This glitch is also very useful for getting the 100-Coin shine as once you get the 9 or so coins in that room, you can easily jump out toward the waterfall.

I accidentally did this once while trying to get the spring out of the corner. I clipped, then was at a shine sprite. It was a welcome surprise.
