- Sat in my VW Golf R DSG i go through the car net app, including connecting it to an internet source, going through its features and then giving my opinion on it. I also troubleshoot a App Connect USB connection error and go over updating the infotainment Navigation system and its maps

I updated my maps with the VW discovery media updating software the other day it automates everything every well I only did Europe 1 at 13.6 GB. btw I blamed car-net wrong in your last video it actually DOES give the fuel prices for petrol or diesel relevant to your vehicle, impressive

As you may or may not have noticed having the car-net data connection via WLAN active. Will give you real time traffic or road works alert on the VW navigation screens. Which is nice with mine as I have the active info display so get the maps between the speedo and rev counter
No I never noticed. To be fair I only ever used car net app once and that was to register it with vw. I found the navigation nearest petrol station feature to suit my needs as I don't really care about the price of fuel. I always find supermarkets are the cheapest by a long chalk but I fill up with shell v power nitro plus now! I notice zero performance inprovement but I do such little mileage I dont mind getting robbed a bit there lol
Jay Kay No Shell in N Ireland for quite a few years so I am forced to use BP ultimate diesel. Might be as you say "snake oil" but I want to try to keep that diesel particulate filter in good nick 👍🤔
Congratulations on a thousand subscribers jay, can you do an in depth vid on the updating your satnav, save it for when you actually need to do it yourself, id like to follow your steps at a later date as I have some European road trips planned and nearer the time I'll want to update my nav ready to go

Jay Kay that one is definitely on the list, my brother lives in Austria so that's another one, just getting there you can see three countries, do you know anywhere I can get some routes to follow?
actually i don't mate. But i bet there will be some driving apps that have routes pre planned. The only places I've thought of visiting were Germany (the ring obviously!) Italy (for the mountain roads and obviously visit the Ferrari factory) and Romania as that place apparently has the best roads in the world!
I've done this with my iPhones hotspot and it takes several attempts to connect, but when l turn the car off and go back later l need to do the hole process over again.
I've contacted the dealer and there not sure what's going on.
Still waiting for more apps on the apple CarPlay . Nice video though man 👍
try turning off your bluetooth. I found bluetooth was killing everything for me

Hello Jay Kay! I'm looking at getting a golf gti or gtd! Just noticed is they have an electronic handbrake! Have you had any trouble with them or heard of people having any trouble!? Cheers
Hi mate. No ive not heard of any problems really. I personally prefer the old style handbrake but im not that fussed - the car is still awesome fun to drive
Jay Kay have you considered fitting your R with Racechip, the top of range chip boosts by about 70bhp and they give a 2 year engine warranty.
No I haven't mate but two year engine warranty sounds awesome! Il google them
yes I came across them watching one of shmee 150 videos, he went to their factory in Germany. the top of the range chip is controllable through a smart phone app. from what I understand it's just plug and play and works in conjunction with the cars existing ecu. only problem I could see is the warranty only covers the engine so if you buggered any part of the drive train your not covered
Yeah it also only covers upto £4000. Better than nothing though and it appears to be the cheapest on the market! I suppose really you'd only get failures if you launched. Flooring while in motion should be ok I would have thought. Just a faster wearing clutch
Hey mate, so where is the Car getting its internet connectivity from? Do you have a Data Sim fitted in the car?
I dont think mine is capable of having its own sim it doesnt have a sim card slot.

Page looks slightly different to yours though? I downloaded it and installed and seems to work ok though, I'd definitely recommend downloading individual files though, tried the large file first, failed at 97% after 4 hours!

Hello mate. I think you either need to do a unique style or video yourself doing entertaining stuff. Just make sure you arent seen breaking the law if you try and entertain as you will soon get reported by haters and the police do act on complaints apparently!
