hi what if the A and C also was beyond the yellow line and attacker passes to B again which is not in offside and then B passes to A or C and either of them score, is that offside or not?
When player is beyond last defensive player than the ball is the offside line. So if the player passes it to someone who is closer to goal in comparison to ball then it's offside. I am sorry I didn't get your exact question. Watch from 1:30 and see if your question is answered or not. Let me know.
Thank for your video. There is exception in offside - in situation of throw-in play there's no offside at all. the offensive player can receive the ball although he is beyond the line passing by the last desfensive player - no offside also if offensive and defensive players except the goalkeeper are both in one half of the field. So supposing if a offensive player beyond the last defensive player receives a pass and he is before the midfield line. He is not considered offside.
Purpose is to make game more entertaining! If there is no offside then strikers will always be standing near opponent goal and all the player will be distributed on the filed. Due to offside all players are stacked in smaller area therefore make it more challenging to score a goal.
@@TheSchoolOfSports ah! That makes sense! I found this looking for an explanation of the rule after USA's second goal against Iran was ruled offside. I don't follow much soccer obviously :)
@ 1:55 20-21 Laws of the game: "A player is in an offside position if: any part of the head, body or feet is nearer to the opponents’ goal line than both the BALL and the second-last opponent." An attacking player is of absolutely no consideration when determining where the yellow offside line in the video is.
The yellow line is imaginary, it does not exist like the other white lines of the field and it is not at a standard place. Depending on what is going on during the "attack phase" (idk if there is a term for that) the yellow line is vertical to the length of the field at the spot of the defender closest to the defending goal-spot, assuming the goalkeeper is at the goal-spot. If the latter is further away, you count the second last defender.
This learned me the offside rule! Thank you lots
K
This taught me the offside rule*
I struggle so long to understand before watch this video. Thanks bro🙏
1:30 the ball itself creates the offside line?
It's the second last defender that counts. The last one does not need to be the goalkeeper.
If we include goalkeeper than we would say 2nd last defender, but if we exclude goalkeeper than it would be last defender 😊
@@TheSchoolOfSports the point is that if goal keeper comes ahead of a defender, then he becomes the 2nd last defender
Thanks man simple and easy to understand
It's a little tricky concept for people to understand. I am glad you got it! Enjoy the game!
Thank youu i understand now ! 🙌
You're welcome 😊
So if you goal being in opponent's half then it's offside and goal cancelled
Good job thank you very simple explanation
Now I know what a offside is
Good to hear that!
so informative
great explanation
Why was Fernando Torres' goal against Barcelona not offside?
What if there is two attacking players and they are beyond the goalkeeper is there offside?😢😶

Correct! Thank you for adding specific information! I remember Frenando Torris made a goal in Champions League.
Also no offside from a corner or a goal kick
So now I understand this weird rule, what is the purpose of it? You have to make sure there is always two defenders between you and the goal?

You did not mention about offside from penalty kick. When the taker hits the bar, he cannot touch the ball afterwards
Thank for the explanation. I had to come an understand why Brazil vs USA women's gold medal match. Why Brazil's goal didn't count. Paris 2024.
Thanks bro
A substance X is harder than a substance Y if X scratches Y but Y will not scratch X.
thank you
Thank u
Thanks
Welcome Brother!
Is offside if opponent pass the ball
No!
No is when the last defender is next to the goalie and if an attacker is ahead of the last defender than it's offside

This is just annoying need to change this rule. Just put the ball anyhow inside goal.
Yep 👍..this rule sucks
But your yallowe line is not in a feald bro
