references!!
I still don't understand why so many commands suddenly appear out of nowhere. they couldn't use them before in the clone wars series.
Hope scorch sees the light and saves himself from the empires endless abuses
Unlike clones I imagined clone commandos have done some insane stuff. Stuff that reg clones like Rex wouldn’t approve of in the name of the republic.
Which would probably explain these commandos loyalty. The things the empire does will make make regs question it but to commandos it’s just another job.
And filoni took all the clone commando lore and said. “Nah let’s make them basically stormtroopers in clone commando armor”
we need an “Imperial Commandos” game as a sequel to republic commandos, set at similar period to bad batch following them through imperial missions n maybe defecting?

The entire story of the clones is just one big tragedy.
