- The purpose of this video is to show you how to reset your automatic Mercedes-Benz transmission into the re-learn state.
Maybe you are experiencing rough shifts between gears ⚙️ and or transmission shifting is no longer smooth. Using this method you can easy do it yourself and save a lot of money and it takes less than 10 minutes to for this very easy and simple DIY.
The car used in this Video is a Mercedes-Benz C-Class W204 but this method works on a lot of that Mercedes-Benz classes.
I have done this process about twice now and if you Follow instructions in the video carefully and step by step, it will work as it has worked for me.

One thing he forgot to mention is, after you go thru the process, you drive the car in a way that you normally would. The next 40 to 50 shift changes will be very important. If you are a fast driver, your transmission will let you go to higher rpm's before it shifts up. If you are a more conservative driver, and you want to save a little gas, drive without flooring the gas pedal, and without any hard accelerations, and your car will learn to shift up quicker and keep the rpm lower. You can reset your transmission every 6 months or so, it will not hurt anything, and might even help you with a better driving experience.

My 2009 C220 cdi was giving me all sorts of strangeness in Sports mode - jerking, seemingly like it was in limp mode at times, hitting a point and then revving up and down. Well, this cured it completely and I am so grateful for this video. Top work man.

It works! Easy-to-follow practical guide. Self-disabled auto-box released. Able to drive to garage to get underlying problem checked out. Delighted!

Bro this was the best video on resetting the transmission. I did this on my 2020 e350. So easy to follow and it has released sluggishness I had on the car.
I just did this last night to my ML350. My wife was stuck at gym and it definitely worked. I was able to get home. I had battery and auxiliary battery replaced last week and it still went into limp mode. Thanks for info!!

Can you tell me more wich problems you had with the transmission? I have also a Cla 220 and in traffic the car doesn’t change good anymore, and I can’t change to sport modus or manual. When I arrived home next day it’s good again. Is this one of the symptoms?
@louisvanhemert6576 it could be the conductor plate but it requires you to dismantle the gearbox
@Anthony Gibbo my transmission on my 2009 c300 was running fine and one day I pulled out of my driveway and started driving but now it won't shift out of first now would that be the cause of the problem or is it my whole transmission the problem.

My 96 E320 transmission does things that make me nervous and I thought I need to spend a fortune in a service dealer. What happened was Reverve not moving. Neutral became Reverse. Drive became Neutral & vehicles started moving in 3. I tried your trick this morning and you know what: It works. Thank you so much for this great video.

this is amazing video. it has solved the issue i had in my GLA 220 4matic cdi. wouldnt go into DSR, sport or manual. only worked in economy. this reset the faults.. i turned the car of thinking it didnt work.. came back 3 hours later and then it worked..

The dealer will actually tow any Mercedes for free as long as it’s to a Mercedes dealer ship.
My 2001 c200 was so sluggish I was always keeping it in sports mode to keep some grunt up hills . After doing this work mode now has amazing pull and the gear change is quicker and smoother :)

Wow. I tried another video's transmission reset instructions but it didn't work. (The difference was the 5 mins waiting time) After trying yours and waiting for 5 mins, I went for a test drive and now my gears shift so smoothly now!

Wow! This works like a charm! My 2011 w204 was vibrating and loosing power during hard acceleration. When I did this it’s completely stopped.
Some mechanic told me I needed to change the center bearing, another told me my plugs and coils needed replacement. You have Saved me a couple bucks here.

Interesting, i have a W202 that the shift behaves like weather one day its impressive other days is sluggish and heavy will try the trick and will advise if the performance in shifting is consistent.
But with my W204 , it completely lost power on open road and could not go beyond 100km/h, but i replaced low pressure fuel pump, the performance is good but not giving the kick i used to get when accellerating.

Hi my brother, just used your fix on a CL63 amg yesterday and it worked like a charm. The car was not shifting into reverse or park and was showing ABC error on the dash. I applied your fix, errors gone and the beast has certainly awoken.

Hey buddy thnx a lot for the video, by any chance do you know whats going no with my mercedes, I already took it to the shop the guys there scann all the transmission but nothing shown there, the shifter was opened a few months ago, now the shifter doesnt relize the shifts, is the problem with the shifter probably is not correct placed?
