- This is the DTFS LED Kit by eXtremeRate, it's a kit that adds RGB functionality to your PS4 Dualshock 4 controller and it looks incredible. I am really happy with how it turned out and how to install PS4 controller LED kit! This DS4 RGB mod kit is very straight forward to install but I wouldn't call it easy. In this video I go over the features and review what I think about the kit! Special thanks to extremerate for sending me out this kit! I'm just mind-boggled by how the controller just fits so snuggly with each little peice, so carefully thought out. And now this mod to include RGB! It's just crazy how much patience it must take to get all the demensions right so it fits right on the 1st try.
I don't have a console and I'm causal gamer who plays sims and stardew valley. And i watched full video ! Because you have nice voice and lack of music makes this very nice.

Thank you for this im making a Black Panther themed controller and definitely needed something like this to make it futuristic.

The design of buttons is made that way because original shapes of square etc… on a controller have some kind of trademark. It’s how most unofficial controllers get away without legal issues. This is the same case

I agree would be cool if you could just keep the normal button style including the ps button but add the color I’m sure they make button lots tho and you can probably put any combination of things together I am glad to see this isn’t as hard as I thought it might be I came here from somewhere else looking into charging a charging port because my kids always break them on all our controllers lol and by throw them out or pay someone I do enough mechanical stuff I can surely work on electronics like this still when I was younger I always did anyways thanks for your video very good content start to finish I will probably just start trying to find broken or cheap knock offs and just build some of my own controllers from now on from scratch that will most likely have some better components and be a lot cheaper
I have a theory that the normal button style could cause lawsuits. ALL generic controllers use some kind of different button style, I believe they don't use the normal one because Sony could sue them for "copying". I mean, at least the generic ones, maybe brand controllers have the license to do it or something

The action button design is actually a generic button symbol design I think. I've seen the design on 3rd party controllers and they use them to avoid copyright from playstation.

@@DammitJeff I dont think the individual shapes are the main thing copyrighted but instead the action pad layout. They wanted their controllers to stand out from the usual letter buttons and have other companies avoid stealing their design.
I meN when you think of all 4 shapes in a grouped order you usually think about playstation and that was the underlying goal. Tbh I get confused between xbox and seifch controler layout slightly and only two letters are switched so yeah 😅
And atleast there was a sorta inspiration by third parties where they used 3D shapes as their generic button design aswell. It looks pretty cool tbh.
