    About EndFatigue
Our mission at EndFatigue.com is to provide education and resources to visitors who are seeking advice on improving energy, sleep and many other health topics of broad interest. The ideas advocated here are based on Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum's 30 years of clinical experience treating chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia, as well as sleep and pain issues. As an internationally known expert on these topics, he has published numerous books and research studies, including his landmark published research on CFS/FMS (published in the Journal of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) in which he presents his unique S.H.I.N.E. protocol approach for treatment. Much of the advice presented at this site is based on how S.H.I.N.E. can optimize overall energy and health.

I wish he'd call it was it really is: Deep, dark, drop-dead fatigue that causes the inability to function. It isn't "chronic fatigue," or even "fatigue." It is Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome, also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (neuroimmune disorder). The false name has had a significant negative impact on what others have understood about my disease. I have been second-guessed, told it was in my head, etc. etc. ALL because the name is WRONG!

I just have to find the money now for all of these supplements. Being on disability, it's hard to even find an extra $5. It's another component that makes this disease hard, no health to work, and no money to get the treatment, meds, supplements, or appointments to get better. Trapped. 😭

      @@josef.torrealba6992Primary Symptoms
Also called “core” symptoms, three primary symptoms are required for diagnosis:
Greatly lowered ability to do activities that were usual before the illness. This drop in activity level occurs along with fatigue and must last six months or longer. People with ME/CFS have fatigue that is very different from just being tired. The fatigue of ME/CFS:
      Can be severe.
Is not a result of unusually difficult activity.
Is not relieved by sleep or rest.
Was not a problem before becoming ill (not life-long).
Worsening of ME/CFS symptoms after physical or mental activity that would not have caused a problem before illness. This is known as post-exertional malaise (PEM). People with ME/CFS often describe this experience as a “crash,” “relapse,” or “collapse.” During PEM, any ME/CFS symptoms may get worse or first appear, including difficulty thinking, problems sleeping, sore throat, headaches, feeling dizzy, or severe tiredness. It may take days, weeks, or longer to recover from a crash. Sometimes patients may be house-bound or even completely bed-bound during crashes. People with ME/CFS may not be able to predict what will cause a crash or how long it will last. As examples:
Attending a child’s school event may leave someone house-bound for a couple of days and not able to do needed tasks, like laundry.
Shopping at the grocery store may cause a physical crash that requires a nap in the car before driving home or a call for a ride home.
Taking a shower may leave someone with ME/CFS bed-bound and unable to do anything for days.
Keeping up with work may lead to spending evenings and weekends recovering from the effort.
Sleep problems. People with ME/CFS may not feel better or less tired, even after a full night of sleep. Some people with ME/CFS may have problems falling asleep or staying asleep.
In addition to these core symptoms, one of the following two symptoms is required for diagnosis:
Problems with thinking and memory. Most people with ME/CFS have trouble thinking quickly, remembering things, and paying attention to details. Patients often say they have “brain fog” to describe this problem because they feel “stuck in a fog” and not able to think clearly.
Worsening of symptoms while standing or sitting upright. This is called orthostatic intolerance. People with ME/CFS may be lightheaded, dizzy, weak, or faint while standing or sitting up. They may have vision changes like blurring or seeing spots.
      Other Common Symptoms
Many but not all people with ME/CFS have other symptoms.
Pain is very common in people with ME/CFS. The type of pain, where it occurs, and how bad it is varies a lot. The pain people with ME/CFS feel is not caused by an injury. The most common types of pain in ME/CFS are:
      Muscle pain and aches
Joint pain without swelling or redness
      Headaches, either new or worsening
Some people with ME/CFS may also have:
Tender lymph nodes in the neck or armpits
A sore throat that happens often
Digestive issues, like irritable bowel syndrome
      Chills and night sweats
Allergies and sensitivities to foods, odors, chemicals, light, or noise
      Muscle weakness
      Shortness of breath
      Irregular heartbeat

No one believes taking a shower can be so difficult. I resort to sitting down in a bath and using hand held shower to rinse. Most often need to lie down for at least 2 hours after. And getting dressed consist of yoga pants and a hoodie. Hair very rarely gets more than a comb through.

I am taking exactly what the doctor in this video said for about 3 weeks now and I do feel a bit more energetic, I do have to supplement during week/working days with Ritalin once in a while as I do have bad days where I still have no energy for nothing
However coincidentally I was talking with my wife yesterday how in general I do feel a little better. Not very much, but all little bits are welcome. I will at least keep this regimen of taking the following supplements for at least 6 months as I do see/feel some potential: Vitamin D, Omega 3 Fish Oil EPA/DHA, D-Ribose, CO Q10, Thyr (Thyroid) support blend, N-Acetyl Cystene, and additionally because of my previous and current medical problems I do take additionally Iron, additional multivitamin, vitamin C and Tramadol for my chronic pain. None of these substances I am exceeding max daily intake so that should be fine. I must say all in all it is quite expensive, but I see it more as a possible investment for my future. Also I am heavily focussed on working my mental issues with spiritual teachings from various sources, but especially from Mahayana Buddism although I don't focus on the religious part of teachings necessarily, listen and read a lot of books from philosophers like Alan Watts, Eckhart Tolle, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Ram Dass and doctors like Gabor Maté and people like Andrew Huberman, they have helped me all a great deal keeping my positivity up in dificult times. @samuelJHolmes I bought it all separately through Amazon, some different brands but with the same strength dosage as the doctor describes, also look for his website, I think he mentions it there in a bit more detail. Since I live outside the US it made more sense to me to get it through Amazon due to shipping fees and times. I sincerely hope it has some positive effect on your mother as it is incredibly difficult to live with and also for the family to deal with this situation. I'm wishing your mom and ofcourse yourself all the best from the bottom of my heart and hope that you find a solution real soon.

This explains so much. I have so many of the symptoms, including some I’d never known were correlated with Fibro...I wake up every night due to a completely numb hand, some times several times. I have hot AND cold flashes. They’re almost never related to the actual temperature, and with the cold flashes, it takes forever to get warm again.

    • @jonprue
      @jonprue 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I had that too but instead of just a numb hand it was my entire body! That was crazy! It was actually intense anxiety and what happens is your blood flows to your core muscle groups causing the numbness in extremities. Search “improvement path anxiety” on TH-cam here and you’ll probably see some things you’ve dealt with. Hope that helps

I don't know why I am just seeing this after all the searching I have done. Has anyone gotten results with what he says in this? I am 44 & male. I have had Fibro for around 6 years now, & have had migraines since I was twelve that has become worse vs better as I age. The combination of the two has done its best to ruin my life & has almost cost me my life as I can no longer bear continuing to fail my wife & nine children. It has gotten to the point that I have apologized to my wife for marrying her & starting a family that I had no business starting. Going onto a low carb & even better an animal only diet has given me the most benefit. I have worked construction for most of my life, but things have gotten so bad holding a job is damn near impossible. With the chronic migraines it has been hard enough. I also love training jiu-jitsu & Muay Thai, as well as weight training. I need to really spend extra time warming up before class/session, & a half hour after I stop moving my body seizes up & I move like my 85yo grandfather (literally hunched over, & stiff until I can warm everything up, but the pain is still there), & mornings are hell.

Victoria Dolci, I agree. It is the lack of deep restorative sleep that is missing. The deep sleep that restores and repairs your body, the sleep that makes you feel rested....restorative sleep ( stage 4).

I have experienced both modes of sleep distrubances. The oversleeping, I believe, is a consequence of sleep disturbances preventing you from getting quality deep (stage 4) sleep. For me, I tend to have a lot of nightmares (which occur during stage 3) that wake me up before I can get stage 4 sleep, and then I go back to sleep repeating the cycle. Other periods of my life, when I have a lot of responsibilities, I have so much anxiety about sleeping for too long and about the nightmares that I can't seem to fall asleep.

I second the doctor, Carbs and food with high GI are your worst enemy, just avoid them for now. Eat a lot of vegetables and leafy greens. Take vitamins, you will start noticing that your sleep improves. Moreover, Take a lot of Herbs tea that help to calm and sleep better, like Tulsi, Chamomile, Lavender and lemonbalm, if your sleep gets better you will feel much better during the day. Moreover, herbs like Curcumin(taken with black pepper ) will help you to reverse the effect of stress and fatigue over time. Read about them! and wish you all the best in your lives :)

There were so many points where what he was describing described me exactly, in weird ways. For instance, I have long described the onset of my muscle pain as "it feels like the muscle randomly tenses and hardens up until it exhausts itself and starts hurting, even when I'm not using it." I have also noticed cognitive improvements when I switched from veganism to eating meat again after months of intense cravings (this is probably the only time I'll admit to having been vegan, because vegans who stop, no matter how sick, are relentlessly bullied by vegans). Additionally, I crave loads of salt and can't seem to hold onto any water. I could go on for pages.

I have very much enjoyed his presentation.
I was diagnosed with Fibro a couple of years ago . I also have Lupus , sleep apnea along with many other problems.. My only issue with his talk is the sleep part. I'm almost totally opposite thank goodness.
I can sleep pretty much anywhere anytime 😊

Me too but never jump out of bed feeling refreshed and ready for the day. I have also read that fibromyalgia can make you more sensitive to pain but I have a very high pain tolerance

It's not only the hypothalamus that controls peristalsis... nerves do as well and spinal subluxation, MAY play a role in slowed transit.... that is *definitely* the case with me. Subluxation could be purely mechanically caused or can arise secondary to the other causes such as infection/inflammation, according to what Ive heard from chiropractors. Inflammation in and around the spine and its surrounding tissues can impact the operation of the nerves, even the vagus.

Thank you for this clear and concise explanation.
Mine started by the fuse slowly becoming weekend by years of trauma, then that drop dead flu, followed by an injury and living in a toxic environment. Which then blew the fuse.
I had been doing SHINE and didn't realise it. It was really once I addressed all the reasons I blew the fuse that I completely recovered from Lupus, Fibromyalgia ad CFS.

In my case....pesticide/herbicide poisoning was the root of my health crisis. I am so sensitive now just being in proximity to these poisons sets off symptoms that will last for weeks, months even years. The issues I observe in others, when I ask about exposure to poisons is always somewhere in their timeline of sickness. Pesticides/herbicides are in everything and if they kill a "bug" or "weed" they are KILLING HUMANS.
