I found one of these at a pawn shop, I was very pleasantly surprised at the zoom and the Zeiss lens. The sound could be better but you can boost the volume and EQ it
What are you using now? These little travel zooms are very versatile and I do like them, but note they wont produce as nice of an images as a DSLR or mirrorless sensor camera, and have lower end focusing technology. At least on paper anyway.
Yes your videos have a DSLR quality look. I notice that, not sure if others do. These compact zooms are nice to add in the camera fleet. If I didn’t have the HX50 I would have kept the HX80. I kind of want the HX99 now but it’s $600 cad. Way too much.
I was shocked to find the memory card slot adjacent to the tripod mount when this camera first came out. If I had really done my research beforehand, I would have never purchased.
can anyone please help me figure out how I can transfer the photos from my camera (hx80) to my iphone? I did the instructions in the manual and i watched some videos but nothing is working? please help
Try the Sony ImageEdge app. It's new and replaces the old PlayMemories App. You have to join the wifi network of your camera from the phone, the app should help you with this.

I've been shopping around for a small travel camera and came across a used Sony HX80 with mixed reviews but I think this sold me - thanks!
Even years later, I’d get it again. They also
Make an HX99 now with 4K but it seems very hard to find.
5:20 the difference between the HX80 and HX90V (other model HX90 = no GPS) is NOT only that the HX90V has a GPS but it also has a Control/Manual ring.
I have the HX9, HX20, wx 350 , HS90 lovem.
How do you add the muffs on top of the camera? Is it just a fuzzy thing glued on top?
Really cool cam. Awesome vid friend..
Im wondering about Real Estate Photography with this one for 150-200$ jobs
Was this filmed in Alaska? I was stationed in Kodiak for years
What settings should I put my camera on?
Does it have mic input ? Do you think would be good for 2021?
Sadly, no it does not have a mic input Lexis :-(
Please do I get my files out of this camera? To my phone or computer. The playmemories and imaging edge are not working well foe me.
Hey so I just got one, what microphone should I get for videos and such
Like the size of the camera and the quality of picture. My current camera is a bit big and I may look into something smaller this year. Great review.

@@netcruzer - I'm using a Nikon 5500 DSLR. It's a bit bulky for the style of video I do but I like the quality of the video.

is the go pro better than this ?
Hi. Do you think the video quality of this is better than the gopro7? I’m thinking of buying a gopro but the picture on gopro is not that good.
Technically the GoPro Hero 7 video quality (resolution and bitate) is higher, but you have no zoom ability at all. Totally different use case cameras.
great review
Great sony
I like sony
Yeah I switched mostly to Sony after 2014 as these do 1080p 60fps and canon didn’t at that time.
