i honestly really like dragon age 2 mainly for how the story is told from Varric to Cassandra. The chemistry these two have when talking and arguing is fun and a great storytelling device
Fun note; initially da:2 and inquisition were to be 2 parts of the same game, with hawke in the role of inquisitor, but fan backlash over the lack of creative control over hawke prompted bioware to make inquisition about a seperate character. The prophecy by flemeth in da:2 further confirms this, as hawke was initially supposed to drink from the well of sorrows and transform into a dragon himself, not morrigan.
Interesting..... I believe that this I the 1st time I have heard this tidbit, though with the line Flemeth made to hawk about having to leap to see if you could fly, I would’ve thought that hawke would’ve been the one to canonical be the one left in the fade and this to be potentially brought up later potentially in DA4. Though this would’ve been a massively different game. And would it have worked for a non mage hawke to become a dragon? And it would’ve made more sense for morrigan to become a dragon as her default specialty in origins is shape shifting.
I really wish they just let us have that power on at least one character. Seeing Morrigan do it was both awesome and made me green with envy. Perhaps the next character will be so lucky. But probably not. It's not really on dev's minds anymore to make players feel awesome. :(
Anyone realised this was what Varric and Cassandra argued about at Skyhold in inquisition? Maybe I'm just really stupid and didn't notice this before (since I didn't play DA2) but this is quite awesome. This is exactly the scene they were talking about.
Chayenne Oosterveld I’ve only played through inquisition once so far, due to playing on the Xbox 360, and the fear that my Xbox would catch fire just playing the game. Though if I do have time to do so, ( and I mean a TON of time, ) I would definitely do a LP of inquisition and the xbone version. Though I’d also would probably do a dragon keep recap episode as it’s been sooo long since I did origins and it will be a bit since I did this one.but yeah your completely right about that observation.

For everyone's entertainment, I'm working on a Dragon Age 2 Reboot and one idea that my sister and I worked on is using the whole "Narration" idea to add a bit of humor. Not during the cutscenes mind you, during the Game Over Screens. Taking a leaf out of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time every time you die in the game and cut to the game over screen we get comments from Varric and Cassandra on how we clearly didn't die during this part of the game. And have a number of hidden Easter eggs if you die a lot during, say, the Dragon at the Bone Pit Varric will comment that this fight was so hard that if felt like they died several times during the fight. There would also be a little mini arc as Cassandra starts off getting annoyed with Varric at the start of the game but at the end she's become invested and gets worried Hawke and co actually died. And other funny bits like having one line of Varric saying "And then we all mercurially got back up and continued the fight like nothing happened." Or "So we decided to play dead until they lowered their guard." Sometimes this will be removed like during the boss fight with the Serial Killer who killed our mom and other serious moments.
