Mike Cates I did that starting March 2020 and I haven't looked back! The 70s were such a great time. I graduated high school in '76, spent the next three years partying and working for the $ to party then I met my late husband November 1979 and got married August 1980. Good times.....
“I don’t know how to not be..this is all I know”. Dude, that’s exactly what everyone here sees! A genuine heart, a pure soul, a great human being. Wish we had a whole world of people like you!
Dude in the 70s we all listened to the same music. I felt we were more together back then . We need to quit being divided and come together with music and dancing
Love those horns! My husband and I say all the time that we miss the days when people played real instruments in bands. Even songs we didn’t like then, sound GREAT now.😄
"Get Down Tonight" and "I'm Your Boogie Man" were like that too. KC & The Sunshine Band made sure, that their was a long enough, good intro, which signaled people to, using a James Brown phrase, "Get Up Offa That Thing!".
KC and the Sunshine Band had hits but didnt get the musical respect they deserved. Man, listen to this arrangement especially with the horns. This is a great song.
Music was good but let’s be honest, repeating a single line over and over and over and over won’t put you in the same class as respected bands of their era.
@@1BobsYourUncle If you look at the era that this music was made, there was no MTV, or videos. People kind of judged the band without ever seeing them. 1974 was not that far removed from the civil unrest of the 60's and like it or not, there were and still are biases based on sound alone.
You're a good man Jamel! We should have a huge dance party like on Soul train all over the world. Thanks for bringing us together to unify through music.
I'm ready for that !!! I may be a 60 year old white man but I watched Soul Train every Saturday afternoon at 1pm right after 1 hour of Championship Wrestling from Florida with Gordon Solie !!!

I just realized how strange I must have appeared to adults back then, when I was under 10 yrs., running around singing this chorus. Oh, those innocent days! 😅
I'm a 60 year old retired Army rank commander. Grew up in northern Maine. Never met an African American until I was 21. You, my friend, have a charisma and lovability that is beyond measure! Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll bridge that gap plus attract many thousands more subscribers! You're dancing and smiling are infectious! God bless you!
KC and the Sunshine Band is the way I like it. I like it when the younger generation enjoys and appreciates awesome musical talent from decades of the 70s and 80s.
Get a KC cd and a pair of platform shoes blast the music so even your neighbors get up and dance with you and yours!!!💜The whole band was always just too damn groovy for words! ✌
Whenever I hear a song on the radio that you’ve reacted to.... I could visualize your reaction and it makes the song that much more enjoyable.... keep it coming ..
That's the whole reason that I like reaction videos! Seeing people's responses to my favorites is like getting to hear them for the first time again. Jamel's joy in music and life, and his wonderfully expressive face just make the experience that much better! 🥰
Performers always lip-synched on Soul Train - not to take anything away from their music at all, but this isn't a live performance. The live ones are always better if you want to get a better idea of any bands' actual playing and singing, Soul Train won't tell you much. ST was more about the dancing.
I live in Miami and actually met Denvil Liptrot who was part of that original horn section. . Worked with his brother for a few years in Transit. KC is from Hialeah Fl and has a street named after him .Respect
Good to see you "jamming out" and "cutting the rug" to K.C. and the Sunshine Band! Always enjoy seeing you feeling the music all throughout your body...go get your "Boogie Shoes" on now! 😁 👍
Jamel, you are already doing EXACTLY what you need to to accomplish your goal. You just keep putting out material like you've been doing, & your channel will be just fine! I wonder how many other Jamal fans are back to watch this for their 3rd time :-)....Someone else commented on another KC song that he'd never appreciated the horns.....I completely agree! Heard this a MILLION times, how did I not give props to the talented horn musicians !!!!
No choice but to move when you hear this !! Horns are amazing, lady singers amazing, KC amazing vocals and energy. Fun reaction....your smile is contagious!

This is the quintessential KC and Sunshine band song in my eyes. You, my sweet lovely man just bring us all together and your heart and soul are just huge💝💝💝
I came to your channel to watch a black man react to a couple heavy metal songs. I stayed for the man that is truly trying to bring the world together through great music. I can feel your love man!
That horn section is awesome. You cannot take your eyes off that groovy horn section. Wow. I have always loved the Sunshine Band and these guys are why.
When i was growing up my mom would alway ask me " do you really like that?" Whenever i liked a song. I find it healing to share my songs with you and you don't imply that I'm stupid for liking them. You are important Jamel.
I know you're a genuine person and that you're heart is in the right place. We need to remember the golden rule and do our best to follow it every single day.
I was born in the 60's and I grew up with these groups, and more. Chic, and pointer sister's, Glades night, and the pips. We would play she's a brick house, all time. Love me some 70's. Love how you feel the beat and emotion! So much fun watching you enjoy the old music like me, and my friends, and family. We love to dance.
Yes, "Actions speak louder than words" and "People more attention pay to what we do than what we say". You have got both ... the words and the actions ... that's why we love you!

There was so much "Happy Music" back then. I miss those days sooo.
forgot KC had this many hits until Jamel reminded us
Huge
Only Donna sunners & Bee Gees more disco hits
One of my favorites from my childhood during the 70's
And how much we enjoyed it and danced to it
You forgot ?....N PLEASE !
Me too.
Oh lord, I remember doin’ the bump to this one. Everybody running to the dance floor when this came on.
Teensy Mom It was the best way to get everybody up and off the couch at parties too!
"Get Down Tonight" and "I'm Your Boogie Man" were like that too. KC & The Sunshine Band made sure, that their was a long enough, good intro, which signaled people to, using a James Brown phrase, "Get Up Offa That Thing!".
The bump is the funnest dance ever!
YESSS! The bump!!
me too! lol
You were raised well by loving parents. You should be happy that you are a positive, kind, humble person.
KC and the Sunshine Band had hits but didnt get the musical respect they deserved. Man, listen to this arrangement especially with the horns. This is a great song.
I was born in 74 and didn't gain respect for disco until the later 80s. At least it was actually played by musicians with instruments!
Music was good but let’s be honest, repeating a single line over and over and over and over won’t put you in the same class as respected bands of their era.
@@1BobsYourUncle There's that too! Lyrics didn't matter to a 5 year old bouncing to the family's "various artists" 8-tracks lol
Absolute killer band

I can't dance, until this song comes on, and then i can't dance with style!

Well said. Party at Jamel’s😆
That would be cool!
If there was a Disco dance party in the San Fernando Valley, I would go and dance my heart out!
I love how they could dance, sing and play an instrument at the same time!

I remember when my sister won tickets to see them in 1976.
Followed up by "Love Rollercoaster".
The kids are hearing these songs, they're going to change the world with them.
SURE!!! NO TENEMOS SALIDA SINO VOLVEMOS A LOS MEJORES TIEMPOS VIVIDOS, CON LOS VALORES DE VIDA QUE TUVIERON LOS AÑOS 60, 70!!!
With that dance intro, I think you need to watch The Jackson Five singing "Dancin Machine". The first time most of us saw "The Robot"!
You are a "bridge over troubled waters," and are appreciated.
What a wonderful way to put it. nice...
Simon and Garfunkel
And James Taylor, fire and rain.
