I bought a Mini Claymore the day they were released, and thought it was the newest cool knife to add to the collection.
Since handling it a lot I’m having some regrets. Great little knife but I can’t really get comfortable with the ergos. The ergos
are better if you hold it with your thumb over the blade, but if you move back to use the thumb ramp your pinky is left dangling off the the end of the scales. Plus the grivery scales and CPM D2 (although much better than standard D2) for the price? I don’t know if it was really the hot item that I thought it was. Live and learn as they say!

I sort of agree with you.

Seems like a decent little knife. Great video 👍

That safety switch is there because somebody somewhere probably deployed their knife in the pocket and gave themself an unintended vasectomy. That person now owns 33% of Benchmade (hypothetical folks!)

I'm not a big auto fan either..so apparently our taste in knives is similar in that way

See it more as a safety feature to absolutely prevent from opening during mishaps or accidents: car crash, motorcycle fall, winter skying tumbling, crashing hard during parachuting. Agree with you it would not open from normal use.

You might have a good point there.

I'm a lefty so I'd probably use the safety since the firing button will be facing outward where it could be pressed..I have an original auto Presidio and never use the safety since the Axis is next to impossible to deploy...

And you can find a Protech TR3 at Knifeworks and others for $175. Talk about awkward to close one handed, the TR3 powerful spring requires care and a bit of dexterous strength.
Benchmade ...... well at least made in USA.

I agree with you that safety's on auto are such a useless thing. They actually could get in your way because they can at times engage by accident. Then if you need the blade quickly, the damm safety would be on..

I love the name claymore, not 100% on the safety. I'm guessing if someone that doesn't know about knives, this will keep them from hurting themselves. idk

Never liked this model. Agreed on the safety, not really needed.👍

I dont like the looks of the handles. Looks like cheap plastic. I also agree that there is not a need for a safety. I have had many switchblades without them and never had one fire off.
