Kgalagadi Honorary Game Rangers Roadtrip | Loffiesdraai | Kij Kij | Union's End

Loffiesdraai: We had the huge privilege to join the honorary game rangers/sanparks volunteers on a trip called Loffiesdraai. Loffiesdraai is the place where prof Eloff used to pitch his tents when he did lion research in the Kgalagadi. We stayed at Kij Kij and Loffiesdraai. Both camps have a huge firepit, a waterhole and a sleeping structure which only have a fence around it, no walls. This not available to the general public. We drove on "no entry" roads, where treated like royalty and had the most amazing time in nature. Any nature lover should do this one in their life time. All the money raised will go back to the park.

I have camped at Loffiesdraai back in the 1970's early 80's with the Tuks students and Prof Eloff.. I stayed there for free as an invited guest on those 4 x 1 week trips ,. Loffiesdraai looks like Sun City today by comparison to what it was like 45 plus years ago . You feel more in the Wild by staying at Rooiputs Site no 4 where we stay every year for less than R 200 a night for wife and I

Hi, do keep in mind, you can only do the trip with the honorary rangers. You can not go on your own.
