Technically, the Mustang is a Pony car, which is sort of a cross between a Sports car and a Muscle car. So, a sleeker/sportier appearance is ok and has been part of the Mustang's heritage.
Also, the interior is a callback to the Fox Body Mustangs of the 80's and early 90's.

I love what you did with the headlamps. Totally brings back the S197 vibe which is the best modern looking Mustang in my opinion. The size of the grille is the issue for me glad that you reduced it. For the lower part of the bumper I'm not entirely statisfied. I doesn't look bad but it could be implemented in a better way, I just dont know in what way. But overall in looks better than the current state, hopefully we could get something like this on its facelift

    • @the-ironclad

The headlamps are garbage. They look like honda accords. The previous generation mustang headlamps looked fierce and aggressive like that was unique to mustangs and if you see those headlamps, you knew it was a mustang that’s on you. It gives off that fuck around and find out energy, that aggressiveness. The headlamps are the eyes of the car and it just looks like every other modern day car. Also the body as well, just has the curves of a Camaro. I love mustangs and I love what they did with the interior and technology but the exterior is a huge downgrade imo

Absolutely. The 2015-2017 is king. The 2018 front headlight refresh was atrocious. The Shelby gt350 has the best overall design which is my dream car. This new one is good looking. @leofhr2966 ปีที่แล้ว +9

My idea of the perfect modern Mustang look is one that has all the best parts of the previous Mustangs that existed before and their details. The front end of the 2011-2014 era in my opinion looked the best not only because it brought back the old school Mustang look in the modern era (the 2005-2009 front end did it first), but because it was improved and also had variations with the bottom end of the front being for example the GT500 with it's connections making a hexagon like shape, or the other variation of the GT with the Darth Vader like look with a frown at the bottom, kinda like the Mitsubishi Evo X, the Skyline R34 also has a similar front (these are my favorite front ends of some of my fav cars that just look pissed off or cool) I love the big C/hockey stick in the side profile of those Mustangs, it gave it personality and the cars own identity and also made so designers could actually create cool looking stickers shaped around that deisng like the actual hockey stick sticker or the full long c shape sticker that ran across the whole door, they also made the intakes that opened up in the rear that looked cool (now reminds me of the Ford GT too modern and classic) I also loved the bog wide body kits that gave those lines even more accents, even the Need For Speed movie with that silver Mustang was awesome looking because of that. Love the pissed off looking front end. A modern version of the old school tailights mixed with modern tailights of the 2015 and even the S650 would look good. Interior design can go whatever direction as long as it's connected to a Mustangs identity with better quality and a clean look overall, that's the ultimate look of a modern yet retro classic Mustang for me.

Nice redo. Would be interesting to see what you would do on the Interior to have the new tech with the classic twin-cockpit design. Also interesting to see that with the front chin, you disconnected the lower splitters from the grill - I thought you usually wanted there to be a flow or connection between these lines - maybe you did this here because of the Pony car instead of Sports car mantra.

  • @leofhr2966
    @leofhr2966 ปีที่แล้ว +9

In my personal opinion I feel like the redesign wasn't an improvement in the end. Reasons why is because when looking at the points made earlier in the video like for example, the rear quarter panel line connecting to the front end headlights. That connection was ruined when the shape was changed pointing down instead of going with the connection it had before. The other redesigned part I didn't like was the "snake/cobra like fangs" at the bottom front end of the Mustang. I always thought that they look cooler at an angle, it actually looks like fangs and more like the previous Mustangs that have that cool front end look, making them straight looks like 2 buck teeth and kinda silly in my personal opinion. I do like the improvement of the grill itself tho, even tho it makes it look the same as the previous Mustang, but as they say, why fix what isn't broken. The rear end redesign from the previous video in my opinion was great, it could also look great if they made it look like the 2018 or the GT500 diffuser mixed with the S650 rear trunk and tailights angle, it looks super unique and cool and actually relates back to the old school Mustangs insane rear angle. I also agree about the side profile hockey stick design, that's one of the main design details I haven't seen in any other car as well as the Mustang and I miss it, it really gave the side profile a unique and cool look from top to bottom (I love the S550 line that runs with the front into the door handle and connects with the rear, so having the hockey stick design at the bottom connect it all would looks sick overall). Finally the interior, this part I have issues with deciding what I like, overall I don't mind, I just want a clean looking cool interior that's high quality, I will say the S650 has the clean and quality look, but it is missing the personal style, but then again, they did go for an actual Foxbody look so it's a lie to say that it doesn't have any relation to any previous Mustang at all. Still would love to see future designs have a better combination of that and simply keep the clean and quality grade with it.

Tbh I immediately fell in love with this mustang besides the rear tail lights, but ig its reminiscent of the angle the 68 fast back had that we all love. I’m of the belief that all cars have gotten too big and expensive. 30k for a base level 4 cylinder.
Technology that’s new is expected to be expensive, it’s a given. However, the mustang base trims are still proven tech made cheap through industrialization.
Adjusted for inflation, a base level 1965 mustang amounts to 25k today. Then again, safety laws are stringent to the point of costs, however, I’m still in belief of the suits who came through nepotism trying to jack up the price since selections of affordable sports/muscle cars are nigh extinct and legacy badges equals jack up prices.

@@genuinelyspoken6611 it looks older than the old model. And the interior 🤮 it’s lost a lot of the mustang trademarks.

I just bought a '23 Mach 1 because of the instrument panel on the '24. If I want a Tesla or Mercedes panorama of plastic I would buy one of those cars. I wanted a MUSTANG with traditional dash appearance.

I want one but 47k , and that's for the EcoBoost premium 2024 I'm good . They just don't have any where I'm at they are sold before they even get in . But if i can find one for around 30-36k . I would hop on it .

Could you show what a 2023 Mazdaspeed 3 would look like? It has to have a hood scoop. Also, a more aggressive front number would be cool.

the bezels are huge on those screens are huge, people are used to small bezels, wish the ones for the speedo were round or shaped to be more in tune with the design.

I was reading the reason why dodge doesn’t make v8 anymore is because their brand as a whole didn’t make the MPG requirements so they needed to become more fuel efficient. That’s why ford is able to continue. Their hybrid vehicles get good enough mpg where it balances out having some high output engines.

Is it strange that I should like the separate screens look better than the single curved screen? I prefer the speedometer being physically separate from the infotainment screen at all costs.

Hopefully Ford owners won't have problems with the full size screens after the warranty runs out. Hopefully Ford will offer extended warranties on these extras. I'm sure they won't be cheap replacements. Love the Mustang , always been a Ford fan.

I ownt a 2019 Mustang and IMO the facelift version looks more aggressive and less "chonky" compared to the pre-facelift design. I don't like super boxy cars (unless its a Challenger) so I definitely prefer sharper edges and some curves than just a big rectangle. I think the new S650 Mustang looks great from the front and the side, but man that rear is just too small. Like it doesn't look good, it looks like its downscaled and the car feels very front heavy because of that. I definitely prefer your redesign of the rear, but the front looks fine. Wish the "golf club" line was there though

Personally I love what they did with the exterior on the S650, but the interior even with the curved display is an absolute downgrade. I can’t wait for this big square stuck on screen fad to die in general so we can hopefully get back to more classically designed and pretty interiors
