I was hoping that you would have discussed as well as showed the different types of thread that go under the strings at the bottom bridge and the reason for choosing a particular type of thread.... can you do that please? Also, if you'd discuss what the differences between a gents and a ladies tanpura would be ever so helpful.
Thanks for the informative video. Wonder what the reccomendation would be in the event of finding an unglued bridge like I just did on my vocal Tanpura. The bridge stays in place fine with the string tension, sound and staying in tune are great with the new strings. Thanks for any feedback.
Hi. How are you? I'm brazilian and don't speak english but i will try. I bought a tampura by internet. It was tuned but it doesn't makes that characteristic "noise" like a buzz (with many harmonics) at the end of decay of the sound, like every tampura that i see in youtube. It's sounding like a unplugged guitar, the sound not continues. It's not the voicemail of a indian instrument, that makes that beautiful drone, like a golden timbre.I don't know if i'm explaining right. Did you understand? :) Can you give me a help? Thanks a lot.Ler mais
Ugo Barra Limpa put a thread under the string at the bridge, and slide it down until you hear the harmonics and leave the piece of thread in place. Repeat this procedure for all the strings
Thanks for this post. we could really Re-string a Tanpura watching this video.

quite good
Thanks for this post.
Thank u
Just curious... what about the jiva / thread?
For the instrumental tanpura, you may not need a thread. Most times the set up is done that way.
