I usually give you high praise for your aesthetic taste but this one is different. It is so good it may even be a mistake to post it on the web for everyone to see and consequently copy. Just incredible.

The issue with think ford will make a mid engine super car if they already have one. The GT. So if they mad a cheaper alternative with similar power, it wouldn't really make sense.

Mustang predates the Camaro and is the only reason the Camaro exists. And it has never ceased production because people have always wanted one. Camaro disappeared for what, over a decade?
Sketch Monkey, this looks dope. Wasn’t sure if you’d be able to pull it off with how unapologetically muscley the new mustang is, and I’ve never been a huge fan of mid-engine but by-golly, this redesign looks awesome. Look like if an Audi became an American citizen and moved to Texas. Well done!

I began watching your channel a couple years ago. I've always been an automotive enthusiast. You inspired me to do my own renderings of various vehicles. I get a little better with each one I do. I post them on Facebook and have gotten some great reactions and feedback. I stay inside at home most of the time, especially during the winter months, due to a disability. It provides me with a much needed distraction from my everyday problems

I stayed home a lot as well sketching growing up in Sweden, those winters can be brutal! But, it got me sketching. Glad to hear you're keeping it up!
A great design interpretation. There are a couple of tweaks I would have made around the intake. I believe the line flow would be much improved if the B-pillar connects with the intake opening (shrinking the greenhouse slightly while also moving the intake a bit rearward). I also think the front is still sitting a bit too high and still has too much mass/overhang. But the rear has the appropriate mass and stance. Great effort!

Beautiful redesign!! The Mustang 1 concept was mid-engine with a V4. It's the reason that the hockey stick became such an important design feature for the Mustang even if its utility as a functional air duct was non existent on most models. My favorite mid-engine Mustang though is the Mach 40 by far. Such a beautiful car!!
That Mach 2 concept kind of looks like the GT40.

He forgot to change the black hood scoop thing and also figure out how the air will flow through the front grill while also creating a slit behind the front wheel well in the fender but mainly it doesn't need that big of a front grill if needed at all but maybe having air escape where the 5.0 emblem is moving it slightly forward and making the air that does come in from the grill escape through two vents that are parallel with each other on the hood coupled with a more aggressive lip on the bottom of the bumper would make a huge difference overall in terms of looks and functionality as for the rear a little more diffuser and perhaps improving the design of the rear windshield and top rear portion of it because it looks a bit funky in my opinion but besides that it's pretty good for a first rendition of the mid- engine design

Great work. It looks stunning I don't wish to be picky, however I feel you missed a treat using the GT intake on the quarter panel, the Mustang had its own design feature there for years. Maybe a V2 using the previous Mustang style vents in the quarter panel for engine cooling allowing a lower front profile and rear side windows for engine intake like the Cayman GT4RS/Singer DLS....... Just a thought......

I found that most mid-engine cars also dont have a front grill as well. Just the lower intake in the front bumper.
The grill is iconic in the new mustangs and gives brand identity: you notice this grill and immediately know it's a mustang. This is probably why he did not remove it and just made it smaller

I don’t think the Mustang will ever catch up with the C8 Corvette, unless they go down the road of basing it on the chassis and such of the Ford GT. A version of the Ford GT would be killer and I would definitely have one sitting in the garage right next to my C8 Z06.
I love it. I learned a lot just watching you work. How long did this take you to do? My only suggestion is the front end is still to high. I think you could have dropped it at least 3 more inches. I love how you did the wheels. That was cool. Congrats. Ford should just pay you. ;-)

I've got to admit this one is badass! Although the spider looks a lot like an R8. Not that that's a bad thing! I'm not sure if Ford would do this anytime soon, but it might be inevitable. The GT is WAY too expensive and if Ford really wants to compete with GM the Mustang needs to be a mid-engine car. After many months seeing the C8 and now the 24 Mustang, I don't think the Mustang as a mid-engine looking like this would be a considered an equal to the C8. I know SM didn't spend hundreds of hours redesigning the Mustang like Ford would do, but it needs more than this for me to think it could be an equal to the C8.
I don’t really like the big hole in the side, and it definitely needs a wing on it. Otherwise, it’s amazing like all your other amazing projects!

One quick heads up on the options, sadly I believe that the EcoBoost with the 6MT is no longer available, that engine will only be available with the 10spd AT. That's a real shame because the 2.3 has quite a bit of power, a lot less weight, and with the MT is quite fun to drive.
BTW you did a bang up job on this design, VERY nice.

I am not a CAD designer though always Sketched Car and Fighter Jets as a Kid.. Aerodynamically, the rear lost downforce on the Rear with your Design on the Intake... The Top Horizontal part of air intake on the Rear Quarter Panel in stock form is Functional Extra DownForce. You Eliminated the Ramp up Design from Ford.. Which is why I really like My 2022 Roush Mustang the Rear Quarter Panel act as a Wing for Rear Downforce. The only way your design would work is if on the Inside of the Intake it has Louvers at a 20 degree Angle to add even more downforce than before 🏎️🏁🚩👩🏻🚀. I studied Mechanical Engineering and worked in Aerospace all my life.. the Mustang GTD is going to have the S Ramp on the front where air ramps out from the Top of the Hood. Still with the Radiator, & intercoolers... 7 years ago I designed Off the S550 Mustang what Should be a Tuxedo Luxury Mid-Engine ThunderBird. Mind you this was prior to the C8 coming in. Historically, the ThunderBird (V8) was the Answer to C1 Corvette (6 Cylinder).

keeping the doors straight and adding an air intake over them is not quite an aesthetic choice; its like the mustang gained a foot in the rear width just to accomodate a transverse mid engine big block
I would like to see the front end even alittle shorter, but this is nice. Ford wouldn't have the balls to design this.

They should do this and call it the Thunderbird. It was originally meant to compete with the original Corvette, but as the Corvette became more sporty, the Thunderbird became more luxury, and then it just devolved into a weird, directionless mess in the late 70s and 80s. The early 00s reboot was okay, but they went a little too hard on the retro styling, and some of it looked really tacky, especially since a lot of it was plastic. This could be a serious rebirth for the badge, and since having at least one or two electric cars is somewhat inevitable, what better car to have an electric version of than the Thunderbird?
What about the Ford GT?

I think most of the car looks really interesting, but the nose is still way to bulky for me and just doesn't fit with a sleek mid engine car. I think it needs even more of slope. Again, just my opinion.

Can you design a mid engine Toyota Supra?
Honestly this is a pretty good idea, BUT it's not a Mustang, honestly if we were putting ideas around what ford should do is make a new Thunderbird to rival the Corvette, but here's the thing, what ford should've done is drop the 5.2L Voodoo engine into the Ford GT Supercar (preferably Twin-Turbo) here's the thing, the Ford GT will forever go down in history for what it is and what it's done, but the supercars of today are encroaching on what that little 3.5L Ecoboost can do, it's a hard competition and the money for spec is hurting in the GT Supercar department, you can get a Z06 for half the starting price and it's similar times, at its prime the GT was top of the line, but it's no longer it's prime and new stuff is catching up and if Ford makes a new thunderbird to rival the Vette it encroaches on GT Supercar Territory, sooo you're just under cutting it like Pontiac was going to do before Chevy pulled the rug and killed the Banshee, honestly what ford should've done was make the GT Supercar for 5 years like they've done and come back with the Voodoo vengeance, kill the SF90, destroy the C8 and it's z06, because the reality is the ZR1 is still inbound, then what
Instead of a midengined Mustang, try making a smaller, lighter Mustang without ruining the proportions.... Whilst still retaining the 5.0
If the Mustang could lose a quick 750 lbs, it would be an absolute killer...

Another fun fact, there was a sketch in the background of a ford ev presentation about a year ago. It's hard to make out the details, but it's clearly a mid engine car unlike anything ford is producing. Looks like a modern take on the original mustang concept. Hope they make it.
Not that it matters but If ford wanted to make a mustang with a supercar look they'd probably go with electric for the powertrain instead of mid-engined combustion engine.

while i do like how you've executed this, in my own opinion, i'm not quite sure the mustang suits the mid engined look. it's a good design but something just looks a bit off for me

Meh, the traditional competitor from Ford to the Corvette would be a T-Bird. Ford screwed up the reintroduction of the Thunderbird in the 2000's and it is a car that deserves a PROPER redesign and proper re-introduction. This is not the proper introduction for her return
