So very true what you said about bands trying to emulate korns sound yet failing to, I remember in 1998 there was at least 200 copy cats , not one band could emulate korns sound, not one vocalist sounds like Johnathan Davis and feildys bass.

Head quit the band in 2005, before they released "See You on the Other Side". The last Korn album with his participation was "Take a Look in the Mirror" (2003). He returned to the band in 2013, for "The Paradigm Shift" album. This period is known as the Head-less Era of Korn.

Right, but due to his meth addiction Munky wrote and recorded a majority of the guitar work for Take A Look In The Mirror. Head was AWOL during most of the writing and recording for that album and he also said he didn't like Untouchables much after they initially released it.

JD often cited it as their best work as a band and you’re spot on. Korn was doing 80’s Nu-wave revival before it became trendy. There are subtle nods to Depeche Mode, The Cure, Tears for Fears, even Madonna. It was Korn trying new things and taking risks even though it pissed off a percentage of their fans who begged them to be “raw and heavy” again at the time.

    12. See You On The Other Side
    11. Untitled
    10. The Paradigm Shift

The first time I heard Korn...every night, for months on end. They were something very different and everyone loved them. I remember in the late 90s when I was in Junior High, living in Chicagoland, THE rock radio station of the day was Q101 out of Chicago. They had a head to head contest every night where called the Cage Match where everyone would call in and vote for one the two songs they played. Korn's ADIDAS won it straight for something like three months straight. Nu-metal was born.

So many good punk shows there, but it was the first time Korn played Jacksonville. The following year, they played at Shades, which was a bigger club in Orange Park Florida, which is basically in the boarder of Jacksonville. They had the weirdest opening band for them, which was The Urge. After that I saw them in Lakeland FL and it was a coliseum show. Then was the first Family Values tour. Worked like a slave for minimum wage at WcDonalds for months with one on layaway only to plug it into a terrible Crate solid state amp and decide to obsess over learning slayer songs instead, and eventually got mid enough to have real strugglebus Kittie cover band. That crashed and burned hard. Eventually sold that guitar so I could buy christmas trash for an emo girl, years later, and that was the death of the true fcks I gave about playing guitar, despite having bought and sold a bunch of them since. And now I'm monologuing into F McK's youtube comments.

KoRn love to throw curveballs and piss off their hardcore fans, so they sort of trolled them by promoting Brian returning to the band and releasing a song like Never, Never which sounded like a very hollow song, it sounds more like a Jonathan Davis solo song and there is no signature KoRn guitar sound on that song. KoRn fans love their down tuned 7 string guitar style and that's what they wanted to hear because Brian was back in the band! Even Brian said he was upset about it and he's the guy who is supposed to be promoting the song and making money! I understand creatively why they wanted to pull back though on The Paradigm Shift and not just jump back into that heavy KoRn style. KoRn have a way of making their fans happy but they are GREAT at keeping them interested in the band and keep them waiting for more.

So i wouldnt say that this group or that group really influenced each other since they are so removed from one another and also granted that they started in late 80's early 90's, when it was more difficult to find indy metal bands from the other side of the globe
