Me being old 72 and with some finger dexterity issues from being a veteran, I’m slow and fumble at simple knots I used to tie in my sleep. This knot, now that I have made the turn to braided line will go a lot smother to tie. Thank you.
I have watched four different videos and couldn't get the Knotts going. The tutorials were terrible. You, on the other hand, had the right view and the right way to do it. Thank you so much for this tutorial!
I've watched a number of Alberto tying videos. And I've fumbled through most of them with my 71 YO eyes and digits. Justin's has magic dust that makes it happen. His DUST is the pinch. Pinching the loop into a fold is the KEY. The road taken, ALL the difference. Thanks for the tip.
Thanks dude, best tutorial I've seen yet!! I watched 3 other tutorials online and yours is the only one that makes any sense. The rest of the tutorials are too fast and not taken step by step slowly. Thanks!!! Happy Fishing!
I learned this as the Modified Albright. Tomato Tomatoe I guess. A tiny drop of super glue insures no slippage and helps the knot slide through the guides. This is my go to knot for fishing ultralight 4# Nanofil superline and 5X tippet for 1/8th oz jigs for Brown trout. Great instruction!!
The inventor is a VERY well known and respected fisherman and charter captain by the name of Alberto Knie. HEnce it being known where it was created and popularized as the alberto or crazy alberto (his nickname) knot. Yes it is the same as whats known as a modified albright in other parts of the country. Mainly outiside the east coast.
Perfect👌🏼 Even with my awful eyesight & very little fishing experience I managed that knot thanks to your clear simple instructions. Nice. Thank you 👍🏻
This is my goto knot for braid to fluorocarbon for about 5 yrs now. When i learned it, i was told to have the braid go through the fluo loop in the same direction. ie both pointing up or both pointing down through the loop, it makes it slightly more compact. Also you can tighten it in too stages. Pull all 4 strands to tighten the front of the knot and then let go of both tag ends and pull on the main braid and main fluo and that will tighten the back of the knot. Excellent, efficient demonstration. You likely helped out a lot of fishermen with this video!
I found a hot glue stick and a lighter in an old tackle box from my grandpa. It’s partially melted. I’m assuming that he used it kinda like they would super glue? I just now learned they used super glue from this comment section lol
The most simplistic way of making this knot tie in which normally it takes safisticated moves to tie this knot by other fisherman. Yet, you explain it so step by step in a matter that anybody with no practical skills can do this. Thank you...
Just tied my first braid to mono using your help. Turned out great, my fingers fumbled for a bit until I got the hang of it. I expected my first attempt to be a disaster and have to start over, but it was as easy as you said. Thanks!
Just found this video Justin. What a well made video! Very simple, straight forward knot. This will be my go to knot when tying flouro to braid from now on. Thanks Justin!!!
Oh man, I'm picking up fishing again after years of not doing it, and I was getting so frustrated with my inability to tie a leader, including trying to follow an image, also even a video tutorial of an another knot (which, to my immense delight, just goshdarn slipped right through, haha). Almost gave up on my spontanious idea of trying for some bass this morning, and you saved my ass man, thanks so much - sure, it's not the most elegant knot, but for a noob like me this made the whole difference between going or not. Much appreciated, much love, subbed.
Great knot. I tied that knot in A tackle store in New Zealand. About 100 times a week for the last 15 years. We call that an allbright knot. No need to pinch the fluorocarbon. We go 4 loops down, 8 loops back. It's a 70% knot. So for inshore light tackle perfect. With heavier braid we use the PR knot. With a bobbin, it's a 100% knot. But takes a few minutes to tie. 30 wraps down, 60 wraps back, 16 alternating 1/2 hitches and clinched with a risutto.
I’m embarrassed to say I have a lot of trouble with the blood knot, so that’s why I’m here. I was able to tie this one easily first try. Thanks for the tutorial.
Dude. Absolutely amazing you don't know how hard I been struggling to tie on a leader. It cost me my first musky a while back but. I think this knot should hold. Thank you
This knot was so simple, I work at a sports store and we sometimes have to spool reels for people. I always had issues connecting the mono backing to braid, this has been a big help. Awesome vid
Honestly so sick because I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched knot videos and I am just so lost, you did such a great job, Camera work was exquisite, appreciate it man, really hit home, killin it like always
Got this on the second try! Thanks for this. Could not tie a blood knot to save my life. Shooting this from the actual angle of how I’m tying it really helps. So many videos shoot from the opposite perspective which is extremely confusing with more complex knots.
Perfect video, all these other ones calling it "crazy" and "lazy" are just overthinking it. Only thing I do different is wet the flouro mainly so it doesn't burn. Great video
Pretty new to all of this. This video was the easiest to help me. Months in and trying to learn others but continue to end up back here tying this knot again. Thanks
Dude thanks q ton I've tried a bunch of these over years and never felt good about them or stuck with them but this knot I can do so thank you. Great job at demonstrating this too. Sweet my new liter knot
Idk what it is but every year I switch my line and come back to these videos. It always take me hours to finally get the knot correct. Idky I struggle tying this knot. With every video I watched I struggle except tying on a lure takes me 10 seconds
But the fg is almost the strongest knot but the worlds strongest knot is the pr knot and the 2nd world strongest knot is a modifed( or improved) fg knot
Thank you Justin. I have been trying to tie the FG knot for this purpose and have had mixed results, assuredly due to me making mistakes. This is so much easier. I have watched many of your videos and am subscribed, and greatly appreciate the tips you share. Thanks again.
Even I may be able to tied this knot😂 . I know from experience that tying knots requires practice. This presentation is excellent and easy to follow. Thank you!
Thank you for posting this video. You made it really simple and I so appreciate it. I was doing something wrong at first but then I watched it again and I corrected it and every time now the knot 🪢 is flat and straight. 😃
Well thank you there sonny at 102 I've been using the FG knot my eyes aren't good anymore so I'm going to have to try doing something different I want to give this one a shot
This has been known for many years as the Albright knot. It is good but I had one unravel recently. What happened was with repeated pulling over the guides on the rod the knot loosened an finally came apart. This was connecting 50 lb braid to 60 lb mono leader. The knot was good after tying. I'm going to try using crazy glue on it next time.
im new to to fishing, this is the first mainline to leader that i've actually been able to tie, granted it was with 9lb braid and 9lb fluoro but it was easy to do and came out pretty good
First vid out of maybe 20 where you explained it enough.... camera was close enogh.... and didnt speed thrpugh it where i actually got it. Literally tying my flouro leader to my braid listenin to your vid. Thank you. Make more how tos yo. Subed
Dude this is one of the best most simple videos ever on TH-cam no bs straight to point amd excellent camera work so easy to understand everything and knot 😊 rushed either I will be showing this know to all the kids on the next fishing day out in ireland amazing dude ❤
Had a spinner bait on leader line and it got snagged really bad and I yanked it out and the line didn't break!!! Really great video!!! The line holds strong even with a snag!!! You Da Man!!! :)
I tie double uni but it doesn't go through the guides well at all especially with heavier leaders and micro guides. I'm learning an fg now just getting comfortable with it and gaining confidence
FC is my favorite, but this alberto taught to kids for saltwater leader. I would use it in salt where I use a step down with a blood knot for floro to floro and a rapala knot for the lure.
Me being old 72 and with some finger dexterity issues from being a veteran, I’m slow and fumble at simple knots I used to tie in my sleep. This knot, now that I have made the turn to braided line will go a lot smother to tie. Thank you.
I’ve use the night before, but never switched hands on the back wind, and that seems to make it very so much simpler
I was watching so intently I spit on my screen for lube when he was pulling the knot tight…
😊 to o
thank you for your service Jerry! much love and you are really appreciated! you are still a legend
Damn. Thank you for your service

Tried 3 other tutorials before finding yours and completed your knot in 25 seconds. Thank you
Thanks so much for the demonstration, this is by far the easiest and fastest knot for a connection, nicely demonstratet, absolutely perfect, good on you
This is so much easier than a double uni knot. I'm a fan. Thank you
I watched a bunch of videos on how to tie a knot for braid to fluro. Your knot wins hands down. Thanks for the video.
Thanks dude, best tutorial I've seen yet!! I watched 3 other tutorials online and yours is the only one that makes any sense. The rest of the tutorials are too fast and not taken step by step slowly. Thanks!!! Happy Fishing!

He didn't invent anything. It is an Albright knot.@@zionkid420
I watched a few videos and failed until I came across yours and tied it the first time. Thanks brotha.
Thanks young man. At 70 years old the fingers aren't as flexible as when I was younger.

Wet the connections before sinching down. Makes it easier and won't cause burn. Excellent video!
curious on this knot if wetting it actually makes it easier to slip since the knot is really just the braid friction against the fluoro/mono
I've heard both actually. I heard wetting it is bad too. Looks like we need to do some testing.
@@Unit_With_Legs i feel i get a tighter knot when wetting. Been doing it for 30 years on every knot that cinches down.
@@paradisetackleyup….. I always believe that it wetting the lines stop the friction from heating the line. Seen others who would use superglue too.
I found a hot glue stick and a lighter in an old tackle box from my grandpa. It’s partially melted. I’m assuming that he used it kinda like they would super glue? I just now learned they used super glue from this comment section lol
I use this knot 100% of the time and it’s never failed. It’s also easy to tie.

Very simple knot. Exactly what I needed.

Super simple and got the knot on the first try. I have been using different knots for years but this one is just super easy to do. Thanks!
Best knot by far, I tied with my crippled up fingers on 1st try. Thank You
Just tied my first one ever in 42yrs, love it, thank you.
Dude. Absolutely amazing you don't know how hard I been struggling to tie on a leader. It cost me my first musky a while back but. I think this knot should hold. Thank you

No one at the tackle store showed you? That's terrible
@@joedennehy386 what’s more terrible is someone actually had him spool up mono backer to braid and not vice versa ??🤣🤌🏼
That's the reason I always deny the tackle shop of their services when buying a new reel.

What is the rizzuto finish. @cooper, great tip.
I always worry about the knots bumping the guides also
Lol same started making my own knots until I lost à lure lmao
This is the easiest tutorial to follow, I have tried other tutorials, this one I have saved on my phone , excellent, from Scotland 😊
Bro, this is one of the easiest and best explanatory video out there. Super easy to follow! Thankyou for this.
Damn that’s a simple, well described knot tutorial. Thanks so much. New subscriber.

Bro I watched at least 20 of these and this is by far the easiest and best way explained
Thank you!!
Every other knot I've tried on YT pulled out, this one is easy enough to remember and strong thanks
I have been looking for a video that could actually explain and be able to see the knot for over an hour thank you so much!!!
Best demonstration of tying the Alberto I've found.
Pretty new to all of this. This video was the easiest to help me. Months in and trying to learn others but continue to end up back here tying this knot again. Thanks
this video is great. I was actually able to tie the knot based on your instructions. I could not keep up with the other videos. thanks!
I tied this one--one big, BIG deal is on a rocking boat, it is still easy to tie. thanks, I never knew the name before.
Thank you! I have been using the double uni knot to connect my braid to fluorocarbon. Your video made it easy to tie this new know for me!
This has always been my go to knot for flouracarbon to braid. Well done 👍
Thanks for this, I stink at tieing knots and have had trouble getting others to work, this one works every time. Thanks again.
Just used this knot to make up my hybrid lead core rig on my reel! Works GR8! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the easy tutoriaI on this Alberto knot.. I learned to finally tie braid to flouro/mono leader.
This is gna work awesome for ice fishing with tip ups. I've always used barrel swivels. ,not no more! Thank you
Honestly, I might’ve sat for approx 2hrs tryna figure out a braid to mono, and this was the easiest way I found to make it happen
Brilliant knot, was looking for something I could tie on the boat when it was rocking and without a magnifying glass and this is it. Thanks
Key thing is too pull all 4 tag ends at same time. If u don't hold both tag ends on fluro it will come apart. Great video
Dude thanks q ton I've tried a bunch of these over years and never felt good about them or stuck with them but this knot I can do so thank you. Great job at demonstrating this too. Sweet my new liter knot
This vid helped me a lot. I was looking for the easiest way to tie a leader to a braid line for fly fishing. Thank you
The best knoz, i always use it, simple, fast and strong. Simple albright

Literally best tutorial, I nailed it on the first shot. Thanks!
First time to join two lines, real easy to follow. Thank you
I prefer the fg, but when I'm on a rush I do this and works great too.

I just started fishing a few months ago and just did this for the first time and was super easy

What kind of fg knot did you try to learn?
This is a 70% knot. The fg knot is a 70% knot. Sometimes it's 90% sometimes just 50%. For heavier braid the pr knot is the best

I’m gonna try this , I usually tie double uni knot , but this looks pretty cool and the quality of this tutorial 10/10

I love this knot I use it all the time
Thanks for the upload, got it the first time!
Thanks fam I watch a bunch of videos and half way get lost you made this super easy and finally can see actually what you doing thanks thanks
Great video you explained it well, hard to do the first time, but I see this getting easier doing it more often
