“Thank you” doesn’t begin to describe it. Your channel is like medicine to me. Especially Daniel’s story of what happened before his CFS kicked in has an almost eerie overlap with my story. Thank you!
Damir, I'm so moved to hear the channel has impacted you in this way! Knowing these stories provide comfort and hope makes my long work hours incredibly worthwhile. Thank you so much! ❤️ Daniel's journey is so insightful, isn't it? I'm so glad it deeply resonated with you and that you found it useful. While not all recovery stories will strike a chord, finding one that aligns with your experience can be extremely empowering. 💪 🌟 Much love and plenty of brighter days ahead!
@@RaelanAgle definitely hit the bullseye for me with this one! Daniel seems very accepting of his limitations, especially at his lowes point when he stopped working altogether. Seems like money isn't a major worry for him, or he comes across that way. I'd be curious to ask him, for the rest of us who have bills to pay, how he'd manage being dealt a hand of cards where he wouldn't be able to go fly to a tropical place without income coming in? Reason I ask is because I've spent some of the best years of my life in the tropics and would be keen to head out again, but first working on my ability to work some 15h per week. Currently sitting at 10h per week. Does he live frugally? Is there so much money in the bank that he's set for life? I understand it's a bit of a sensitive topic, but finances are a huge factor in recovery. Rather the stress of finances and worrying about if there will be enough money coming in. I'm personally in an okayish situation, but there may be listeners from parts of the world where social security doesn't even exist, nor universal healthcare, so I'd be curious to hear what he would have to say on that topic. What if we didn't have the position of privilege we're in? And the answer may be "I don't know what I'd do", and that's fine.
@@damirkotoricHi, I stopped working and had some savings and moved to my stepdad where I could live for free. I created a vegetable garden and ate almost for free in all those years. I still had to pay for heating and electricity and I figured that when I could get a cheap flight, I would probably spend more or less the same amount as I would at home in the winters. I stayed at places for a few dollars every day and ate for 1 or 2 dollars. After a few years I had no savings anymore, but I never worried about money. I trusted that life would figure it out for me. I had that phase of financial worrying prior to ME/CFS and already lived my worst case scenario many times. After a while I was able to leave that theme behind me. I stopped caring about it. Only after that moment was I able to save money for the first time in life.

What an incredible human Daniel is offering free recovery service on his website. That to me is someone that must have truly suffered and wanted to give back. Nothing but respect mate. Long may your good health continue
I have recovered about 80 % from this illness. I just started looking at other peoples stories. I would love to share mine. Most of the things that i did were instinctual and others fueled by the knowledge i had about the power of the mind, my faith in a higher power and faith in myself as well, better nutrition ect. I have severe childhood trauma and i have come to learn that is also a factor. I am on a mission to help others and continue to learn more. We are the self healers 💙 much love and much encouragement to those currently suffering with this debilitating illness. You CAN get better, yes you can.
15:53 „I’ve learned to live without thoughts because it wasn‘t useful“. I can totally relate to this and think it is key advice when trying to recover from ME/ CFS. Just surrendering to whatever appears in consciousness and not engaging with it at all. If there is a piercing headache, so what, I will not comment or get worried about it. Just let it be and accept it. Once we stop caring about the pain and don’t identify with it, we’re not afraid anymore, which will reduce any stress on the nervous system. Eventually the nervous system will stop triggering immune responses because it will realize there is no danger, no threat to us. Really great interview, thank you both 🙏
Very similar to Eckhart Tolle, he was so unhappy and so depressed for so long and he finally surrendered and he realized he was totally happy. Homeless sitting on a park bench smiling never happier. You can listen to his videos and hear how it went you could just Google his story it’s amazing and very similar.
Irene lyon the trauma specialist talks about titration , processing trauma in a regulated way , gradually. Trapped trauma is definitely part of the puzzle. This is a kind of spiritual breakthrough that started daniel's recovery. Dan neuffer said often people who recover reach a lowest point before breakthrough. Fantastic guy, so pleased for him and wish him all the best.
I have been diagnosed with me/cfs in January this year after 10 years of suffering and no help. I'm so new to the recovery and just today thought I'll have a look what's out there on TH-cam. I came across two videos which one was incredibly vague story and promoting someone's miraculous program, another one was promoting cooking book of someone that has recovered by healthy eating and third was this video. I'm yet to discover what this channel is to offer but I soaked every word Daniel was saying and your questions were spot on. At no point I felt like this could be a rehearsed conversation or, that anyone was trying to sell me something. Daniel has said few interesting things which I have already thought myself like I possibly was already on the way to develope cfs when I was a child. Those thoughts came through my head a while ago. There is so much for me to discover but I truly hope that those who say I can't recover after such long time and should get myself disabled badge for my car, are wrong.
Thanks guys, I’m broke and in a lot of pain, there’s a place in heaven for you both! Hats off to you both, it’s a pity that some others who have suffered and recovered, and appeared for free on Raelens show ,then on that premise ,start there own recovery programmes, for ridiculous prices .I.e Jason ! Dan Nueffer’s price is fair, for the broke suffering, cfs health prices are a complete rip off, but raelen and Daniel, you both come from such a deep ,loving place.!Thank you both for your love, and the example you set!!
8:00 - 8:32 this is happening to me!! The brain fog, forgetting how to get home, not able to work fulk time anymore, or if I do, I then have to call in 2-3 days the next week while I do nothing but sleep! My doc sent me to a neurologist to see if I had a stroke because my left eye and cheek droop, but they found nothing. They sent me to some specialist that checked my memory and IQ, they said I was normal and suspected severe depression... I absolutely do have bouts of depression, but it's typically brought on Because I'm so tired and can't aeem to get anything done... Surprisingly, I too tried ecstasy in my late 20's. I took it a handful of times over a year. I've heard that's a no-no. But I sure didn't hear that back then. I'm now 40 and I really really struggle. I have to work, having 4 kids at home. But I can't do anything strenuous, and even though I don't- I pretty much sleep my life away when I'm not at work! My husband is the one who told me about CFS. Do I juat go to my doc and say "I think I have chronic fatigue syndrome?"
So relate to this. I had a similar turning point where I gave up everything I wanted to be and just allowed myself to be sick. That brought my body into the healing state. Still healing!
Thanks for asking. No symptoms now for four weeks and the nervous system is regulating beautifully. Not sure if I'm quite out of the woods yet but the change is very palpable. @@santeenl
For me, it was about regulating the nervous system. Once I moved from fight/flight into the rest/digest mode, the healing took on a life of its own. I use meditation, deep breathing, brain re-training and yoga to keep the nervous system regulated. @@santeenl
This video truly resonated with me. Powerful message, Daniel! Looking forward to seeing what surprises you have in store for us in the future, Raelan! Thanks for sharing all these wonderful online resources with us. One doesn't have to feel so alone on this journey. I love all the love this channel offers!!!!🥰
Thank you both so much for this interview, it really spoke to me as I've found emotional healing to be the main aspect of my healing journey so far. I've realised it helps for me to think of myself as a piece of clay on a pottery wheel (bare with me here 😂). If the clay is not centred, it wobbles. When you try to build it up, it will get more and more unsteady until it collapses. This is how I felt before I got sick. I was always off centre, trying to please other people rather than myself, with other people's expectations pulling me in different directions and causing my emotions and health to be all over the place. I can now feel myself becoming more and more centred, being content with who I am in this moment. The more centred I become, the easier it is to stay steady and peaceful as I build myself up
What a beautiful soul 💖 I found the bit about the crash actually very reassuring...that you can get out of it very quickly as you've learnt what you need to do. I am finding that too!! 🙏 thank you 😊
That was such an interesting recovery story! Always love hearing severe one's, because they are much more my experience of ME, but Daniel was really good. The stuff about no thoughts struck a big cord with me, my mind is always going a hundred miles an hour, definitely going to put some focus on changing that.
I understand that no though......but in meditation,, visualization etc. we are using positive thoughs.. So these are ready? Brain retraining and other programs use many of thoughs about the future. I'm doing recently one of them, that's why was it a "surprise" for me.
I heard about this interview in the comments on one of your other wonderful interviews - so glad I found it - definitely will be checking out Daniel's work, what a fantastic human!
Wow… that happened to me exactly with ecstasy.. I was anxious, fatigued, brain fog and it just got worse and worse.. then it devolped into other illness.. now I know about how to heal emotionally and physically… I’m slowly recovering and doing the work! Thanks for sharing ur story.
I am so happy to have found you, Raelan! Not only does your perspective and insight help me to find hope but you are creating a wonderful network of wisdom that so many can benefit from. When I watch your videos I look for guidance and ideas and today I received a confirmation to an insight that has been forming inside my head through meditation: that I have to let go of the old me and of everything I thought I needed to be. This is so difficult but listenig to Daniel it seems to be the only way to really get better. Thank you so much for the work you do, Realan. Please take good care of yourself. A big hug from a Chilean living in Germany.
This was very spiritual Daniel, I love your approach. Thank you so much for all of your hard work sharing this Daniel, you look like such a compassionate human being. And I'm so grateful to you too Raelan, your full recovery interviews have helped me so much. All my love to you two :)
Loved this! I especially love when his authenticity about crashes. If we go back to that destructive path in the past that brought about chronic illness, we will end up there again. And the truth about crashes is they happen with life, Bc it’s not smooth sailing all the time, but once you have the tools, you KNOW you can get through it. I also LOVED dr Sarno and TMS, and journaling is a huge part of my own healing journey and my coaching. Excellent interview!!! Thank you both!
What an amazing man I will definitely do the course when the time is right for me. Daniel thank you for helping those of us who have limited funds. Stay safe and well
This is what I think is the key its has to be mostly emotional work / trauma work at the core. I have been diving deep into healing my emotional and childhood wounds. This is really overlooked by doctors they look at diet, vitamins, drugs, ect. I think its the first step!! But it's the hardest nobody wants to do this.

It’s crazy to purposely get sick again! Reminds me of the health guru who purposely gained a bunch old weight to understand why people had a hard time losing weight. He learned the hard way how hard it really is.
Wonderful insights--thank you! I was glad to see Daniel mentioned Dan Neuffer--I am currently doing his program and it is SO helpful... Just calming our frantic nervous system is the key--the techniques for doing that may vary, but that is the key...thanks again!💖🙏🏽
@20:00 i need to listen to this over and over. Cause I'm that A to B and overcoming the in between. But i now know that's partially the overactive nervous system on sympathetic overdrive and fear.
Part of the silver lining of CFS is that it gives one more time for introspection, as Daniel well described. I too threw in the towel on life and the emotional relief of that does help, but it is not a cure, it is usually done at the point when there is no other choice. I lived in Holland once and it is good to hear a Dutchman's take on this mysterious and serious condition. Dutch have a lot of energy so you know it's serious when they get it.
Thanks Raelan and Daniel, The key here (to me) is we're all so driven & putting so much pressure on ourselves & getting stressed, & lack of proper nutrients in our foods is part of the reason we're so unwell. Not living in the moment & looking for happiness in the future was an AHA! Moment for me! That leaves us fighting the present and trying to take flight to our future "happy selves"! W♡W! A LOT of Nuggets here & much appreciated! I still look forward to sitting on that tropical beach though. I'll just have to close my eyes for now & dream about it:) Thanks again!
I am very grateful to have found your channel. I am a mental health therapist and so much of what he's saying not only resonates with me but can help my clients as well. Thank you!
Daniel you have a calming presence! Thanks for sharing. Please if you have any wisdom to share about how to sit WITHOUT thoughts let us know or let us know where on your website you talk about this.
Thank you 🤗 A subject like this is better for a coaching session I believe. In the Alignment Recovery Program, the 4th module is about this, but I can't give it to everyone as I need people to see it for themselves. Instead I give subtle hints.
1. Find the happiness and contentment in the present moment. If you're searching for this feeling in the future, let go of that. 2. Take your time with emotional processing. 3. Find a connection with yourself. 4. Write all the things that upset you, aka journalling.
@@releasecfs You need to explain the full story for it to actually sink in for people. However, yes, I realised I get tired when watching TH-cam videos, so I always try to help the next person out.

@@gabrielaczanner2627 may i know what greatly helped you? though i known its different for everyone. I have cfs and i think its not bad a s well but i cant establish a good routine thats where i struggle most
Much thanks Daniel! 🤍 Great work Raelan, putting all this together! 🤍 The reasons for onset will be different. So will be the symptoms. There is no need to disagree or challenge one's journey or story, if I may humbly request. Listening to more and more recovery-stories like this will give more insights into possible triggers and symptoms. More importantly, a list of 'To Dos' can be put together, and one can experiment from those and find out what works for him. It is clear that solutions will also vary from person to person. In such a situation, having more options is definitely a good idea!
Mind and body are definitely linked, with the spinal cord being the conduit. In fact, sense of self is sustained through spinal patterns, linked to our perceptions etc. Everything is related. There are physical emotional centers in our spinal cord, running along the pain and temp pathways. There is a lot of overlap. There is also an energetic orientation, external/ internal, which if we are living opposite to our natural orientation, entropy/ breakdown occurs.
Thank you so much Raelan! You have such an open, lovely, smart personalality ❤️ Dankjewel Daniel!!! Ik ga zeker op je website kijken. Ongelooflijk dat jij deze belangrijke hulp voor iedereen toegankelijk maakt 🙏❤️ love l, happiness and heath, Janna

Very interesting Interview with this young man. His TURNING POINT was to stop thinking and thoughts. Because this costet so much Energy. His is so right. Thank you. I have to work on myself.
I think he is referring to a distinction of a flowing mind vs a busy mind. I agree that thought is always on as long you are alive, conscious or unconsciously, but in finding out that you are not in control of that, and there is nothing for you to do about what thought is arising is where I find freedom.
Initially it's difficult to be thought-free, or even have lesser thoughts. Rather, the contrary. That is, in the initial stages of meditation thoughts will rush into the mind like a train. The idea is to not get worried. Just let it happen. Just keep doing the meditation everyday. On a given day, if it becomes too overwhelming, sure you can stop meditating and take a break .. maybe just relax, listen to a song, sit in the garden, or whatever. Just take it easy :-) But make sure to come back to the meditation the next day again. And keep doing it daily. With time, you'll learn :-)
Thank you thank you Raelan for making these videos. Daniël, ik haal hier zo veel uit. Ik kan het niet onder woorden brengen hoe dankbaar ik ben voor je verhaal.
Just wanted to say thank you both I just listened to the interview now now got new way of watching on your channel massive thank you for every thing you do
Raelan, thank you for everything you've shared on your channel. It has brought so much positivity and hope in my family! Keep spreading the messages! Much love ❤️
Such an interesting interview. I could comment on almost everything Daniel said, but here are two that are top of mind. The first has to do with LDN. I am on it, and it, along with ANSrewire were game changers for me. If you are someone LDN might work for (we are all different) then one has to start with tiny tiny doses and gradually build up to a small dose. I was on 1 mg for three months before I went to 2. I had some issues with too vivid dreams at first,. My cardiologist said she parks most of her ME/CFS patients at 4 mg - which is where I wound up. The second comment is about how I have learned to be present in the world from moment to moment - much like Daniel. Since learning that we heal only when in the parasympathetic mode, and learning ways to get there (e.g. meditation, vagus nerve exercises, slow abdominal breathing), I try to be as present each moment as I can. That means unless I am problem solving or doing other such things, I pay careful attention to what I am doing. I look at the soap bubbles when I shower, feel the air on my face when outside, look at the textures of food when I am cooking, really listen when someone is talking to me. I often check in with myself to see where I am and if my shoulders are not relaxed that is my clue to get back to the present - from either the past or the future where I got stuck. Thanks again for this wonderful interview and all the thoughts it sparked in me.
I tried low dose naltrexone, it did nothing! Your amazing both of you! How amazing to feel that shift after no thoughts , sounds ds like a spiritual awakening!
Carotenemia-when your skin changes colour from eating too many carrots (and other foods high in beta-carotene)! My daughter had it. Sounds made up, lol. Again. So interesting the emotional/mental aspect of cfs and how Daniel was forced to 'surrender' and stop fighting before he could start to heal. And as a side note, he's quite a dish, lol. 😁
Thank you dears! this conversation resonates with me, and it touches me deeply that you share with us. Both of you are some of few ppl on social media who I listen to regularly. I find you both authentic and grounded, still curious and open. Thanks from my heart and love to you from Oslo.
I will add some 'anger journaling' to my writing as I always squash down anger. Anyone want to recommend a journaling prompt for someone who struggles to express their anger?
Check out Dr. John Sarno's books and Nicole Sachs, LSCW who has people journal to relieve themselves of their chronic symptoms, fatigue, pain, etc. She has an active FaceBook group and her podcast is audioboom.com/channels/4976835. There is a book by Dr. Shubiner, "Unlearn Your Pain" that has journal prompts to get out anger, and there is more on tmswiki.org. There is a great book on how important it is to get out repressed anger, "Facing the Fire: Facing and Experiencing Anger Appropriately"
I hear you. I did an excersise from The Crappy Childhood Fairy and then smashed things and rid my house of all my ex's things he got me. I realize how much I was angry at him and also myself for being stuck in 'good girl syndrome' ignoring red flags and letting him get away with stuff. The breakup destroyed me he was a narc and emotionally abused me to get away with so much. Anyways, checkout Crappy Childhood Fairy?
It’s crazy my whole life was trying to impress and set extreme goals etc mixed with off and on extreme anxiety. Now I’m dealing with this but the more I let go the more energy I tend to have.
Very cool stuff, thanks for sharing guys! Certainly differences in personality between Daniel and I, but I also tended towards the extreme, always trying to do more, going through really, really intense workouts, and after a few years of several attempts of life to wake me up (very challenging events and trauma), I eventually needed something more severe...and for me, the drugs worked a little too good haha. And then I even needed some more pain to eventually "get it" - that I have a mission here, a life to live, gifts that I have to share with the world. I only had the experience of not being able to open my eyes or move or speak twice, but that's certainly a hell of an experience. Still at a pretty bad state and recovering. Just got out of alcohol and cigarette abuse and moderately severe depression. Working on my mental-emotional-spiritual health and my gut while sticking to a healthy and helpful lifestyle for most days, and am very hopeful. Crazy how much he offers for free on the website, definitely going to invest some time there. This is probably the 3rd or 4th person/resource I see where great and thorough information is shared in a structured way and for free. Love that, very greatful! Love and strength

Great interview, thank you so much. What is the title of the book are you reading, Raelan, about the guy who fractured his spine in 8 diferent places (at 19:18)? Thanks
The part about not knowing how to go home; I was 2 blocks from my home in my truck and I was lost, did not know where I was and could not remember how to turn on my blinker lights to make a turn and I was in a road that I had to make a turn or drive into a side walk. It was at that moment where I decided I could no longer drive. I am not recovered but I am better and can occasionally drive now but I remember that; it was so scary.

As i am healing; i am seeing that this comes from childhood as well. So much of Daniel's story resonates with me.
It's great you have those insights, Sunny ❤️
Which part comes from childhood?
I tried the beach in Mexico to heal. Didn’t help fatigue but I seem to sleep better there
Genius - to force yourself into the crash so we can demonstrate what causes a crash and the safety of it all! Thank you for an amazing podcast
So unique, right? Amazing.
Dude! Daniel I'm so happy to see you here 😘

This guy is literally a hidden gem! I don't know how you found him but thanks for this great interview. He is going to have a huge success as a coach.

amazing interview! I could not help but think of Eckhart Tolle. I will listen to his message over and over, powerful and simple and moving!!!!
Thank you, Suzanne! 💓💓💓
I like this recovery story haha. Thanks Raelan!
Me toooooo!!!! ❤️
How is the journey?
Thanks for asking. No symptoms now for four weeks and the nervous system is regulating beautifully. Not sure if I'm quite out of the woods yet but the change is very palpable. @@santeenl
@@michaeldonohue-ju6hm Very nice, what did you use to heal?
For me, it was about regulating the nervous system. Once I moved from fight/flight into the rest/digest mode, the healing took on a life of its own. I use meditation, deep breathing, brain re-training and yoga to keep the nervous system regulated.

Thank you, Bobbie! That is so nice to hear and so kind of you to say ❤️
The more centred I become, the easier it is to stay steady and peaceful as I build myself up
This is beautiful. But what a funny analogy in the beginning.
Hannah, this is amazing!!! I'm so happy to hear about all the progress that you've made. Great work!
@@RaelanAgle thank you so much 😊

That was such an interesting recovery story! Always love hearing severe one's, because they are much more my experience of ME, but Daniel was really good. The stuff about no thoughts struck a big cord with me, my mind is always going a hundred miles an hour, definitely going to put some focus on changing that.
Glad you found it helpful, Kate ❤️
I understand that no though......but in meditation,, visualization etc. we are using positive thoughs.. So these are ready? Brain retraining and other programs use many of thoughs about the future. I'm doing recently one of them, that's why was it a "surprise" for me.

Wonderful! Daniel is a fantastic human, isn't he? You're in for a treat diving into his work. 😊

It sounds like he was like awakened! Amazing story!
@@RaelanAgle what is he talking about low dose medicine that hurt him…

Wonderful insights--thank you! I was glad to see Daniel mentioned Dan Neuffer--I am currently doing his program and it is SO helpful... Just calming our frantic nervous system is the key--the techniques for doing that may vary, but that is the key...thanks again!💖🙏🏽
Great tip Karen, thanks for sharing!
Not living in the moment & looking for happiness in the future
was an AHA! Moment for me!
That leaves us fighting the present and trying to take flight to our future "happy selves"!
W♡W!
A LOT of Nuggets here & much appreciated!
I still look forward to sitting on that tropical beach though.
I'll just have to close my eyes for now & dream about it:)

Wow, this could have make the video a lot shorter.

Great work Raelan, putting all this together! 🤍
The reasons for onset will be different.
Well said, Debottam!
Wow, what a story. Glad you’ve recovered 🙏 Your experience with low-dose Naltrexone is interesting, that was quite a reaction 😞
Unbelievable 😂 this interview is 🥇
Amazing insights, thank you 🙏 ❤
Mind and body are definitely linked, with the spinal cord being the conduit.
How do we heal
Do we heal the spinal cord

How can I relax when I won't have my basic needs met?
What a nice guy.
How on earth can you live without thoughts? I can't even manage to meditate without thinking for ten minutes.
I try to meditate daily - but I guess more than 30 seconds without thoughts was never possible. I wonder how Daniel manages 1 hour - just amazing
It's impressive, isn't it! I'd love to learn ❤️
Just take it easy :-)
But make sure to come back to the meditation the next day again. And keep doing it daily.
With time, you'll learn :-)
Go for easy meditations in the beginning. With time they are sure to work, if done regularly.
:-)
Favorite interview so far!
