I am trying to get into sports, and this video managed to literally walk me through all of the basics of soccer. I feel like I can watch a game and have a better understanding.

Love it how it is . For me the field is way too big .!! If the field size was taken down a bit, there would be more exciting things happening, Substations should be like basketball yes .! Players can be taken out and put back in at anytime .. Let the goal keeper use his hands at anytime . Penalty kick or whatever tie breaking kick is complete rubbish. Just let the players play with the goalie on the field without a goalie for 5 minutes .! 😂 Penalty shoot out 🤦🏾♂️. Ay ya yay.! Ridiculous.!! Wasted reason for playing 90 minutes and playing so hard running up and down the field for .
Some extras... if you're interested 😊 1. If you are fouled inside your own penalty box you'll get a foul kick... 2. You might have noticed an arc (3:26) at the edge of the penalty box, it is only used when taking a penalty in such a way that all the other players (except the goalie and the penalty taker) should stand outside the *D* box as we call it. 3. Also, deliberately touching the ball (except goalie) with the hand is a foul. And if the goalie touches the ball with his hand outside of the penalty box, he'll be sent off (or he will be shown a *RED CARD* )

Good explanation, although I wish you explained the tackling better. Yellow card is a caution for risky play. Two feet tackles without touching the ball is straight red card, especially if in the process of attacking. This is dangerous play.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are the big teams, but even Leicester and Wolverhampthon Wanderers are doing well. Also, watch Real Madrid and Barcelona games in Spain. la liga (Spanish) league and Premier league starts 12 September.

I played in elementary school U9 and U11. Was representing the city. Soccer was the first thing I genuinely loved doing. Haven’t played soccer in about 14 years…😅
This helps so much. My sister is playing soccer, and they asked me to be a volunteer coach. Even though I've played before, my coaches have never really gone over the rules with me, and I just did what they told me to during a game. This cleared up so many questions.
90 mins if it’s a league game and if it’s a draw it ends a draw. 30 mins and penalty shootouts are only for cup games where a team has to get knocked out

good video mate but offside rule is a bit different.. if attacking team's any part of body nearer to goal than both ball and opposing team's second player, then it is offside. and also sometimes referree waits the position finish to decide offside or foul in previous position because of VAR..
I've known everything but offsides. I always thought there were set lines for offsides like hockey but it just depends where the last defender is. So now I know.

Very good to explain the rules of soccer. I am now becoming a fan of soccer. I was in Germany USA army and I was in 1990, when the Germans won the World cup. USA football has too many time outs and commercials.
This made so much sense. I'm new to football and I was so confused what offside was. I think that's dumb that you can't go past the defenders. Isn't that the point to score 😭
it's only when passing the ball and you have a person past the defenders. If you already have the ball you can run with it past the defenders. Also offside is calculated at the exact moment the ball is kicked/passed, so you can kick the ball then while the ball is rolling or in the air have another player run past the defenders to catch it and that won't be an offside.

The players can use the back part of their bodies too. Ronaldinho was great passing balls just allowing the ball to touch his back and directing it with his movement.
