I like to see how Morrigan's attitude to dog is changing as the journey goes until eventually she even starts to give him treats. Also, there is a detail from the "Witch Hunt" DLC that no one seems to notice. When the company finds Morrigan, the hound is the first one to dash towards her merrily and she leans down to pet him looking quite happy. I was even amazed when I saw that scene in my first playthrough because during the main campaign I didn't even have a dog.
Wynne's speech about mabari being able to speak but knowing not to reminds me of folk tales of orangutans in Borneo. People say that orangutans can speak and have human intelligence, but don't speak to humans because humans would put them to work.
Considering that dai: trespasser takes place 13 years after the first game he’s more than likely gone, storvacker on the other hand is probably still alive

Honestly part of the reason I romanced Morrigan in spite of the entire party warning against it was because Dog liked her. Ultimately Dog was an excellent judge of character.

Oghren's talk with the Mabari about a Mabari team of Charioteers, it's a cool idea he has, one slight drawback as I know about Chariots in general, if he had a Mabari Chariot team, he fights his foes as they charge into battle and all, Oghren would need a driver too, Charoting is the most physically demanding thing you can do, I've seen it myself, you need to find your balance as you ride it, using both legs to stand upright and command the horses, or in this case, the Mabaris, to go where they need to go and plus, in Oghren's case, as a Warrior Caste Dwarf, with a two-handed battleaxe into battle, there is also the need for both hands to either strike the enemy as he described or even steer the Chariot in a straight line or otherwise, you can't do both really, unless you had a driver with you to help you. So, yeah, this is something that sounds cool, but, it sounds like it has a few flaws to his plans with that in mind.
What's funny is that Morrigan likely understands him as if he was speaking Common. Her being a shape-shifter and running with beasts, she probably understands him without issue
I recall there is another dialogue with Morrigan when she was furious about doggo brought her a dead creature and put it in her lingerie. She said panties were ruined and she had to throw it away. One of the reply lines allowed to ask if she's going to travel pantiless😂 It is in the early game stage when main character interacts with doggo in the camp
I hate the idea that my Warden's Mabari hound has grown old by the time Trespasser happens. I'd prefer Mabari have longer lifespans than average dogs. It would be fun if my Warden's hound met Hawke's.

It's as she said she grew up with wild creatures not domesticated mage bred ones. Yeah Barkspawn is still a dog at heart but he's also extremely intelligent, something most wild creatures really aren't.
I like to believe that in the same way a hound master wouldn’t be able to handle a wolf properly Morrigan couldn’t handle dog due their domestication Wild creatures are unpredictable because of their self-interest, a wolf that “helps you” take down a deer might take your chosen part (and life) right after they are done with theirs (or flee, if you seem like too much of a threat) For Morrigan it makes sense dog ate her herbs without asking, it doesn’t make sense he ASKS her for more (having proven he can take them and knowing she wouldn’t say yes initially) or that he even wants more considering their probable ill effects, it’s cool
She also said she grew out of hanging out with/as animals, though. Aside from your dog being a special, intelligent trained war dog in any playthrough, let alone the Human Noble origin and their bonus moneys for dogs.
So i never played dragon age, but I know it's an rpg and you play with a party of npc companions, like mass effect and kotor and from what I can gather from this video is that you play as the dog.
I miss out that in DA:O where uniques companions like a Dog, a female Golem or even a literally spirit that represent Justice. I love when a rpg or jrpg let you play weird but interesting characters.

No, the mabari (the kind of dog seen in the video) is also a companion NPC. You play as a customisable character with your own origin.
