I think you're triggering ghost heat when you fire while an active stream is going, So if you fire your left side, Then click right immediately, It counts as firing them both at the same time because it's a stream missile. I learned that on my Revenant which has 6 LRM 15s
I started playing MWO again this week, after last playing it in 2012. I'm having a blast and your videos have been a lot to do with that. So thank you 😁
@@Phoney72 I just got the Jenners last night and had a quick look. Neither looks especially fun but I already have ~80 mechs so that’s probably why. The IS Jenner is like a worse version of one of my Locusts except for the jump jets.
Baradul, I was able to make a Longbow build using the Spitfire variant with 12 LRM 6s and 2 LRM 10s that don't trigger ghost heat because of the traits of the mech. This allows you to fire 80 LRMs in one huge group and has been really fun! I think you should try it and make a video on it!
00:43 Baradul, try firing w/o missile lock. It's great for putting Snipers on shirts especially with ATM missiles. I run a variant of this with 4 ATM9's or 4 LRM20's and 2 ER Med lasers. Firing w/o lock is obviously less accurate but they don't get an incoming warning and I've put mechs in chalk outlines using this strategy
the guy in the stealth hammer was probably confused by how you were hitting him, if you listen real carefully you can here him saying "how is that guy locking me!"
I regularly run a pretty similar build but with 80 LRM and a bit more ammo. And yeah, this no-brainer rocks in normal games. By running these is easy to understand why so much people hate LRMboats (:
Honestly, I think he should group the weapons as left / right chain fire, this is what I do with my Nova Cat B, fire left arm, then when left finishes firing you fire right arm, basically making it a constant stream of missiles but you will be able to fire for longer than 20 seconds, and having the er m lasers on thumb buttons
I run pretty much this is exact setup on mine. I set them up on two groups and chain fire constantly. You can still put out a lot of missiles doing this without the heat ramping up very fast. Had well over a dozen games with 1500 plus damage.
I was gonna say something about giving up half a ton of ammo for a light probe, but you really did get down to the wire with that ammo each match. Fair enough, then.
So, I have seen a lot of LRM players who run similar builds, however, my Atlas has ECM, my other mechs are a minimum of 60 kph or have AMS. Frankly, keep your cool, hug cover, and use play to the objective, and focus your team on the objective, and then focus-fire on these guys and you are fine. Radar deprivation works too. My main trouble are the direct-fire crazy accurate guys who shoot off an arm from halfway across the main in one alpha strike.
I would say replace a 15 with a narc it'll free up some tonnage for other stuff and let you get your own steady locks Oh and another gun missile-er is the incubus Saber with 3 atm3s and a light tag
I play an LRM90 Nova Cat that's able to fire 3 out of its 6 LRM-15s at once (w/o heat spiking). It also has a couple ER Med lasers for close-in self defense. The downside over your Sun Spider is that it's not nearly as fast. I love it on the right map...seems like half the time I pick it I get Solaris...lol.
that is when you get something like a huntsman with tag and Narc with many Jumpjets. You can over heat 2 AMS kitfox builds (2 laser and one ammo AMS) with ECM. Aniolatoryou s die in seconds when run 3 of them or 4 lrm 15 2 streak 6's
I put them 3 on left, 3 on right, then chain fire them. Often waiting half a second to activate one just to get a perma stream going. Does chainfire fire slower then necessary for ghost heat which is why bara used 3 buttons or no?
I have a question about this, as a new player: How are you doing meaningful damage with LRMs this close up? Even clan LRMs? When I tried this with twin clan LRM-20s, once they were within 270 meters it felt like I was doing just short of nothing to them.
This build immediately suffers even more thanks to the LRM changes, as non-Artemis LRMs now get a velocity nerf and LRMs in general clear terrain more poorly. LRMs really, really REALLY need to have their odds optimized to some extent to work- or you get things like that first game, with 1000 damage and zero kills. 60 Artemis guided missiles tend to put more damage where it counts than 90 non Artemis missiles, for less heat, lower ammo consumption, less tonnage overall. Not that lobbing 90 missiles doesn't look good, but PGI has really made LRMs low-quality damage, and it needs as much quality improvement as you can strap onto your launchers to get it to even close to decent. Even here, you can see how many missiles just plain get wasted and how many more it takes to even modestly damage anything important.
Ngl, I feel like for clan mechs the ATMs are more viable than the LRMs. Same hp as the lrm volley but grouped up into a smaller missile bunch (lrm5 = atm3, lrm15=atm9 etc) if my math was right, but the payoff for mid and short range is much better. The only tradeoff is the lack of arcing fire, but 2-3x the damage? I'm good with that.
That's always pretty much been the idea, but the other tradeoff is with less missiles they are more susceptible to AMS because they still want to fire from range but each missile destroyed makes you lose a larger amount of your damage dealt.
I love my Mad Dawg that uses MRM- or what they're called. I honestly love those missiles the most. If I made this Sunspider, I'd replace all LRM's with MRM's and just go absolutely bonkers.
You cant hide. Even if you shut down on the edge of the map there noone would go. There is always one guy finding you pretty fast. Because esp hack.(wall hack). I am not talking about shutting down in the middle of a flat field in the middle of a game. I am talking about me as the last guy trying to hide near the border of a map. Nothing obvious. I tried it 4 times befor giving up.
Now, see? I'd have done 4 C-LRM 10's & 2 C-SLRM 15's. Yes, it means having to get two different kinds of ammo, but the SLRM's can be used as close-range defense while still having the range of an LRM. It's just that the SLRM's fire straight instead of up & over stuff, so you can't use them for indirect fire. But, the weight you save could be used for either more ammo or more heatsinks.
Love the channel , always watch every MWO vlog, hate the fact you have promoted this game destroying game play, it is literally destroying the game , has been for years and i have played since launch, please don't say everyone should be able to play the way they like, because LRM spam removes the option for that for sooooo many other players to have any kind of enjoyable game play, gutless 1 button zero skill spam bots hiding at the back ruining the game for almost everyone else, patting themselves on the back each kill, when they never aimed a single shot or actually see the player they are killing
Baradul, you should have called this build "Rain-Spider"...😊
Fight-In-The-Shade-Spider
storm-spider
The itsy bitsy Sun Spider went up the water spout. Down came the LRM rain and washed the enemies out. LOL

@@Palocles yes indeed, thank you. I got my Jenner's which are good fun😊

I've said this before but it's nice to hear "Hello Mech-Warriors" everyday.

I used to play this mech a lot with only 4 x LRM15s with Artemis, more ammo and an ECM. Better clustering, fewer heat issues and the ECM helps alot
I'll have to try that, I run mine with 5 x LRM 15's with standard targeting, ECM+ bit more ammo and HS.
00:43 Baradul, try firing w/o missile lock. It's great for putting Snipers on shirts especially with ATM missiles. I run a variant of this with 4 ATM9's or 4 LRM20's and 2 ER Med lasers.

That last kill with dumbfire was on Uncle George, who took his nephew's mech for a spin after dinner 😅
It's really good to have some pure LRM matches documented before the upcoming changes to LRMs
Our missles will blot out the Sun... spider. Thanks for the video.
Then we will fight in the shade!!!!
the guy in the stealth hammer was probably confused by how you were hitting him, if you listen real carefully you can here him saying "how is that guy locking me!"
I run a mixed missile version. ATM and LRM. Love my Sunspider.

I remember when you taught me how to make the LRM95 TAG BAS Prime. It’s not a boat it’s a goddamn yacht

In game 1 you got matched with a player in your lance named "about_100_lurms" and I had a good chuckle
I used to play a LRM5x6 catapult with a buddy with a matching mech and we would routinely smoke teams, real glass cannon of course.
I have been running a similar sun spider for years with the difference that I replace 1 or 2 tons of ammo with heat sinks
I would say replace a 15 with a narc it'll free up some tonnage for other stuff and let you get your own steady locks
Oh and another gun missile-er is the incubus Saber with 3 atm3s and a light tag
Good video Bara, but I think you're highlighting why people hate LRM boats so much. 😄

Long time, no see, Bara! Nice to see you back in action.
I know you know this: half-second delay between button clicks to avoid ghost heat! You were spiking to 50% from a single volley a few times there
I have something similar to this build. I just chainfire to help mitigate heat. I call it the Rainmaker.
Not one, but two "Dominominominations"! :)
It's funny, the other day I was thinking I hadn't heard you say that in a while.
I feel like one less LRM rack for some cooling/etc. would help.
Don't worry, Baradul. Like they say, "Nobody's Ferpect"
you should really have the decency to properly cite Bonody when using their quotes ^,^

That is my play style. I don't care about k/d but I love just being support. Uav and missiles
oh haha, this is pretty much one of my main mechs, just very barely different, been running it for ages (i do play very on and off tho XP)
Should do an ATM Sun Spider next. I called mine the "armor-b-gone"
Hey Bara, have you done a video on what new stuff PGI is releasing over the next few months? I'm super excited to get a revamped game!
I like to swap the torso for the 4 ballistic slots, to add some MGs
I put them 3 on left, 3 on right, then chain fire them. Often waiting half a second to activate one just to get a perma stream going. Does chainfire fire slower then necessary for ghost heat which is why bara used 3 buttons or no?
Sunspider? I would call it the Sunshader with that amount of missiles!
Sunstrider with ATMs active probe and tag plus 2 jj for peeking. Run ER and HE
You know what they say about people with target decay nodes. They got really long locks.
I have a question about this, as a new player: How are you doing meaningful damage with LRMs this close up? Even clan LRMs? When I tried this with twin clan LRM-20s, once they were within 270 meters it felt like I was doing just short of nothing to them.
This is basically three stock Catapults shoved into a single body.

I did something similar with my gargoyle but instead of LRMs he had all ATMs.
15:32. For the win.
LOL 15:31-15:35. I thought we only got 7 decal slot, lol.
If you cant Beat em , Bomb em. - TFS Son-Goku
Bargain Bin Yorinaga there at the end.
I despise everything about that build.
Still great video, as usual.
A direwolf can carry 105lrms, alpha strike strike without shutting down and carry a ridiculous amount of ammo and tag
So you made them fight in the shade
11 out of 10

Well, you can't. Sunspider is a Clan mech. Clans don't have MRMs, they have ATMs instead.

german mechwarrior getting killed by ''Oettinger Rakete'' (for non germans: Oettinger is a brand of german beer) genau mein Humor xDD

Baraboat
the game is free dont buy anything they only nerf the mechs after you buy them the buffs are to get you to buy then they screw with the mechs after
Novacat.
Come on man ... a bit of effort goes a long way ... where is the build link ????
I can't put it in the youtube description. The special characters are forbidden here.
