It’s implied that Rictus isn’t new to abusing his dad’s “brides.” If she disappeared after Scrotus caught him staring at her during the strikeout birth and sneaking around in the middle of the night, they all probably assume he “disposed of her.” By the time she reappears years later as Jack’s independent contractor she’s a completely different creature.
Also in the Fury Road prequel comic, Furiosa gets the job guarding the brides specifically from Rictus’ abuse attempts.

    • @williamwong1982
      @williamwong1982 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

It’s also the reason why the wives ended up wearing chastity belts in Fury Road because Joe probably found out about Rictus’ deeds later on.

The MadMax game that came out around the time of FuryRoad is an extension of these stories, and actually happens between Furiosa and Fury Road, and extends on the lore of this part of the wasteland, including how “maggot harvesting” works… it’s a criminally underrated game, I highly recommend it! It recreates the brutality and vastness of the wasteland that feels just like these two last movies!

You could be right. He redirects Rictus' attention away from Furiosa several times. Maybe Scrotus even saw her escaping from Rictus during the night.
Rictus is also eventually the reason why Furiosa is appointed by Immortan Joe to protect the wives. In the graphic novel, Immortan Joe appoints Furiosa to the task after Rictus tries to assault one of the wives. (And threatens to do it again.)

I saw this in theaters and was _completely_ blown away. Like with Dune, it was as much an experience as it was a film. Personally I feel like Miller intended for this and Fury Road to be taken as one cohesive unit as opposed to Furiosa being a prequel for a prequel's sake - so much of this story adds context to FR and fleshes out what was already there. Neither movie can exist without the other. They're different chapters of the same epic, just told out of order

I was blown away when watching this in the theater, definitely an experience I’ll remember for all time. This is imo Hemsworth’s best performance. He’s obviously having the time of his life but Dementus himself is a very calculating individual but has this charisma that definitely makes you think he’s an idiot, while also being a very weak man. Anya really won me over as well and I honestly like her more than Charlize’s version in fury road. Anya just brings this viceral energy that is just more intense than Theron’s version. This is also probably the best revenge story I’ve seen in a long time, the way they handle the cycle of violence and how vengeance blackens the soul is absolutely perfect. Also, hats off to miller to being in his 80’s and still creating these films with the same level of vigor as a young director. One of the best films of the year hands down.

I thought it was really interesting that Chris Hemsworth said he loved the script but he had no idea who his character was until just before they began shooting. He was terrified he was going to ruin the film.
Also, great movie. I hold Charlize Theron's portrayal of Furiosa in extremely high regard and was somewhat concerned with how they were going to pull this off in a way that didn't detract from the original. Turns out, it only bolsters her legend, and all the actresses who played her were tremendous.
Losing her mom, her only friend and her star map to same scumbag is some heinously bad luck.

Some disagreements between MM fans whether Max's cameo scene rescues Furiosa and brought her closer to the Citadel. I say yes , due to the fact Furiosa fainted in the middle of nowhere and Max is also a scavenger of the Wasteland himself in this mad for survival world. .....
Fantastic allegories these Mad Max films with tbe Joseph Campbell influence and now the Greek mythology in Furiosa. . .
Furiousa: A Mad Max Saga is fantastic build up to Fury Road....
Max's prequel titled " The Wasteland" the Hope and Glory story begins a year before the events of Fury Road.
Furiosa reminded me a lot of the original MM 1, with the double vendetta victims and the personal chase scenes in the finally and with more plot expansion. Lots of tension in Furiosa 👍😎🎬

There is a theory, that Furiosa escaped because the guy (I think it is Mr. Davidson) who should've strung her up helped her. He was clearly not happy about Dementus at that point. When Furiosa stole the Cranky Black from Scrotus, he was sitting there, holding Mr. Harleys body. So he was not killed by the warboys, giving more credibility, to that theory.

Miller talked about how a movie like Fury Road will never happen again because it was soooooo perilous to film with practical effects. It's a miracle nobody died. Furiosa was a compromise and it turned out relatively well outside of a few scenes having dodgy greenscreen.

"I wanna know what earned such devotion?" Several factors:
    1. Before the fall of civilization, Immortan Joe was a decorated war veteran of the Oil and Water Wars named Colonel Joseph Moore.
    2. The discovery of the aquifer.
    3. The founding of the Bullet Farm, Gastown and the Cult of the V8.
    4. Despite his madness, God complex, perversion and cruelty(Which all leaders of the Wasteland biker gangs shared), he was far more sober-minded than the others like Rictus, Dementus and Scrotus, two of whom were his sons and the other was his rival for control of The Citadel and being Furiosa`s archnemesis who never stood a chance. He also kept the Wretched(The poor, sick and elderly of The Wasteland) in check by rationing water which earned him favor with other biker gang leaders throughout the Wasteland outside his cult.

Furiosa is a masterpiece. I actually like it better than Fury Road. The revenge aspect of it gives it a slight edge over Fury Road. Hemsworth has never been better. He brought his A game for his fellow Aussie: Dr. George Miller. I pray to the Cinema Gods that we get another MM flick, but that might not happen due to the massive bomb that it was. Regarding the sound, maybe it is because of the quality or compression of the digital copy, it is said that the sound of this copy is Dolby Atmos and compressed, but well, I do not think the Atmos is the great wonder of sound, for me better is the DTS-HD 7.1 sound or DolbyTrue HD 71. that this copy did not have, it had the Atmos compressed sound, it is not the master audio, we should wait for the Blu Ray and there if we will have the original master audio without compression and surely the sound mix will be heard excellent.

I agree in reference to the CGI, not that it was bad, but it wasn't perfect, I've seen movies with worse CGI anyway, and in this one it was pretty good, but not perfect, you can see that there are elements that don't look real because of an unnatural movement, very computer-like where it moves very fast and because of the lighting that doesn't fit much with the background, which makes the general composition of elements of the action scenes look a little weird. The current CGI needs to evolve as a technology to deceive us and make us believe that we are watching a real scene. That's why it's always better a combination of practical effects, miniatures and mixed with CGI, as it was done in the 90s with movies like Terminator 2, Jurassic Parka, Independence Day or Dante's Peak where the scenes looked real.

I've watched it with someone who didn't see Fury Road and they didn't felt any lengths.
iirc there's thebackstory of Immortan Joe told in Comics released around Fury Road release.
About sound, ti might come from your setup. I still remember the loud explosion of the gas tank behind Furiosa mother in theater. Same for the spears during the stowaway.
But I like how the drums gets over the sound as it shows how Furiosa feels, she got hyper focused or hyper angry. I prefer to be in her head instead of being in the action around as the movie is about her and her story this time.

IMO, I feel ATJ was wasted in this. Furiosa really didn't get fleshed out more or we don't see how she manages to escape Joe's gaze as a wife. I mean, if he sees a semi viiable female he'll at least want to look. I wanted to see more of what she had to do in the Citidel and how maybe she's lost faith and maybe trauma overtakes her for a bit, but she pulls out of it. More time spent with her and the other Preator dude would have been great. Nux and the red head in Fury Road had more of a connection that we saw than these two. I think the younger girls did an incredible job as Furiosa and Hemsworth was excellent as Dementus.
