Saw this video on my recommendations and never knew Front Mission had a manga. Went through in today and was amazed with the plot, characters in the story and of course the role Inuzuka had to play in this manga.
Been playing Front Mission games since I was about 15. Then went to actual war at 18 to 26. I have to say even games like FM1 and FM3 capture much of the essence. The invisible man is certainly the witness to everything, the sum and what remains of what we have to look back on after it's over.

If anyone is curious about the ending The war ends, Inuzuka gets arrested and interrogated but pulls some dark sorcery to mysteriously vanish into thin air as a nuke explodes over Japan
Thematically, he’s meant to be a spirit of war by the end of the manga. But in all likelihood, he was surrounded by battlefields full of high-tech gear and dead elite soldiers that he probably just looted some military augments/equipment that allowed him to “vanish” from his interrogators.

I just went through the manga and Inuzuka Kenichi reminds me of Judge Holden in Blood Meridian. Both seems to have the ability to show up at battlefields and escape unharmed, able to bring out the worst of people in a battlefield and seems to thrive off war. (Of course, the main differences are Holden is a large man and is an active participant in the atrocities described in Blood Meridian, while Kenichi is a small man and a noncombatant).
This my first time hearing of the manga version of front mission, the art looks amazing so I'll definitely check it out. My only experience of the front mission games are front mission 4 and 5, which I enjoyed but it's been along time, I've also heard not many liked the remakes, but I haven't played the remakes yet.
Front mission is awesome. I played the hell out of the ds version. Didn’t know there was a manga 👍 I was in the navy for a couple years and the experience made me anti-war. Being in a crew 20 hrs a day, doing everything together, every day changed how I view the relationships that I have.
I can’t even express how much this is my favorite type of manga/anime with military, modern/near future military, light, Mecha and horror/gore, all combined into one type of show ❤❤
Reminds me of watching things in ukraine, seeing soldiers joke about them being next to die, or bombing a trench and seeing some poor dude roll out of a bunker to just get casually tapped by passing soldier as they bleed out.
Wow this was really really dark depressing sad and there's no good involved in it. Which I think is perfect for front mission because I do believe even the series kind of goes into that front although the only recent thing I've heard about the series now is most people didn't like the first remake, a good amount of people didn't like the second remake and from what I'm hearing about the third remake from what people reacted in the trailer's, it's not looking that good. And we don't talk about that 1 not front mission game that was just a metal gear solid rip-off so at least this manga carries the essence of the series and it is good for what it does.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I really enjoyed this manga when I saw it on one of those sites a long time ago. This manga reminds me of the horrors of war and how back in 2006 I wanted to join the Marines but my Marine veteran cousin convinced me otherwise since he went to the Iraq War back in 2003-2005. After hearing that I wanted to join he called me and said "In a way, I hated life." Scared me straight and never joined. But anywho, great manga, would recommended to anyone who likes war/mech theme stories.
Just from the sense that it also draws from modern warfare dystopia with a spice of future technology. They "fish from the same stream", as Terry Pratchett used to say. If you like this and FW, you might enjoy "Eden: It's an Endless World".
Never knew Front Mission got a manga, gonna have to pick this up. Fun Fact, Front Mission is basically only known in the west because after the cultural phenomenon that was FFVII, EA wanted some of that sweet, sweet, Final Fantasy money for themselves and set out to strike a deal for the US publishing rights to Final Fantasy VIII. As part of the deal to get FFVIII Square made EA publish a few other games as well, Brave Fencer Musashi, Parasite Eve, and Front Mission 3.
Uff maybe a bit late but i was experimented problems with my phone but better latter then never, i don't expect you cover the Front Mission manga but i glad you make it, i wish this inspired to read Thunderbolt manga
reminds me alot of the Konami 'inspired' game "Left Alive" that tried too hard to be Metal Gear Solid while also being Front Mission (mecha tactical JRPG & all). was unable to play it since Konami limited its release, then snubbed it from stores around a month later.
One of the best depictions of the grey zone I've seen in media. The way how Huffman Island residents are sensitized to the constant warmongering feels eerily similar to how us Finns feel atm. There's even some russian medias that claim that there's been drone strikes fired against them from Finland, but life goes on like normal. It's hard to take their threats seriously when it's been going on for a decade or so, but there's still constant dread in the air.

Reminds me of watching things in ukraine, seeing soldiers joke about them being next to die, or bombing a trench and seeing some poor dude roll out of a bunker to just get casually tapped by passing soldier as they bleed out.
Thank you for the recommend! Just started reading it and I'm really getting into it.
that ending is haunting... so relatable with what happens in the world lol
You got me, going to check this out
I remembered playing Front mission 3 back then in ps1 that game is a gem.
God, we need more Gundam’s like Thunderbolt.
And we don't talk about that 1 not front mission game that was just a metal gear solid rip-off so at least this manga carries the essence of the series and it is good for what it does.
every single panel that doesn't have camera man in them was taken by camera man. Every single panel that does have camera man in them is a selfie
Oh wow, I saw their assets while skimming on sprite resource.
Boy their mechs are super cool and detailed!
I read it when it came out blind and MAN. I was not ready for that. It is really really good.
Wow, you dropped this at a perfect time.
Gotta love the blocky mecha design that is still so anime of front mission.
i read the first few chapters but then got hooked and read it all in 3 days its peak
rookie numbers! i finished it in less then one day. im so unemployed
When this hopefully gets an anime or live action series one day, it’ll be awesome.
Inuzuka is my boi, he's on that Nightcrawler grindset. No hedonism guh stop my guy from making bank.
One of the best manga I have read on warfare. Very realistic and very faithful to human nature. I wish there were far more stories in this.
fruit of eden is fucking epic dude, bro is him
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
So Else gets forever winter vibes from the manga.
Just from the sense that it also draws from modern warfare dystopia with a spice of future technology. They "fish from the same stream", as Terry Pratchett used to say. If you like this and FW, you might enjoy "Eden: It's an Endless World".
Most likely inspired forever winter
*"You're not that guy, you're this guy"!*
FINALLY SOMEONE TALK ABOUT IT!
Yo, Front Mission mentioned! FM 4 is one of the FM out there, imo.
Finally, one of my all time favorite mecha mangas. Its depiction of war is brually honest, everyone is a victim once war broke out.
This scratches an itch I needed
Same.
Uff maybe a bit late but i was experimented problems with my phone but better latter then never, i don't expect you cover the Front Mission manga but i glad you make it, i wish this inspired to read Thunderbolt manga
To think this kind of cruelty and pain is commonplace in 40k.
Damn. Australia fighting the USA. What an odd timeline
Extremely underrated, I only read it because the weapons board on 4chan said it was kino
Thanks for sharing and for spoiling just enough to spike interest. Definitely will give a read.
This is probably one of the many pieces of art that the creators of the Forever Winter devs took inspiration from
as a frontmission 1 player as a child, it was fun to watch this vid
reminds me alot of the Konami 'inspired' game "Left Alive" that tried too hard to be Metal Gear Solid while also being Front Mission (mecha tactical JRPG & all).
was unable to play it since Konami limited its release, then snubbed it from stores around a month later.
The end when lady boss’a ticket home was cut short is the saddest part
Gives forever winter vibes
Beat me to it.
thank you for this! it has 80 ish chapter too
That dog eating hand was damn closer to home. If you know what I mean.
Now Im invested thanks for the sauce.
Forever Winter had good inspiration.
I love this manga so much, have it all.
A must have
7:16 Bull terrier spotted. Best manga of all time.
Ngl would love to see more of this universe, maybe some more USN perspective but hey this world is amazing
I loved this game series! It’s awesome there is a Manga on this. 😁 I hope it’s good.
The Sheep herder/Shepard guy and Kogure did feature again in Ohtagaki's Thunderbolt Gundam manga as Bull G pilot and ship captain.
Imagine if they made this into a well supported game.
*Wouldn't that be neat?*
You should try the game This War of Mine it’s a game where you’re just a civilian trying to survive in a war torn city.
Inuzuka feels like he’d know a lot about “Khorne” if asked.
