I lived in Alice Springs for 29 Years (1955 to 1984 the moved to Darwin) and goodness me I experienced many droughts and and serious floods. The footage you're showing just brought back numerous memories in particular the Charles river crossing the old dipper under the Geoff Moss bridge.
That's bloody cool mate, you would have seen a hell of a lot in that time. Would have been a very nostalgic vid for you 😄
Wow! 😲 That's a lot of water over there. No wonder it's so lush and green. It looks so different to what the NT outback usually looks like. And this is probably the first time I saw other vehicles in your video, let alone a town. 😁👍
Yeah it's pretty bloody wild mate! Haha yeah I see some other humans from time to time 🤣
Great Bonus Video. We were lucky enough to have been in Alice many years ago when it rained. The Todd River was running the next day. Thanks for showing us this recent downpour. 150 mils will make a big difference to the outback. It looks magnificent.
How good is that mate! Ooh yeah, a lot of the country was looking good from rains throughout the year. It'll be a whole other level now.
Great scenery.. totally different look with the rain..
It's incredible 😲
Hi there, just like Manchester constant rain but you got a lot better scenery.
This doesn't happen very often. It's awesome when it does though!
Reminds me on days when I lived in Cloncurry.Same scenery around during the wet season!
That's cool mate.
Beautiful country 😊
Sure is!
Love the off-road vids mate! Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the violence, vandalism & abuse going on around Alice Springs at the moment
Cheers mate, I'm sure a fair few people would love some insight into good ol Alice Springs...
Used to love the smell of the rain
It's honestly one of my faveroute things haha
Going through the big dipper up the north road brought back memories before the bridge was built. We use to go sliding down the big rock at the telegraph station after the Todd stopped flowing. Love it when the Todd flowed pre bridge days everyone would swap sides on town so they did not get stranded lol. Going to Sadadeen High was an adventure when the Todd flowed lol. Great video thanks for sharing.
Wow, what a great bit of insight mate, love it! Thankyou.
Wow that’s brilliant.
Such a sight to see.
I reckon it’s great how excited you are about the rain and water about the joint. Top stuff mate! Hopefully the station held up alright and didn’t create too much work for you 🤙🏻
Cheers mate, she'll be bloody looking good but there will be a fair bit to do I'd say!
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
No worries at all, thanks for watching and leaving a nice comment mate.
Wonderful video and drone images, what a sight. Tell me, is the Alice a lawless place where tourist are likely to get beaten up and robbed by drug or alcohol affected youth, as the eastern states media portray it.? I have often wanted to ask someone who actually lives there.? 150 MLS,, what a ripper rain
This requires a long thoughtful response but I'll say this, it's beautiful here as you can see... there is some great people here etc... but yes it's also damn terrible here don't get it confused. It's really easy to find out what it's like here, there's a reason it has a shitty reputation. Watch spanions youtube vid, he was just here. Cheers mate
@@OutbackOffroadNT I think today’s report of last night activity in the Alice, tells me all I need to know. When fed politicians are calling for the riot squad, you know there’s something very wrong. I won’t be venturing that way anytime soon, which is a very sad state of affairs
Great rain , sets the year up for you 😁👍
For sure mate 👍
Good old track to wiggles water hole.i miss the 4wd tracks around Alice. I remember driving through honey moon gap when water was knee deep.
Hey mate, yeah it's a good spot hey. And honeymoon gap is a real beautiful place.
Absolutely awesome brother compared to 16 to 19, I've been going swimming in the creek everyday for the past 4 mouths love the videos bro keep em coming! 🤙🏻 Watching from Elalie
Thank you bro! Yeah how good hey, gotta make the most of all the fresh water in the creeks! Thanks again mate, take it easy! 👍
Thanks for putting this up! Nice work with the drone on the opening sequence, I'm not that brave with mine haha 😂 One mistake and it's all over. Great to see all the water, never seen it like that. Cheers.
Haha, yeah not wrong mate! Wouldn't be the first time I crashed a drone. So much water around, it's great to see.
So wonderful maybe once in five years 🎉
👌
Wow love it thank you
Thank you mate, no worries 👍
Our creeks are flooding pretty bad, some of our animals have been stranded in the waters but it’s slowly coming down
Farout mate I hope it all works out ok for you, are you around Alice?
It’s awesome to see so much water! Send some down to central vic pls 😂
Yeah it's bloody incredible! Rightio I'll send it on down 😃
@@OutbackOffroadNT we head out to have a look when it floods here too. The waters just brighten the mood! It’s bone dry here this year and feels like summer is just dragging on.
Yeah it's the best hey, aw that's no good I do hope you get some rain soon!
Ah lovely 😂 some of thats coming my way down south. I was hoping to go shopping this weekend coming haha might be in luck and itll be only puddles when i want to drive up. 😅 the boys just been through to grade the track lol while the rain was smashing in 😅
Have you guys had any rain? Always good when the roads freshly graded aye, might be a bit how ya goin with all this rain though 😂
Spoke with local council lads. They pulled up before the first river exit and parked up so hopefully get graded soon after it dies down. Ready for finke desert race i rekon. They might trim it again before the race but push the bulk of it about now. Yeah she rain here consistently but not as much as you guys. But the river is pumping atm take couple days to move on an drop
Good as gold mate, yeah I'm keen as for the Finke this year, so good to see the creeks running. Got me itching to go camping!
Yeah it'll be my first time, keen to see. The rain is like snow event back home we all get out in 4x4s an explore the place with family an friends. Got my camping gear organised can't wait either. It's nice not freezing my ass off or getting soaked 90% of the day and stand around like penguins huddled leaning on a angle. And starting a fire here is a dream.
Yeah that's it mate, Finke is the best and you'll have a blast guaranteed. She can get pretty cold though. Oh wait your from tassie 🥶😂
Howdy, been watching a while. How long ago did you film this? We are looking to head up around the western macs mid April. Had planned to do around Birdsville but that seems wet around the Warburton.
I've seen the Tod twice with water in it, they says the times and you're a local, might have to test that theory.
G'day mate, This was filmed over the weekend. I reckon you'll be fine around mid April, but who knows if more rain is on the way. 3 times yeah that's what they say! Thank you for joining the channel and watching 🍻
going to be dry summer they said , wrong anouther wet years with tanks over flowing
Yeah it's pretty wild hey mate. I honestly thought we were in for a bad run, I will say that it was a hot summer with consecutive very hot days. But this rain is awesome!
Amazing eh!
👌
Nobody having a little slurpy in the Todd today
Maybe go for a skinny dip I reckon 😅
