My wife and I were about 98% in Tesla, 2% Apple. I converted the 2% to Tesla when it was at $120 last month. Wooo! Balls in and excited to to be on this journey

The problem with 5% on 20 companies is that the 20th pick isn't nearly as good as the first.
I am 35% Tesla but I am retired, with my wife, living off our portfolio. I could be super diversified earning 7-10% as I have been doing that for 35 years, however, Tesla is the most exciting company I have ever experienced, with the most inspirational leader. If I was 30 and single I would be all in and hopefully working there. It's tough when the price goes down, and I have done many walks along the beach, deep in thought, weighing up risk and reward. The bottom line I always end up concluding though, is this. It is all going to happen, it's biggest economic transition in world history and Tesla is in the best position to capitalise on it.
Re: TSLA = Diversity. Best led (Plenty of “key man” surrogates already in place & in control). Best product mixes. Best margins potentials. Best competitive advantages. Most disruptive (not just to be, but where/when/how best to be).
You put it very well and my situation is similar. I'm 100% in TSLA (only 25% of total assets), and yes the drops hurt, but I'm long so I consoled myself with the belief it will be much much more valuable in 3-5 years.

You made me realize the way to respond to people dumbfounded by an almost all in investment in TSLA… your portfolio isn’t diversified BUT Tesla IS! So you are diversifying your portfolio, Tesla is just doing all the leg work for you. 😊
Exactly my thoughts- investing in Tesla is like investing in multiple companies/ technologies.

That’s the biggest bs i have read in a while… how is Tesla diversified? Every other car manufacturer is more diversified. Take Vw….still it’s not a good idea to go all in Tesla nor Vw

I’m 100% as well for about 1.5 years and invested almost 2 years ago. Others around me think I’m crazy and I don’t care. They don’t dive in the company information like I do.
Ditto, sort of. I'm 68, retired and living totally on Social Security. Last year, when Tesla announced they would split the stock in late summer, I bought 9 shares of stock. It split 3 for 1 (it split in Aug.) and I've added 5 more shares since then, bringing my total to 32 shares.
Consensus out there is that there should be another split in 2-4 yrs. My plan is to sell a few shares every now and then to supplement my SSA check, as needed. But the way things look in the future for TSLA, there'll be more splits in the not too distant future, so my son and his family are going to benefit greatly, as it all goes to him when I finally kick off.

After renting a M3 and driving it 600 miles thru the worst conditions in AZ, I can tell you, I can't wait to rent another Tesla again as soon as possible. It was a dream.
Bill Gates was all in on Microsoft Elon’s all in on Tesla, Jeff Bezos all in on Amazon diversifying is for people that don’t know what they’re doing in my opinion.
I’m 90% invested in Tesla also and this company is diversified. It is one of the easiest

I live here in California, and all you hear about is Tesla, not one other EV maker is even mentioned. If people can’t see the potential of what’s going on here, that’s their loss, not mine.

I used to work for Tesla and I am 90% invested. I’m 50 years old and semi retired and this last downturn really hurt! Had to move into my mother-in-law’s basement with my wife and two dogs. It’s a really great basement! LOL! But we are healthy and debt-free and I’m working when I have to just to pay the little bills that we have. I feel lucky. I know great things are gonna happen. I still have over $100,000 in Tesla stock. So I expect it to be at least 1 million in the next 5 to 10 years. We’ll see.
Warren Buffet and Peter Lynch have both said that the only reason to diversify is if you don't know and trust the company you are investing in. Personally I have that in spades with Tesla. Why would I want to dilute my growth options by "diversifying? I'm too lazy to study any other company and from what I know about Tesla, it will compound grow my investment like nothing else out there...long term! Traders can try and play day to day stuff, I'm an investor...in Tesla...in TSLA.
It is a good feeling when you see a car out on the road and you get a big GRIN on your face knowing they bought it from your company.

You could make the argument that investing in TSLA is by itself somewhat a diversified investment because you are getting a car company, energy production and storage companies, robot company, etc.
I'm 67 and retired. My stock portfolio is 70% TSLA. 30% is what's needed for sustained living expenses without dipping into my principal. If I were younger, I'd be all in on TSLA.
Absolutely correct. $20 billion in the bank shows the profit capacity. They have many companies within the company. Seats, other car parts, batter etc. eco friendly philosophy of the company. Plus same leader of SpaceX. Would be diversified more if SpaceX was publicly traded. .

In a large company, fundamentals actually can be thought of as making up the 'Diversity', as there are many (diverse) reasons one would invest in TSLA, and actually, it's like investing in each fundamental strength. So it comes down to whether one truly knows and believes in the fundamentals without second guessing themselves. Shout out to Warren and SMR.

I'm 100% TSLA. Didn't sell a share as it dropped 70% because, as they say in Shanghai, there was no ting wong with the company. The drop was perception, not reality. Tesla was just becoming stronger every day. Elon has created a culture of world-beating innovation with the best engineers in the world to make it work.
Good video, Warren. I think Tesla is kind of where Amazon, Alphabet, and Apple were 10-15 years ago. I have most of my $ in TSLA but about a third in SCHD, just as a fail safe.
I'm 100% in on Tesla. The only thing I have ever invested in. I have told everyone I know to buy Tesla since 2015 when I went in a model S. Yes go all in.
That's exactly what happened to me. Except in a 2018 Model 3. I knew within an 1/8 of a mile of driving that Tesla had changed the game. It was obvious.
I bought in 2015 as well. Never own a Tesla, but purchased when my daughter was born in hopes she could one day afford to buy one. 🙂
Tesla is like an ETF. Autos, Energy, Autonoumy, robotics. Examined carefully by a large number of great online analysts.

I’m in agreement with you. TSLA is a once in a lifetime company. Sure, the risk is high to go all in, but that’s where understanding the Tesla business is crucial in gaining the conviction to stay with Tesla. This level of conviction is what will be rewarded later. It’s no different than owning BRK-A. It’ll all work out.
A diversified portfolio limits risk of stock specific downside. It does not limit macro downside, but might reduce sector downside. It also limits upside for all the same reasons.

I think you're doing the right thing Warren I'm all in also, 99% + not counting real estate and we are super diversified withTesla being that Tesla is about 12 start ups within Tesla, as Elon said.

Warren .. .can you do a video on the negatives on lidar.....a. Geo fencing.....b. the cost ( cost is too high to scale to millions of robotaxis)......no one is talking about the details of lidar.....??? And it is really important.....and lidar is the main competition to Tesla's fsd......

Really depends on your timehorizon - there are so many people and companies that dont want Tesla to succeed - the macro and so on - if your all in you got to have nerves of steel as FUD and bad people create stories all the time that isnt true - so you have to look 5-10 years ahead then the numbers will kill the FUD
I didn't get Tesla until I understood that it is not just a car company, it is a tech company. I missed it in the beginning, but now I'm with you, Cathie Wood, and all the Tesla bulls.
I`m 99%. The only time i will take profits is to put $100,000 into the Starlink IPO or Redwood Technologies when that happens.
I'm going to mortgage my home for those 2 companies... Already told the wife and she said go for it...

Diversification is saying you cannot pick the right stocks/company. I am in 95% and I am 64. I have been in Tesla 4 + years now.
I got proctor and Gamble, Johnson and Johnson, coca cola, realty income, and Tesla.
50% TSLA, 35% PLTR. I like my chances come 2030.

My only other investment besides Tesla is Ron Baron’s Partners fund which has a very large holding in SpaceX, and an even larger exposure in Tesla.
The fund's SpaceX holding is not that large unfortunately. It's 31% TSLA and 9% SpaceX

When Tsla dropped to around $100 in December I sold everything else to buy Tesla because nothing else had the huge upside or even close

I am most concerned about US government interference. I have seen the US Govt via Courts destroy both AT&T and Hughes Aircraft Company. Two of the most innovative (in their time) companies in the country destroyed by jealous people in government.

3:38 weird hearing you compare Fremont and Shanghai productivity.
Fremont isn't built efficiently. Materials have to do a lot of mileage in that factory before a product is assembled. This was Tesla's first factory that they didn't even build themselves fir their purposes.
Shanghai was built from the ground up by Tesla and for Tesla, and Elon optimizes every cubic meter of space in that factory.
How is Fremont *E V E R* going to approach Shanghai when it comes to productivity?
I don't see it approaching Shanghai on productivity. But they can get closer.

The most satisfying thing is that no one seems to put up a major area that Tesla isn't performing well in. The company is young and dynamic, they have great products and even greater products in the pipeline.and .........they have an exceptional CEO. The shares took a sharp dip but only a fool would assume it won't climb steeply in a relatively short time. Watch legacy crumble over the next few years. Watch Tesla fill the void. Hoping for a polished Shareholder meeting and possibly announcements of a new model and Giga Factory.

Being all-in one company is exactly what small business owners do. Success demands total commitment to the business and a firm belief that all the unknown risks will be overcome. One must decide if the rewards outweigh the risks, the least of which is to accept that money one accumulates in life has limited value unless employed as Elon Musk has done by example with Tesla, SpaceX and now the riskiest, Twitter. He appeals to those who believe hard work, dedication, determination and total commitment will be handsomely rewarded by successes that will improve our world. Those who sign on to the visions of Elon must accept the turbulence.
I’m pretty much all in. Some AAPL left. It’s risk reward and conviction. It’s a rare opportunity. Over the past 5 years, it’s been great. Long term the rewards could be tremendous. Concentration creates wealth (diversification preserves)

Diversifying your portfolio it's for people that already have money so they can preserve it. Investing in growth stocks like Tesla are for people that want to make money

Thanks. I have been getting more positive feedback, probably due to going to the gym 5-6 days a week, and dancing 2-3 days a week. And maybe I'm just happier because I've found a good friend group.

I'm so im like 99.5% In TSLA. Got a few shares of some other rando stocks probably less than 1k.
I bought and held Amazon. It didn't grow until AFTER I sold it.
I wasn't going to make the same mistake with Tesla. It's already paid me back.
The notion Tesla is diversified is a good one. That's how I feel about it. Tesla is a distributed AND diversified company.
I worry more about China/US belligerence, leading to China taking a dramatic move -- like nationalizing the factory, or closing it outright.

I don't see that happening, but I could be wrong.
Rivian unlocked bidirectional charging so it just made me think tesla might do the same on investor day since their teaser said path to a fully sustainable energy future.. California grid is garbage.. how many teslas are in California and how many gigawatts would that be🤔
Maybe instead of diversifying into other stock, you could take 10% of your portfolio currently in TSLA and keep it in cash to use when buying the dip. Then when TSLA recovers, convert 10% back into cash again and rinse and repeat.
I don't play timing games.
There are many scenarios, war, key-man risk, asteroid hitting the earth, health issues, job loss, etc.

I have 600 shares of Tesla at the age of 35. Not sure how much more to invest in Tesla. But also unsure what to buy instead. My pension is in an index fund so that's my diversification.
34 here and currently feel my goal of 1000 just some how feels right - hit 843 today so almost there .. 16 other positions but this one will be pushing 50% of portfolio so not all in but definitely not 5%

Everyone is different. Depends on your financial situation and income. If you’re saddled in credit card debt or making $15/hour. Does it make sense to invest all of your rainy day fund in it? No.

If WW3 breaks out, my investments are the least of my concerns.
90% Tesla here. Plan on DCA'ing regardless of price until 2035 then retire. I'm confident Tesla will easily fuel my retirement goal. If it flops and loses everything...then shoot I can say I went for it :'D. But realistically I see tesla being worth at least $100 more per share in 2035 than it is today so at the VERY LEAST it's a "Safe" place to store my money, lol. I am optimistic for sure.

Like the honesty 😂 2020 I listened to traders, sold and bought 5USD off the bottom, sadly had to hold on to some cash as was between jobs. Since then just adding and riding the ups and downs... best wishes
