As a Texan, there is no doubt the best barbecue is found in the neighborhoods of Texas. The places you have mentioned are okay for tourist and transplants from California. But they don't compare to a home cooked Texas barbecue, where it is fresh off the grill.

Pecan Lodge is absolutely incredible. If you go, it’s beef ribs and burnt ends. There’s nothing like them. 👌🏻

The fact that you have none of the BBQ joints in Lockhart or Luling on this list proves that you know next to nothing about Texas BBQ!

City Market in Luling is where I was introduced to Texas barbecue, and it's still my favorite, followed by Louie Mueller (and at least Snow's and Micklethwaite's got a mention, with a few here that are good but IMHO overhyped). It's hard to pick a favorite in Lockhart, and it doesn't help that Kent Black himself gave us a guided tour of the place some years ago. While they're a chain now, the original Cooper's in Llano is also a must-visit, as is the Cooper's in Christoval, south of San Angelo: That's the last one that's actually still in the Cooper family, and the hospitality is off the chart.

I agree with this list. However, you forgot Fort Worth. Heim, Goldies, Daynes Craft and Panther City all in Fort Worth belong on this list.
