QANTAS I Still Call Australia Home Campaign:
More than 35 years after Qantas first launched an advertising campaign using the iconic Peter Allen anthem I Still Call Australia Home, the airline has unveiled a new version of the advertisement to showcase Australia as the world re-opens and travellers return to the skies.
The advert has a contemporary arrangement of the song and features the vocals of a new generation of the Australian Girls Choir together with National Boys Choir, the Gondwana Choir and some of Australia’s most loved personalities.
Along with Kylie Minogue, Ash Barty, Hugh Jackman and Troye Sivan, the campaign also stars children from Longreach, Qantas staff, Adam Goodes, members of Bangarra Dance Theatre, swimmers Bronte Campbell and Ellie Cole and Aboriginal Elder Rene Kulitja.
The advert was filmed pre-COVID at locations around Australia, from the spectacular Hutt Lagoon in WA to the jagged cliffs of Cape Raoul in Tasmania. Scenes were also filmed in Melbourne, Uluru (Ayers Rock), Hobart, Brisbane, Sydney, South Australia’s salt lakes, Longreach, the Whitsundays, Los Angeles, Tokyo and London.
The final cut of the advertisement highlights emotional reunions with loved ones as more Australians are travelling domestically and international visitors are returning.

@GrizDeBear amen!!! There's nothing wrong with being proud of the country that raised you. I'm American but I live in Italy. I may not care for Trump and I don't care for guns. But I will never forget the people who raised me. On a side note, I miss Starbucks and iced coffee offered at every coffee shop 😅.

I was a kid in the AYC (Australian youth choir) and we were the kids in the original ad from the 90s, this one hits home for me, know it word for word. Can never seem to keep my composure through it anymore 😂

It has been over 25 years since I heard the 90s version (a Hongkong special maybe) for the very first time. Well, it just kinda brings me back to that summer. Got a bit emotional listening to this.
I always recall my staying Tasmania as an exchange student when I listen this song.

I remember boarding QF2 after living in London for 2 years way back in 2005. The sound of Australian pilots and cabin crew on the plane made me feel at home. I remember when we landed, saying welcome home.

Absolutely love this ….it tears at the heart strings. I arrived in Australia as a 4 yo refugee from war torn Europe with my parents (I’m now 78). I’m a true blue Aussie as I can play a didgeridoo and have been vaccinated as a true blue Aussie (I was bitten by a snake when I was 10 😀). Such a great song, always touching my heart. I’m currently in Year 6, and for our English grade we have to choose a poem to recite, I immediately sprung on the offer and chose this one, probably my favourite poem I’ve ever heard. It’s a shame I have to recite it, not sing it, as the note have such a sad but heartwarming bittersweet feeling.

For generations, many foreign people say such bad things about Australia. But they never actually realise how good Australia and our people are until they are standing on Aussie soil.
I really hope that they gave the people who put together the 2009 version a raise, a promotion, and a little crown, because though this was star-studded and great, nothing will compare to that (even the original).

w...why isn't THIS our anthem? ..we all feel so proud when we hear this. tbh even when i was little up until now i still feel like our national anthem is not what we are about... we are about how thankful about how we were born and raised in one of the most beautiful places in the world no matter where we are! I understand this came from an ad but i feel like we can put this behind us and use a song that actually brings us together and not an anthem that some people barely pay attention to... this should be the thing we stand up for, this is the song that shows people who we are. where we are... and what we stand for..
