Great video, beautiful scenery and so good to see a youtube video of someone camping with only whats required, not overloaded with too much unnecessary gear.
Cheers mate, for sure! I honestly hate having a crazy set-up with unnecessary stuff. You really don't need a $30000 canopy outfit. But each to their own.
Now that's what I call a steak sandwich. It looks like you're overnighter turned into a chillaxing short break. I've done that before. I drove 2hrs to get to a riverside campsite, only to pack up and leave 2.5hrs later due to a severe thunderstorm that started. I had to drive over two ford crossing to get to that spot, and I didn't want to get stuck there in case the river rose. So I left before that happened. Sometimes, things just go as planned. Oh well.
I’m 100% with ya about that fold out table mate. I was blowing up about one on Anzac Day, you almost need 3 arms to set it up and pack it up. I just take the larger one camping these days and keep that little one at home as a spare.
Nice vid mate. I totally agree with you. East Macky is the most neglected but very picturesque area. Me and family visited this area sept 2023 and found very quiet but very scenic. Yes visited Arltunga and was thinking why no one done up this hotel and bring the old glory back in. Good luck with your old man and partner for the decision. Looking forward to visit this area again soon (hopefully few nights in Ruby Gap) Thanks
Cheers mate, I love it out there. Love hearing that you and your family also got to enjoy the place. It's a slow process but Arltunga is being restored and I'm glad to be a part of some of the process! Thanks mate and who knows, I might just see you out at Ruby Gorge sometime 👍
Bloody beautiful out your way. Haven’t been to the territory in years. Heading out your way after xmas this year. Gunna give the new 76 a trip away from Qld
Stear clear of insect repellant, i use to use it. I dont use it any more. I would rather the bites then chemicals on me. Same with sunscreen. Took me 20 yrs to realise the shite they do to us.
Beautiful area through there Brother. Enjoyed the vid. Showcased it perfectly. Love the drone work 👌👌 The mozzies can turn it on hey 😂😂 Good job Brother 👌
Good to see that you enjoy your red rock chips with your beer mate We grow spuds for a living and have supplied that company for about 20 years, Enjoy and thanks for the great video
Haa! This is why i bought a big swag (23 Zero 1550 Outbreak) that i can literally sit up in, make a coffee etc or even spend all day in if i need to incase of mozzies (after sunset like this) or bad weather. Fck those original swags - they dont cut it in times like this or when its pissing down.
Yeah I've got an ARB sky dome double, it's great, but I much prefer the good old simple swag, usually I'm all good when I don't forget to bring mozzie repellent haha. Rolling out a swag and having to erect scaffolding everytime just to sleep gets old real quick.
Stunning part of the outback thats for sure. Was shocked you cut up dead tree, for firewood, which is part to the beauty in the landscape. Then light a fire on the ground, and properly left behind unhurt wood charcoal and ash that would take years to disappear. Why not bring firewood and afire pit? This is as bad as campers leaving used toilet paper and litter behind What happened to take only pictures and leave only foot prints?
Great video, I assume the area you were in is a national or state park, here in VIC you can’t even pick up deadfall wood, let alone cut down a dead tree any more.🤨
Thankyou mate, wow that's ridiculous! Why did they implement that? Up here is very relaxed and you are free to be a human being which is the only way it should be. Though the places I actually got wood from come to think of it were Arltunga and a cattle station.
Good advertisement for Central Australia. The poor flies didnt get a mention though 😢 keep a face net in your car so handy. I know its hard to have a beer but there worthwile. East McDonnell is just as good as the west for sure. Just has the element of adventure and the magic of the land not as commercial feeling as the west. Im glad i come up an seen your backyard mate doesnt disappoint at all. Did a late arvo drive from finke yesterday to alice for a supply run. Camera will never show the magic of how epic an the glow of the red hey. Good stuff epsiode. Apparently im off to mount dare, or dalhouise or eringa or Charlotte waters next weekend. Suppose well stop which looks best for thr night hey. Ill try some handline fishing never done it. 😅
Yeah exactly mate, the east is much more of an adventure! And I ain't no tourist, I do not and will never run a fly net 🤣 not to mention I've become one with the flies, they don't bother me haha. When you've lived here all ya life you learn to love them.
@@OutbackOffroadNT true definition of a love hate relationship lol truck the little buggers! We still get our big sand flies in west coast tassie plus mozzies eating us alive. Usually fire does work but like ya said they hide in bed waiting for you lol nothing old mate mortiens can't help you out with at night.
What a Great Video. Love the scenery out there. Looked like a perfect night for a camp out bush. Beautiful sunset on the ranges. Pity the mossies ruined it.
Thanks, be patient mate, you can't have everything in one video, you can't please everybody. There is always someone wanting just a little bit more, some of this and maybe add that... I'll get there. Cheers
Your kidding mate, doesn’t need to dribble on about indigenous history if he doesn’t want to, I like many others I am sure, are not here for a history lesson, he can make a video however he sees fit. Just turn on your TV and I am sure you will get your indigenous fix soon enough. FYI: No I am certainly not racist before you hit me with that one as well 😆
Hi mate loving the videos and the build. Just wondering what wheels you are running with the 33's? My 79 is due next week and trying to work out if I should go steelies or use the OEM wheels which I thought you were using
Cheers mate, I ran the GXL wheels for a while and they are great but they are too narrow for 33's. So I decided to go to the tried and true sunraysia style steel rim. 16x8 ROH black track. Rears are neg 22, fronts are 0 offset. It's a good set-up however I may be changing the tyre/rim combo once these tyres wear out, purely to try something different.

agree completely. less is better, lets you spend more time realxing than setting up and packing

I thought surely there has to be someone else that hates these things 😂
What a backyard you have mate! Jealous 👌
Yeah it's OK I guess... haha, yep it's bloody great mate!

This is top tier, haha I can't believe you happened to be watching mate, well your spuds are bloody delicious! Thankyou 👍
Thanks for my Saturday morning fix of central Australia. Cuppa tea, in bed beautiful landscape
No worries at all mate, I made sure to get it uploaded early for ya 😂👍
awesome episode, i can tolerate flies but mozies they are next level, i would have got out of there
Yeah i don't mind the flies mate, i agree them mozies are another thing all together! Can only tolerate them if theres few around, Cheers mate
What brand were those lights
Are you talking about the camp lighting? I mentioned in the vid what brand they were mate.
@@OutbackOffroadNT hahah yeh I rewatched it and caught the brand
No worries man, they were honestly great, I just wonder how long the batteries will last before needing replacing.
At 3.15 looks like you were driving in reverse. Very skilful 😂
🤣 yep, that's easy peazy.
The light reflecting off those clouds was incredible.
Fantastic wasn't it, What an evening.
Lived in Cloncurry so everything looks the same once when you leave town.
Yeah pretty flat country out that way hey?
@@OutbackOffroadNT Pretty much.Around Mt Isa gets bit hilly but no shade aye.Even mossi protection useless lol also dry heat no humidity
Haha yeah them bloody mozzies mate! And our summers are usually proper dry heat, except for when the rain rocks up then she can be a bit humid.

Not sure if you are serious, but this is ridiculous mate.
I’m with you on the “ keep it basic philosophy”, easy is good.
Really enjoyed your vid …new sub .
Yep, a relatively simple set-up is key for me. Thank you mate I really appreciate that 👍
That reflection on back window steeled the show, nice country side.
Cheers mate 👍
Nothing like waking up to a new video on a sat morning 🤙
Legend! I love hearing it. Thank you, and enjoy 👌
Have you installed the ARB MT64 Shock Absorbers you mentioned in one of your previous videos?
No not yet, that is happening very soon though, and I will make a full vid for the MT64's.

I should also say that if I were to camp inside a conservation reserve, for example, I would collect wood before entering.
@@OutbackOffroadNT , they implemented it to preserve habitat for little creatures !!🤔

East of Alice Springs is absolutely amazing mate.
Awesome video bud as always, what a spectacular spot 👍
You still going the mt64 shockies?..
Cheers mate, MT64's were postponed a little but will be fitted soon enough with there own vid for sure.

Haha, well I'm flattered ☺️

Cheers, It really was a spectacular day and beautiful night mate.
You lucky bugger. Half your luck getting out in the bush. Then the mozzies came along and finished it. 👍🏽🇦🇺👍🏽
😂
Very beautiful landscape, it make you want to visit around Alice Spring, with a Land cruiser, of course 👍
👌
Forgot the Aerogard mate.
Yep, rooky move 😬
@@OutbackOffroadNT Toilet paper & Aerogard. Two things you can't survive without in the Aussie bush.
There's a reason the dingos are on the ridges at night no mossis😂😂
I thought maybe they were howling so much because they were getting smashed by mozzies 🤣
Why would there be no mosquito on the ridge ??
Them big bastards! 😂😂
Haha, mate they were some jacked ants aye!
