We have been traveling in Africa for the past 21 years. In Land Rovers. First in Defenders and later Discoveries. We love Africa and visited, besides South Africa (where we stay) Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Botswana, Angola and Tanzania. We just love camping and try to camp around Cape Town whenever it is possible. We like to share some of our great experiences in Africa.
Middelberg Campsite, De Doorns, Western Cape| Campsite Review
We had a great stay at Middelberg campsite situated 40km from De Doorns in the Western Cape. The campsite is nice and remote and you have to drive a 4x4 road to access the camp. The camp self is nestled into a valley and surrounded by trees. There are four main camping areas to pitch up camp. Two of them are more spacious than the other two. The ablutions are very neat and tidy with flush toilets and hot water showers. The farm also has cycling and hiking routes on it for the adventurers among us. We truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend you give it a visit.

Jakkalsden is situated 20km outside of Montagu in the Western Cape. The campsite offers a true wild camping experience. There are ablution facilities on the farm but you might need to drive to it from your campsite as it will be a bit of a walk. We were made to feel welcome on the farm and all our needs were met and we really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend anyone to pay Jakkalsden a visit....

I've been waiting for this. Thanks for the walk-around. Just wanted to know how reliable the p series has been seeing that they are fairly new to the market.
We have been using the bakkie for 2 years now and must say we are impressed. We have not had any issues yet. I will admit it could do with a bit more power esspecially when you are towing in the hills. Otherwise we don't have any complaints. We have done some offroad driving with the bakkie and it it handled itself very well. We are happy, very good value for money.

Thanks for watching. Palmwag part of Gondwana collection. Get a Gondwana card, you can use it all the campsites in the collection and get discount. It is less expensive than NWR. We also avoid NWR if possible. Happy camping.

Nice review, we were there in August last year... Most stunning flowers. The Enjo team told us that they are working on private ablutions that were unfortunately washed out during the flood in July. Keen to see that come together. If you go back for flower season: Negotiate with the weavers in the tree on Camp Site 1 or park the trailer away from the tree. They have a rather active cloaca requiring loads of elbow grease to restore the awning... 😜
We will be on campsite 2 luckily. The ablutions under construction when we were there. Maybe it will be operational when we go back.

Maksimum 2 tot 3 km. Daar is sement op die slegte dele. Iemand was saam met ons met Hyundai Creta. Geen probleem nie.

Is there a 220V power plug for motorhomes in Sesriem Camp? Thanks for your video btw!
There is 220V power but the only plugs availible at the campsite is traditional 3 point outlets so you wil need a coversion for a moterhome plug.

Safest place for children to play
It is a great place, I agree.
My family and I spent 5 days here in Jan this this. We enjoyed every minute of Doringslaagte. We didn't want to leave. We definitely go back there.
My 3 year old daughter fell sick just before our trip to this campsite and had to be hospitalised for 2 weeks. We sent proof of the hospital stay on the first email and yet they refused to allow us to return another time or refund us in a 1 line email, no empathy or understanding at all.

Hi. Verseker is daar baie mooi plekke. Ons bly in die Wes Kaap en dit is maar waar ons naweke kamp. Lang vakansies iewers in Afrika. Met Covid was Namibia maklik en ons het familie daar. Kyk uit vir Botswana na Junie maand. Laat weet paar voorstellein die Laeveld. Ons stuur graag 'n span uit soontoe!
