    Funny thing, Frankie Valli never had any voice training or lessons. His four octave range made so many songs sparkle it was rediculous. Try some of the others out.

    Once again you’ve taken me back in time.
    The minute this song started playing, I was taken to the summer of 1962 when this song came out.
    My aunt Patsy (she was 16 then) and I (age 7) would dance in our stocking feet on our kitchen’s linoleum floor as she taught me all of the latest moves of the day.
    I think that I’m going to call her right now and see how she is.

    Fun Fact: Thanks to actor Joe Pesci for putting Frankie & the Four Seasons together. Before he was famous, he hooked Bob Gaudio (keys and backing vox). Joe was buddies with Tommy DeVito (guitar). If Bob didn't join, none of this wouldn't have happened. React to "Let's Hang On", Frankie's voice has grit due to his cigarette habit but still flawless. After reacting to a few of their songs, I recommend you to watch "Jersey Boys" it's based off the broadway show but based off Frankie and the guys. I consider you and your wife to watch the movie on your date night. Spoil Alert: Jersey Boys is currently on Netflix. Great movie, great songs and worth seeing.

    This was the real deal! Three of them were friends who started out singing on the street corners in Jersey, and then they added the forth, a guy who had already had a hit with a song he wrote. No "manufactured" groups where some guy picks some pretty boys and teaches them to sing a bit; these guys had real, natural talent! And their sound was like no one else's. The Greatest Hits of the Four Seasons was the very first tape (as in cassette) I bought off TV. I phoned in my order, sent a money order to pay for it and waited not so patiently until the post office notified me that it was there. I ran right down there to get it, and popped it in the player before I was out of the parking lot. Such a great group. They had their tragedies too; one got into financial troubles with the mob and Frankie's daughter died of a drug overdose. But they left such a legacy! If you haven't seen the move or play "Jersey Boys", I recommend it. The language is terrible, but a great story and, of course, the music is amazing!

    Oh the memories! Summer of '62; I had just finished 2nd grade. This song comes on the car radio (tuned to WGH 1310) while the whole family is headed out for dinner. My father, a very conservative fan of big band music, reacts with , "Wow, what a sound!" Of course we're all listening closely and excitedly to the lyrics because my 11-year old sister in the back seat is named Sherry! This song was immediately a family favorite cranked up whenever it came on.

    The best way to learn falsetto as a man is literally just to try and imitate the tone quality of great women or child singers and not be afraid to sound silly-you’ve probably done it in speech and just never noticed. Children’s choirs with teenage sections frequently teach it to boys when their voices are changing so they can still sing the high notes with the rest of Sopranos and Altos. Women can sing falsetto too, but it sounds a lot more similar to their modal head voice so it’s not as easy to notice as in men, and as such harder to teach the intuitive difference in “feel”.

      Will Dwyer (1) The Church didn’t do it, the boy’s parents usually hired someone to do it after finding out how in-demand they were as a way to social climb-top level singers were set for LIFE, and castratos had less competition because of how rare it was for the child’s talent to be recognized at such a young age and for the parents to even know what a castrato was, let alone actually go through with the operation. (2) The Church did hire them-only the biggest cathedrals could afford their services, but they did-so shares some blame for the practice, but so did secular Opera. And the Church banned the practice earlier than Opera did-there were Castrato Opera stars who lived into the recording age. (3) Castrati and Falsetto, while they sound vaguely similar are completely different vocal production techniques, with a Castrato having a more similar (both biologically and tonally) sound to an adult female singer or child singer than to an adult male using falsetto. Why was this reply necessary to a discussion of Falsetto on a Frankie Vallie video? The last Castrato had been dead for decades before this song came out.

    • @IONATVS
      @IONATVS 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Edward Prawdzik Frankie Vallie had (and has) an exceptionally strong and clearfalsetto, but it is not hard to train men with a decent voice to use their falsetto at least somewhat. Most use a falsetto speaking voice without thinking if they’re attempting to mimic the mannerisms of a girl for some kind of joke or making baby voices at a cute animal or kid. It takes some practice to turn that into a singing voice, but *having* a falsetto isn’t really hard, *using it intentionally and well* is.

      Love that song! Got to see Lou sing it live when I was about 12. "Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars" came to town (mid-60's) & he was one of the performers. He sounded great. Later that night my dad was at a restaurant when the whole "caravan" came in. He went over & got several autographs for me including Lou's and Louise Harrison's. George Harrison's sister was on the tour. She didn't sing, she would simply take questions from the audience about The Beatles. So somewhere in my attic there's a little notebook with Lou Christie's autograph & some Beatle DNA.😂💙
