I'm a 2012 c250 owner and have experienced this same problem since 2014. This is a horrible issue for anyone that has experienced this problem. I'm hoping there hasn't been any fatalities do to this problem. I'm also upset that Mercedes consistently denies how serious this problem is. I understand that there's wear and tear on vehicles but there's people who have this problem driving out the dealership. I'm reaching out to all of you to help support on starting a recall on this problem. Below is a link on where to file a complaint. I hope you all share 5 minutes of your time to submit your complaint. Flexx keep up the good work bud. NHTSA link: www.safercar.gov/
I have had the same problem twice now whilst on the interstate trying to overtake. I agree this is a serious safety issue and I have completed a report (only took 5 minutes) at the link you provided, thanks. I think everyone should file a complaint to force the issue and make Mercedes Benz take responsibility before (if it’s not too late already) a fatal accident occurs. I have a 2014 C250 with 67k miles on the clock.
I took 10 minutes to file a detailed report for same issue 2012 C250 with P0002 code power loss while accelerating, I hope something is done about this, Thanks for all the great info.
Everything that this guy said is absolutely what is happening to our car exactly I mean it’s very dangerous and I can’t believe the number of people who have this issue and I can’t believe Mercedes has not had a recall on this I mean it’s a crime and it’s a shame
I thought I was the only one with this problem this happens so much to me when I push down pretty heavy on the gas and after a couple times of turning the car off it will go away but still is a problem because I can never actually press down hard GREAT VIDEO FLEXX
Truly appreciate Flexx Alexander for posting this video. FYI to all, this high pressure fuel pump is indeed part of extended factory vehicle warranty/recall by MB USA. They finally recognized this to be a major issue. I have a 2013 MB C250, so check with MB USA. My car had this issue for years, initially thought to be the turbo, but after turbo was repaired the acceleration issue continued for years and no one could really figure out the problem. Recently tried to sell my car and the buyer test driving it floored the gas and the issue came back and I panicked but scanned my car, got the P0002 code and came across this video. Took my car to dealership and got it repaired for free, saved me thousands. My car finally drives perfect as it should.
Yes, I already shared that a few months back. I got the letter as well. Only thing that sucks is that most people already got it repaired (not by MB) so they can’t get reimbursed or their car is way out of the extended warranty period. I feel like MB knew about it but didn’t want to do anything until the last second so it’s less exposure to them covering the fix. This is the same exact route they took with the camshaft adjuster issue on the c250.
Thanks a million! Happened to my W204 too. The dealer could not find the root cause. Since I had watched your video, I insisted on double-checking and they finally confirmed it's the High Pressure Fuel Pump!
One thing everyone should know is the way this turbo setup up is built you can't just punch the gas , I've noticed if you treat it like it has a big turbo setup and want to pass someone, if u hold the downshift lever to the left and the car will shift to the safest gear and then just gradually give it gas all the way down as your buildin boost until youve passed traffic or merged etc. Never step on the gas all at once and the kickdown function on this model is just terrible so I personally don't use it , hope this helps
Flexx!! My man with the best videos and content💪🏼 this has happened to me at least 3 times and now it makes sense the high pressure fuel pump I’ve known how to fix it, by shutting the car on and off a few times to reset it. Thank you for seriously posting this! You are awesome brother! 🤙🏼
Yo Alex, as you probably knew already, YEP, I had this problem last year where the dealership had my car for over 3 months on hold because the high pressure fuel pump was on back order and there was only 5, THAT's 5 HFP's in the entire USA available for distribution. but this is a known issue with Mercedes Benz. I'd say though that the real problem is that MB hasn't made enough inventory of these HFP's to send out to the US for replacements. Also, for all those who may not know, these same 2012-2015 C250's also have a passenger air back recall on them as well. AND AGAIN, this issue can not be resolved because the original company that made the airbags went out of business. So MB had established another company who was suppose to take this up, but again, the airbags are on back order.
2 days ago I picked up a slightly used like new 2014 C250 with the same identical problem. Thank you for this information. I just saw further below the MB Warranty extension for 10 years. You are the BEST!!! Thank you for making a very informative video on this subject!!!
@@hyperbull8450 , I just now saw your response. Sorry for the delay. The best thing to do is have your VIN number checked at the Mercedes-Benz dealership for any type of warranty extension. The 10-year 100K warranty extension on my car is a factory warranty extension for a known flaw on the high pressure fuel pump.
I had that issue with mine. I was told where I got my 2013 c250 w204 that I had a bad coil?? It got replaced and hasn’t happened to me again….yet. But good to know this info. Thanks flex.
I’m having this issue right now. I found a kool little solution besides shutting the car off. I just put the car into sport mode and only hit the gas about a quarter ways to the floor. The car gets moving and doesn’t put it into limp mode. Now it’s not a fix at all but you’ll definitely get more power to pass on the freeway and you’ll be able to continue to drive until you have enough to get the problem fixed. I’m about to buy another HPFP soon and try to replace it myself.
Leave it in eco and just hold the lever in the downshift position and it will put it in the safest gear , then treat it like you have a big turbo setup and gradually step on the gas till it's all the way down and shift accordingly (reason for eco is because in sport it will shift closer to redline , and will require more work and fuel from the pump)
@@BC2FITTY even when I do that, eco mode still doesn’t have the power I’m looking for or need to pass, sometimes. So what I’ve learned is to just hit the paddle and upshift the car on my own before it gets close to redline. I have the power to pass and don’t have to worry about the pump putting in too much work.
I have this issue in my 2013 C200. I called Mercedes Benz Australia head office and informed them in order to recall all those model cars .they said we haven't receive any complaint except you. So all those who have this kind of issue contact Mercedes Benz Australia and let them know. They will for sure recall and will be fixed for free. Thanks
I made a comment of this b4. Pretty much my rule of thumb is not to floor it when ur gas is low, and when I mean low. I'm talking about little below a quarter. I had this happen b4 and it's not a fun time trying to fix it in a middle of a commute. In my case, all I had to do is clear the code and it was back to normal.
I have a '13 C250 Coupe. I love it! What contrast from my '72 280Se 4.5 or my 89 560SEL. The C Class handles like a go-cart. Just twice now, when I nail it the bogs, check engine goes on and looses power as what seems like its turbo is not responding, but does not go to limp mode. I runs at whatever speed you want to go, shifts fine but just as if it does not have the extra boost. If I shut off and re-start. it still runs like described above. If I clear codes it will run fine, and will provide high power as long as I load it slower, not nailing it instantaneously. The effect is akin to an old 4 barrel without secondary accelerator pump. A big bog that is, but eventually gets up and goes. This just started, so no trouble shooting yet, and the only thing I loose it the ability to nail it. ANy suggestions or insight would be appreciated.
Hey Flex man thanks for the info. Just got off phone with my service rep and he confirmed the warranty extension on the high pressure fuel pump does qualify my car so taking it in this Thursday.
So I have had the issue for 2 years. I have found 2 ways to minimize the issue: 1. Always put the car is (S) Sport mode and not (E) Eco. 2. Add Octane booster to your tank at each fill-up, I get the $3.49 Oreilly octane booster. Keep in mind I am in California, and most stations are limited to octane 91. My confusion is if it is the HPFP pump, why have I been able to drive it for 2 years without complete failure. I get the issue about twice a week P0002, limp mode, turn it off and restart. Is there not some way to rebuild it yourself?
Stan Nelson I'm having the same issue now going on one year but it is now happening more frequently. Shut off the car and restart the car resets everything. No one can find a code or what's what wrong. My car is always in sport now so I won't buck but since last night it's doing it on all accelerating. I'm actually scared now so I'm here reading and googling.
Amazing how many people have this problem .. so with me it happens when I pass .. and when I pass and push down on the Accelerator quickly and forcefully it then goes limp .. and suddenly I can’t even go over 30 miles an hour .. it’s incredibly dangerous and a really serious issue
There was finally an extended warranty on it (I think). You’d have to reach out to Mercedes Benz USA and give them your vin and ask. Still a little late by Mercedes’ if you ask me.
@@TheFlexxGarage there was and I took mine in and they said the fuel pump wasn’t the issue and it came back with a broken charge pipe that they wanted $1k to fix
I ran into this issue and as soon as I turned my car off and waited about 5min, before starting it again, and it was 100% normal, however if you try to start it right after you turn it off it is likely that the car will not start the first time and the check engine light will be on!!! Car needs to have 5-10 min before it is started again, I have noticed that other people have been doing this as a temporary solution just to get where you need to go!
Same thing happened to me. How do we go about getting Mercedes to do a recall it's such a common issue surely there's a way to bring it to their attention. Any suggestions?
My 2014 C250 did the same thing in January 2023. I saw this video and thought, that has to be it. (I've been a professional VW/Audi Technician since 1985 with Mercedes experience). I was passing a car on freeway and "boom" the car went into Limp mode with the check engine light turning on immediately. I erased the fault and all was fine for 6 months until it happened again when merging almost full throttle on the freeway in June 2023. I saw here in the past comments that there was a warranty extension still available on my car with only 64K miles. I visited the MB dealer in Bellevue Washington and told them about the high psi fuel pump warranty extension for 10 years or 100K miles. They charged me $250 to check and said that there was a low-voltage fault software update that has to be done first. I said OK, do the update. My car went into LIMP mode again 3 days later when punching the gas pedal quickly to beat the light from turning red. I was at 35MPH and hit the gas. It went into LIMP mode again with the check engine light turning on immediately. I brought it back to the dealer in July 2023 in Bellevue Washington and said,,, " I'll will bet you $100 that the repair is 100% for sure the high psi fuel pump" The dealer ordered the FUEL pump, installed the high psi fuel pump in August 2023. I'm HAPPY to report that the car is 100% fixed. I drove the car hard on the freeway, and top speed with ZERO issues. I've made sure it fixed before typing this info. I'm happy. Thank you for the useful information.
Wow…wish they didn’t give you a runaround the first time. That type of stuff pisses me off when shops just throw parts and services at the problem and make you pay instead of truly diagnosing the issue and fixing it right the first time. I’m glad the issue was resolved. This is not the first time with Mercedes, they also had the camshaft adjuster issue on the c250 that they didn’t issue a warranty extension until like 8 years afterwards. They just sent me a warranty extension for a purge valve on my 2016 w205 c300….after I already paid a third party shop over $1,000 to replace because I was out of warranty. Let’s see if Mercedes will even reimburse me for their defect.
@@TheFlexxGarage ,, 🙋🏻♂️. I know, and I paid $250 for a software update that I knew was NOT going to fix it but I paid it anyway. I really like the service advisor at the dealer. He called me and told me they accidentally broke a vacuum line while replacing the high pressure fuel pump. They ordered the vacuum line which put my car down for a total of 10 days for a 2 day repair. The advisor was really really good at taking care of me with car rental and loaner cars. But, 3 days after the repair, the check engine light came on with an EVAP system small leak detected fault. I'm diagnosing on my own, I saved the screenshots. (Before I smoke the lines I will replace the gas cap and maybe the evap purge valve). Thanks again for everything and your cool TH-cam channel 🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♂️🤙🤙
Nope. Cause I had the issue at 30k miles on my 2012 C250 and I had a different issue at 40k miles on my 2016 C300. Good ole Mercedes! Definitely check to see if there’s a recall or extended warranty coverage. Cause if it’s a common problem, Mercedes usually has an extended warranty for it.
I have this problem with my Mercedes the first time I pushed the gas pedal all the way in I did get the same thing u say I did it like 3 times and I did get the check engine light so I don’t push my pedal gas all the way anymore ☹️ but good to know how to fix this problem thanks a lot bro you have a lot of information very interesting things about Mercedes thanks bro
I appreciate this b/c i just started having this issue. The dealership said its like a 12oo-15oo job. Any one know how to or have instructions on how to fix it once you get the part. I'm pretty decent in repairing things my self and would enjoy not having to pay for the labor Thanks guys !!
I have the exact same problem. I’ve been taking it to the dealership and they “can’t seem to figure it out,” which is possibly BS. Took it in again today with the code P000277. Here’s the notes from the mechanic: “the quantity control valve has a malfunction, the commanded position can not be reached. Followed guided tests and fuel pressure testing all passed. Passed test resistance in high pressure pump. Passed test resistance from ME through engine harness.” The dealership even told me they called Mercedes because they had never seen the issue. My car does not do it every time I hit the gas. It’s done it many times over the past few months. This week it did it on Monday and Wednesday. I get that maybe it’s a glitch right now, not a complete fail which is why the dealership “can’t diagnose the problem”, but I don’t really want to wait until it completely fails. I kinda feel like they just fed me a load of bullshit. I literally found very similar issues with a single Google search. Grrrrr! Sorry, I’m a little pissed right now.
That’s not a permanent fix. Everyone has done that temporarily but you should def get it checked out before you get stranded. There was an extended warranty on the fuel pump. You should have your local Benz dealership run your vin number to see if you’re qualify for a free replacement.
Is this the same in a diesel??? I was told it’s the boost gauge or turbo but the mechanic said he couldn’t see any cracks or issues with the turbo piping it’s very well maintained. He then said it could be the suction of the turbo….. my car is intermittent it goes like the clappers but then decides to space out and do what is noted in this video so it could be a fuel pump….. 💁🏼♂️ even told it could be catalytic converter but chucked Catclean down and that cleared up
Have had a similar issue only when doing hard pulls either at a stand still or slow rolling around 10 mph in manual mode and it’d cut power and engine brake immediately around 5-7k rpm’s so I’d immediately put it back into normal drive mode and just drive normally and it’d be fine. Didn’t really think much about it for a while as I daily drive it and stopped doing so many pulls or just being hard on the car because I don’t want anything else to break but here recently I just started having starting issues where the engine will continuously turn over for at least 3 seconds before finally a very rough start. Runs fine after that even when idling. Tested battery and was good replaced alternator after testing it and still didn’t fix so made a post online and one guy said it could possibly be the fuel pump pressure regulator as it sounds like it’s having to build up pressure from the videos I posted of me starting it up. Definitely could use some advice if there’s a chance that could be potentially the issue or at-least part of as I had other people saying I might need a whole new spark/coil pack kit, coolant possibly leaking into a cylinder from a bad head gasket, etc. so I don’t feel like spending more time and money on parts I don’t need. I could and probably should just take it to a shop but don’t feel like spending the money and would rather do it myself if feasible.
Also forgot to mention my cars a 2012 c63 amg base model which has the M156 engine so I figured it’d all be pretty similar parts and configuration given the year model you have.
I dont get a check engine light but if I gun it from a stop the car jerks as if I'm pressing the gas and letting up repeatedly. I wonder if its the same fuel pump issue
I have this problem with my 2013 Mercedes I was looking for why my Mercedes is doing this and I got a notification for Mercedes today that I need to take my Mercedes to the dealer to fix this problem for free just amazing they going to replace the high pressure fuel pump they don’t say why but I think is because this problem u talking about great 👍
I had the same code and it kept going into limp mode. Took it to Mercedes...and it was the pump. Luckily it was still under the cpo warranty. It was on back order for 3 months but no $ out of pocket
I bought an used 2013 C250 from a private party and had what you described happen to me driving on fwy. Car is at local MBZ mechanic for going on 1 day and check engine light isn't coming on and he cannot see what issue is. So waiting game. He said I may have to take it to MBZ dealership if he cannot figure out what is going on with my car.
Had the same issue with power loss on my MB c250 2012 and P0002 error or P008A (low pressure fuel system - pressure too low), sometimes both at the same time. First thing you need to do is to replace fuel filters (there is regular fuel filter under the left back seat and coarse filter before the low pressure pump under the right back seat, you'll have to disassemle fuel pump a little bit to find that kind of pouch filter). After replacing first filter and cleaning second I can accelerate up to 6200rpm without any errors. Hope this help to somebody
I experienced this same issue. i am ordering a new fuel pump and also checking the filter sock you mentioned. on the xentry it shows low fuel pressure.
This just happened to me a few days ago for the first time. I was literally leaving my local Mercedes dealership after getting an oil change. I was trying to pass a car and pressed hard on the gas. Loss acceleration. I made a U turn and went straight back to the dealership. They told me what the code read but also said the check engine light turned off by itself. “If it happens again, bring it back in.” 😑
Did you find out I'm having the same problem on hard acceleration. Changing into next lane merging into the freeway. Limp mode check engine light blinks then stays on. Then when I restart the car it dissapeared no codes.
I just thought a conductor plate and my CL500 2003 I am not getting no accelerate when I step in the gas the car feel like it's going to limp mode that's why I do not take the highway no more trying to correct this problem my work on my car myself my check engine light was clear first after I did the conductor plate but it popped back on not sure if it's the throttle position sensor
I have a 2014 C250 with 42000mi. I was sent a letter from mercedes on this issue. I have the same issue, the service manager said that only if it sets a certain code will they warranty it. He didnt tell me what the code was. He said they have to use the mercedes scanner. i reset my engine light and had a p0002 fuel pressure circuit code. The light went out but the code said it was permanent on my scanner.
Hi, I have a 2010 c250 same problem it only happen once but it was pretty scary I didn't know at the time but if I would pot the shift on neutral shot the car off and turn it back on quickly it would be O.K. , I went to the Mercedes dealer the guy never mentioned the fuel pump he said something else that it could cost me if rebuild $700 I can't remember what, now I don't know if there is any difference between 2010 and 2012 C250 models as I sad it only done once but if you know any thing for the 2010 C250 please let me know. Thanks Roman
hello, thanks for vid. Had the same replaced the pump, was fine for 3 months and now again the same happens. I replaced it with a new OEM original pump. Any idea what else might be the real culprit here? I don't believe I was so unlucky that the new one got broken so fast. Any ideas??
@@TheFlexxGarage Is there any fuel filter on this engine? I found air and oil filter parts but no fuel filter to be replaced. Maybe it has a different name?
Hi Flexx. 2012 C250 with 128k miles just got the turbo replaced. I just experienced the limp mode you mentioned. It wasn't pretty. p0002 error code. Do you have a video on replacing the HPFP?
I just recently replaced my HPFP. If you haven’t done the job yet, just reply to this message and I’ll help you out. It’s a pretty annoying job but I’ve managed to learn a few short cuts to expedite the process. Always willing to share to help others out.
Sometimes it can be the maf sensor that is dirty so the air can not go in the small sensors straight away that is also a big issue with power loss in the Mercedes. So check that out first because it’s much cheaper guys !
On most cars that might work but not on the c250. This car doesn’t even have a MAF. Mercedes just issued a notice about the fuel pump issue and an extended warranty. They are finally owning up to this known issue with loss of power cause it could happen at any mileage on a c250.
After clearing the same error code, the malfunction light did not come on again, but the sound in the car's engine changed. Do you think it would be harmful for me to continue like this? Some people told me that there is a possibility of mixing gasoline with oil.
Yes sir, I had 2009model c200 kompresor, troble code p2263 ,supercharger boost system performance, what is coz of problems sir, what should I do,hope you will share me your idea, tnx
Hi. So I had the light just come on and I bought my own battery tester to check it. I’m getting this code to. Does that mean it needs to go into the shop? Or can I clear it and just watch the speed? I’m lost in what to do.
I have a mercedes C200 with w204 engine 1800cc turbo year 2012 amg when I start the engine no acceleration when I press the gas pedal what could be the issue
check your codes; i had this happen with a misfire from an ignition coil. Could also be spark plugs - change out all four coils if you want to get it over with because all four of mine misfired in a month, but not after.
I have the same problem with my 2010 c350. When I press the pedal down all the way it goes limp. But it rarely happens. Once every 10-15 times I floor it. I’m not sure if it is the same reason because mine has a different engine
I have the issue of car shaking on acceleration and can’t go up to speed, it happens every time but there is no CEL and no codes on the scanner! It is really frustrating and I am not sure what to do. I have c250 2014 coupe.
I had the same issue I changed out the ignition coil but the trick is you have to find out which one is failing I did it buying just one and swapping it out with each coil one by one I did it the cheap way to find out which failing just to make sure it was the ignition coil instead of buying all of them and it not being the problem but once I found out it was the ignition coils I did replace all of them and no more shaking on acceleration or weird vibrations
I bought a MB c250 at an auction and I seem to have the same concern about stalling and lossing it's power when accelerating plus engine light turns on. Auction return policy is good for only 7 days. Where can I get a used high pressure fuel pump and how much will labor cost to install it. Is there any recall for this part by MB dealer. When I change it how can I better take care of it to make it last or how many times will this happen to me for it's(car)lifetime.
it never happened to me but happened to alot of people. I suggest you read through the comments and see where people bought their pumps and if there's any news on MB covering it.
Hi can you help me my C250 coupe 2012 is on limp mode and It's been involved in a accident I fixed the car body and air bags put the car is on limp mode and not fixing using your method any help
I have a 2018 c300 4matic w205. Two days ago I got a service B, yesterday when I turned on the engine, once I started driving, I couldn’t accelerate, the power was low. Do you think is the same issue of your video?
Don’t know. Could be anything. If you experienced that issue, then your car should of thrown a check engine light. Only way to know the true issue is to hook up a OBD2 scan tool/reader to the car and see what fault made the check engine light come on.
I currently have a vehicle I purchased at Auction... looks like they replaced the HPFP but I'm not sure .. I say that because the hose clamps are aftermarket, unless all they did was change hoses. I cant get car to run unless I use a starter fluid. Any idea how to check fuel pressure? Cant seem to find a Schrader valve.
I'm really glad you did this video! Unfortunately, my car started with this for the first time today. I did an ECU reset to see if that might have been the issue so I will keep an eye out to see if my car keeps acting up. Do you know if this is an install that I could perform myself or would it be best if I went to a mechanic?
Someone did a video, maybe not on this model, replacing this pump along the firewall. There is little to no room, and he had to remove many components to get at it. He said it was possible to do if you know what you are doing and can stand the frustration. He actually used an engine hoist and loosened the engine mounts to make more room, though he said that was not needed if you don't mind tight fits for hands and tools. This acceleration case it is probably a high chance of the pump, but getting the code in general can have other causes like the sensor or wiring
@@mykofreder1682 Just an update on my issue. So this happened to me about a week after I had an oil change. I read somewhere that I should first try doing a reset of my ECU. I did that and have not had this issue happen to me all week. I have tried every day to make the issue reappear by accelerating at various speeds up to 80 mph, yet everything seems fine after the ECU reset. It could have just been some random issue with my car. Bottom line is, if you have this issue especially shortly after some sort of service, give your ECU a reset and see what happens.
Hi Flex ! Nice video !! Especially the engine diagram very helpful!! Can you make video how to fix it ? What needs to be romoved how and if I need special tools and measuring device ? Also if Anyone knows How to replace the high pressure fuel pump on 2013 SLK 250 1.8L ? The engine looks the same and if I’m ordering any parts it shows same as for this car on the video .I guess it has the same engine. I saw only 2 videos on TH-cam but can’t see much they say to turn the engine on 52 🤷🏽♂️ also people measuring the pressure in the HPFP . So I’m wondering if I just take the two bolts and two hoses and replace it .If I could mess up anything if I don’t measure the pressure also it’s gas don’t want to burn the whole car after replacing it my self ,but if it’s easy just 2 bolts 30 min job don’t see why paying $1000 labor and $800 for fuel pump at Mercedes dealership!!! I just ordered the pump new for $300 !!! I did pay $209 diagnostic even telling them it’s the HPFP prior diagnostic 🌰🥊so it would cost me $500 instead $2000 at MB if I fix it . Also when I called the MB they said $499 the part but at the shop different lady told me $790 🤷🏽♂️ than trust people like this .... that’s $300 difference so I bought new online for $312 ... because MB don’t have it in stock anyway and they have to order it , takes one week on the island so I get it in one week too ordered last night also with pulleys which they want $490 parts and labor I paid $28 for 2 pulleys and it’s one screw each pulley 10 min job $400 labor at MB😅
I never had the issue that’s why I never made a video. I only made this video because I knew what the issue was that everyone was having and wanted to share the info.
Ok cool hopefully someone let me know within a week otherwise I just take it to European specialist mechanic I take my other benz and Bmw, with the part I bring they shouldn’t charge for more than 2 h work..

Hey Flexx - my 2014 c250 was leaking at the banjo bolt by the turbo.. but after replacing all that it no longer leaks at the banjo bolt but now (sometimes) i see a little oil under the turbo that dripped down onto the shock(?) - it drips down onto whatever that thing is under the turbo. I was thinking it may be the turbo oil return line to the oil pan but it's been a pain in the butt to diagnose. any suggestions?
Common problem with the banjo bolt. The other spot is where the air intake tube clamps onto the inlet of the turbo. Oil tends to pool up and slow seep out. It’s happens on the Inlet and outlet of the turbo. Keep an eye on it...it should only leak some oil. If the oil gets worse, you might need a new turbo or need to get it serviced.

Hard to tell cause any could fail. Could be a defective brand new one or a fully serviced refurbished one. It’s gonna come down to your risk level. In my opinion, I would wanna do this once and be done so I would get one directly from a dealership.
Hi flexx. my car is 2009 mercedez benz c class. My problem is that my car won't accelerate, it's not engaging in gears, it's like it's In limp mode. The check engine light came on and it's me 3281 fault code saying the boost pressure control flap is malfunctioning. Kindly help me out
This is an old video. I already shared the extended warranty last year when i received the letter. It’s not on all c250 and it’s terrible because most c250s are way above 120k anyway. Plus most people repaired it themselves or through a 3rd party shop and Mercedes’ won’t reimburse unless the work was done by Mercedes’. Just another way for Mercedes’ to say they did something but really didn’t cause they waited so long. Screws the customer over at the end of the day on this issue.
@@TheFlexxGarage I have a 2014 Mercedes with 80,000 miles and my car started sputtering if I try to step on it hard and engine light turns on until I turn off my car and restart. Does the fuel injector fuel cleaner have anything to do? I filled the tank up and this happened on the same tank.

Me too. It sturtles
@@huantsai9406 does w205 have that recall or what is it called
Thanks a million! Happened to my W204 too. The dealer could not find the root cause. Since I had watched your video, I insisted on double-checking and they finally confirmed it's the High Pressure Fuel Pump!
Nice!
so they replaced only the high pressure fuel pump and the problem was solved?
And how much did it cost?
Flex, you are the MAN!! This is twice you've helped me with my car.
Thank you so much for this. I had the same problem on 1.8 petrol w204 face-lift. Replaced the High pressure fuel pump and it works perfectly now.
Thank you for making a very informative video on this subject!!!
when did this extended warranty start? or do i have to purchase that? im having the same problem at this moment!
i have a 2012 would my 10 year pass already?
The vehicle must be less then 120k miles
@@hyperbull8450 , I just now saw your response. Sorry for the delay. The best thing to do is have your VIN number checked at the Mercedes-Benz dealership for any type of warranty extension. The 10-year 100K warranty extension on my car is a factory warranty extension for a known flaw on the high pressure fuel pump.
Described the problem with my 2014 C250 perfectly. Thanks for the video explanation.
Wow I’ve been looking for this answer forever thank you sir
this guy just saved me from fixing sm other shit i thought was the problem thank you brotha !
Nice
If you have a salvaged car do you think it still works
I had the same issue mine was under aftermarket warranty. They changed my spark plugs coils and inner cooler. and that fixed it.
Did you have to pay anything?
@@GamingLife114 did you had to change all coils an would hesitate when you would step hard on the gas
I had the same issue on my 2013 C250, Mercedes replaced the high pressure fuel pump for free under the warranty extension!
There you go. Nice!

Same thing happened to me. How do we go about getting Mercedes to do a recall it's such a common issue surely there's a way to bring it to their attention. Any suggestions?

What was the Cost David....

I appreciate this b/c i just started having this issue. The dealership said its like a 12oo-15oo job. Any one know how to or have instructions on how to fix it once you get the part. I'm pretty decent in repairing things my self and would enjoy not having to pay for the labor
Thanks guys !!
Msbral Shotner did you fix your problem?

Had these symptoms in an SLK with same engine. Replaced hp pump, ended up being fuel pressure sensor .
Yeah. It could be the fuel pump for some cars as well.
Hey flex , are there any DIY’s on how to replace the high pressure pump? I only see the secondary pump replacement located in the rear
Thanks for the video! I had similar instance the other day. All seems OK with tuning engine off and giving it a rest for a while.
That’s not a permanent fix. Everyone has done that temporarily but you should def get it checked out before you get stranded. There was an extended warranty on the fuel pump. You should have your local Benz dealership run your vin number to see if you’re qualify for a free replacement.
Hi this video was very helpful for me because I have the seme problem In my MercedesC250 2014
John Ray yes that's exactly what's happening to my c250 and I'm here trying to figure out what to do without getting ripped off by the dealership

Common issue
I bought an used 2013 C250 from a private party and had what you described happen to me driving on fwy. Car is at local MBZ mechanic for going on 1 day and check engine light isn't coming on and he cannot see what issue is. So waiting game. He said I may have to take it to MBZ dealership if he cannot figure out what is going on with my car.
Had that issue on my C250, it was the fuel pump. Had the factory warranty so it was a free fix
Thank you for sharing your experiences!!!!
“If it happens again, bring it back in.” 😑
Indeed very disappointing response from the dealership!!
Did you find out I'm having the same problem on hard acceleration. Changing into next lane merging into the freeway. Limp mode check engine light blinks then stays on. Then when I restart the car it dissapeared no codes.

The light went out but the code said it was permanent on my scanner.

It’s not so much about the engine but the fuel pump/fuel filter that’s the culprit.
I have the issue of car shaking on acceleration and can’t go up to speed, it happens every time but there is no CEL and no codes on the scanner! It is really frustrating and I am not sure what to do. I have c250 2014 coupe.
Probably can be as easy as a fuel filter change. If not, take it somewhere to get the fuel pump checked out.
Thanks Flex.
Hola cambié el fuel pump pressure y sigue igual que será entonces el sensor?
I have that same question I recently replaced my hpfp and my ecm but the code it still on there.
There is no Schrader valve. I use a laptop with Autoenginuity enhanced for Mercedes.
@@BondsNTags how do u do an ecu reset?
@@BondsNTags How did you reset your ECU..I just threw this code yesterday but my car operates like normal

hey Flexx! is there any way to message you for some help? or should i just comment my issue. really looking for your help you know all!
Where did you order from
It may be the fuel pump and fuel filter too
There Are 2 fuel pump in the 271 evo 1 at front 1 at the back
can you upload more
hello every one I do have this problem today, it is safe drive the car for a few days? or I do have to stop the car, of course jut to wait some. money to fix it

Omg! I had this issue! Cost me $$$$
I have a c300 2008 and i m having this problem but the mechanical plugged my car to a scanner and he told me that everything is fine...idk does the w203 c300 2008 have that problem too?
@@TheFlexxGarage Thank you SO MUCH for responding! I don't know jack about cars so this is a huge help (literally everything i've done to my car has been via your guidance). I think I know what you are referring to, but at least now I have names I can google haha. You're a life saver. Thank you bro.
I just fixed the high pressure fuel pump but got code 0705 now for the transmission and i think the transmission code caused the fuel pump code! So i think i fixed the pump for nothing! Make sure to check all codes before spending 1500 on the fuel pump. Now i gotta fix the transmission electrical circuit fml
Is this HPFP responsible for P0001?
I have a 2013 C250 same problem I'm super tired of cars with the same problem and no one does anything about it I had a Nissan with the same problem with a catalytic converter soooo many complaints
Hey can you help me out , I think am having the same problem with me c250 2013 model. Having poor performance with the Acceleration ..
where can you buy a used high pressure fuel pump for a Mercedes SLK250. What sites are the best to go to? I am having this problem with my SLK250
eBay. There’s tons of refurbished ones for under $300
@@TheFlexxGaragedo they fail after a while too? I mean refurbished ones? Thnx for feedback
Hard to tell cause any could fail. Could be a defective brand new one or a fully serviced refurbished one. It’s gonna come down to your risk level. In my opinion, I would wanna do this once and be done so I would get one directly from a dealership.
I’ve had this issue twice with my C250
Hi flexx. my car is 2009 mercedez benz c class. My problem is that my car won't accelerate, it's not engaging in gears, it's like it's In limp mode. The check engine light came on and it's me 3281 fault code saying the boost pressure control flap is malfunctioning. Kindly help me out
I’m having that problem with my 1999 sl500 R129. Any suggestions?
Mercedes does have an extended warranty for the high pressure fuel pump, they will replace it free if it fails before 10 years 120,000 miles
Any other info for this fuel pump warranty?
Took mine in and they said it wasn’t the fuel pump even though mine has these exact issues
