Kailasha Blades Kukri Knife Review | Fort William MK1
If you want a good sense of how a blade designed around piercing attacks performs. Here's what you need to take into account. Regardless of blade shape, ANY unsharpened material above the blade's center line only slows the knife down. There's a reason why dagger shaped blades are double edged. That reason is why double edged daggers typically run into legal issues. Because they're effective. While it looks menacing. This blade isn't as effective at piercing as your typical bowie or tanto style blades. A Buck 110 or Cold Steel recon 1 tanto or clip point blade will vastly outperform this thing in piercing tasks. If you don't want to take my word for it watch the JoeX video on the Extrema ratio Requiem which is the exact same blade shape as the 391 SOCP. Also watch the James Williams video on the Hissatsu folder to illustrate what I just said with regards to unsharpened material above the centerline. Long story short, owning the 391 SOCP for aesthetic reasons is a perfectly valid reason. Owning the knife for self defense purposes is a mistake.
Pretty cool! Great video 👍
I am a 3rd generation Eagle Scout. Very interested in this knife. My current edc knife is the Adira mini. Very pleased with it. I am also considering the intersect.
I think the price is not that bad. TI and magnacut. Bestech is a good OEM. Just got the Bestech Blindfury very well made.
Unnamed-I like the micromilling…it looked like it was smooth until you zoomed in…looks like a kunwu padre
Unnamed-I like the micromilling…it looked like it was smooth until you zoomed in…looks like a kunwu padre
I daily carry original sog trident folder and I actually like the deep clip and the assisted opening. Safety is meh, never used it, might as well glue it in place.
All microtech pocket clips are super tight
It’s definitely not something we haven’t seen before, but still pretty neat. I think whoever picks this up, will not be disappointed. EDIT: I forgot the secret word: unnamed
Unnamed - I like the design, and like the micro milling. Gives me some kunwu padre, and CKF rotten vibes with the blade profile. Good to see a new (new, right..?) company coming out. Really good looking design though. Now I have to check him out.
it's a hard pass for me...
@@paullmight42 why??
I like the profile of it, it's different, don't really care for magnacut, it could be s35vn and it'll fine. Price wise, it's a bit much for an unknown company. Great vid as always. I'm also not a fan of button locks.
Nailed it, for me. This is exactly how I feel.
this is a very handsome knife- I like it
Un named
I like a good old fashioned liner lock or frame lock
I have the same but with an single edge blade and the newer glaasbreaker 2024, awesome
Stellar! 🤩
You are a lot goofy
@@Rationalstart I’ll take that lol.
This was the exact knife that Denzel carried in Training Day… You can see it in the scene where Hoyt (Ethan Hawke) saved the Mexican girl from being assaulted by the two homeless crack junkies…. Alonso ( Denzel) pointed it in one of the junkies eye and brushed face with it. Trivia
@@gswguy4554 I think you’re right. Good eye.
I got an Executive Scarab many years ago and i didn't think it would be a practical edc at first but once you get used to pulling your knife out doing the job and putting it away all w one hand and at lightening speed you start to really appreciate it. Especially because you can get the blade out of the way so fast and free up the hand. Now i love to edc an otf. I don't care who you are or how handy you are with a locking mechanism you can't beat the speed at which you can clear a blade from your working environment with an otf. Also the form factor is easy to manipulate other things with the handle still in hand.
Not really my thing but nice video
@@MY-T-SHARP666 appreciate you watching.
Question, would you be open to doing a walkthrough of your collection? Or maybe do your knives in small groups of like 3 and just discuss what you like about them and what makes them collection pieces for you? I appreciate it thank you!
@@derekwedge09 I have done a SOTC a few times but that’s a great idea. Getting towards the end of the year so probably a good time to do another.
I love the way that torch is decorated! Love those colors…
"Dang Nabbit" LOL!
That flashlight is hella cool!!!
Woohooo my Nightmare Before Christmas torch ! Love it LOL, ha ha you love packing peanuts !
@@masi_man_tony9503 haha
Rosie!! I appreciate the video. I love the original-size Rosie's that I have, but I would like to check out one of the XLs. Thanks!!
@@tonymacias2496 my pleasure. Thanks for watching.
You're not a gentleman nor sophisticated enough for this knife. Put that down
154CM is not a bad steel. I carry a Kershaw Livewire magnacut as edc.
@@MY-T-SHARP666 nice
That sharpening notch serves no purpose on a fighting blade.
dude go ahead and question it who ever made this thing isn´t a professional knife designer either having made this thing with that finish for that selfproclaimed propose at that price proves my point it´s a "badass" display piece which you are supposed to stab into a half rotten tire or something screaming "mad max" on a bed of scrap metal in a glass case so you look more "hardcore"
@@Baum_Mann everyone’s entitled to an opinion man. Appreciate you sharing.
Just bought this at Scheels for $99. For that price. It's a nice little OTF, and probably the price it should be normally.
@@hardeho completely agree.
Just got mine too! Great edc
I just did today as well. Not terrible for that price.
At least it's not made in CHINA!!!
This was pretty nice looking compared to the other sogs…great user knife
I carry (EDC) this model (the gray/blue/black blade one). I share your gripes with the pocket clip, however it hasn’t fallen out of my pants yet so I can’t complain lol. I don’t have large hands, so it works fine for me. Anything more than 4.5 closed is too big for my personal tastes. I re-sharpened mine at 17 degrees both sides and it’s a joy to use. As for the off-centering, when you retract the blade, if you slightly push it in the opposite direction (while retracing) it is centered just fine. SOG’s Cryo heat treat is honestly the only reason to buy SOG. They at least are doing that right. Overall I like it. I paid $55 for my Twitch 3. For that price, I think it’s a winner.
@@DanaBlanco-UFC thanks for that info. Love that you’re carrying one.
@ Thank you for your reply.
The twitch 3 is probably the best of the 8/9 I sent in. I'd have no problem recommending it
@ I agree. I think at $55 it’s a no brainer. At $70-$80 it’s a tougher sell, but still not bad.
Not great but better than the other sog knives you reviewed
“There should be now safe queens” preach it Dirk. Glad you got to experience the Bluephin. Love owning it, and really think it’s an awesomely unique.
Absolutely love my scandi grind but this is just not my cup of tea at all
@@profesorEDC I get that. Maybe tomorrow’s video will be more your thing. That’s the beauty there’s always another knife tomorrow 😉👍🏻
@DirkWerning nonetheless I enjoy the videos my friend, I may not like every knife but appreciate your comment 😁👍
Just got one for Black Friday sale for 99$ lol. It’s no Microtech like my other otfs but I like it for a single Benjamin. No way I’d dream of paying 300+
@@TaylorBell-d3i agree fir $99 is a deal.
Thanks
You people kill me with imperial measures,if I wasnt in the industry that uses it you could measure the length in cubits and leagues it would mean the same to me. Metric is a lot simpler, yes, for the smpleminded europeans...😊
Have you ever handled a Morrish knife?
@@paullmight42 no I don’t think I have.
It is unique....
Nice knife. Reminds me of a Emerson. Never herd of his knives, thanks for showing it off.
Thanks for sharing. What I like best about your channel is you have opened me up to makers I have not heard or seen before. Thanks again.
@@barboki that’s great because that’s one of the reasons I show such a variety of knives and makers.
Something down below. lol …… In all seriousness, would absolutely love to own one if the Fisher’s insanely cool knives.
@@jrcleffie love it. Thanks man.
A completely straight blade is not good for anything☝️🤣
I just seen one of his knives in person like a week ago and they look a lot better in person in my opinion, kind of like Emerson's. Those always looked cheap like Kershaw's to me until I got one in hand
I thought the same thing, much different in hand.
Deep carry pocket clip is made to completely be inside the pocket.
Are you a fan of GEC?
@@jackasswhiskyandpintobeans9344 not so much. Never got into the traditional type knives 🤷🏼♂️
@@DirkWerning That's a shame because I had some tips on buying knives made by the founder Bill Howard.
