I think if there is room, your feet have room to slide up when u stop, which can cause blister. So comfort + little to no room to slide are ideal :).

@@iamseraden5536 I think it depends on the type of the boot... Synthetic or leather. Synthetic boots fits fine if you have narrow long feet.. if you have wide feet leather boots fits better.
I would go into a shop and try on a bunch of different boots to see which ones fit the best. Some brands and materials fit different than others.

I rarely find a pair of boots I like to play with, it is really frustrating and expensive haha. I am a technical player, so I hate it if my boots are too big. I always buy my boots way too small, just to be sure they won't be too big. Do you have any tips, or maybe even some examples of boots that would be good
Depends on the shape of your foot vs the shape of the toebox too. Sometimes I'll find my big toe has quite a bit of space in front of it, but some of my smaller toes are right on the edge, and it would be a mistake to go down in size.

Exactly. I have long small fingers and I have to left some space between big and third finger of my feet because if not it will just smash to the front of the boot and will hurt my fingers and nails

my weak foot is way bigger than my strong right min half a size😅. I tried every high end boot this season and my right foot fitted in some boots but the left in none so i had to go up in size. Next time i am buying 2 pairs of takedowns

my problem with the mercurials is, that size 43 is too small (when I move the toes touch the fron of the boot and they start to hurt), but size 44 is already to big especially width wise. They really should add a 43 1/2 that would be perfect.

My toes weirdly curve up slightly at the end which means that half the time when I wear boots that are the right size, I end up getting screwed up big toe nails
Harry fam where cop mundials and get the smallest possible size that fits you more or less "properly" and once they're broken in you will have legitimately zero issue

Sounds like trying a boot with a bigger toe cap could help a lot. Puma has always worked fine with my bigger slanted toes.
The best amount of space to leave is no space at all but if you don’t have a lot of money you can go half a size up but you won’t do as well on the pitch. This happened to me so I’m torn on what to do

thanks man had to go true to size on the vapor 15 pro which is size 7 bc size 6.5 really too small but still have just a bit of room in the boots but they feel good on feet.

He could be right in some cases but for the Nike phantom visions. Those boots are the tightest boots I have ever worn. I've never had so much problems just putting them on. I was an 8.5 and had to move up to a 9.5 to not only make them fit but alsohave them feel comfortable. I always leave a thumb to leave enough room for double socks. The reason you should double sock is so your feet are not slipping or moving around inside the shoe. It adds more grip. Plus even if it's slightly bigger, it's not going to affect your kick.

The key words are personal tolerance. If the boots hurt too much where you can’t tolerate it, then it’s too small.
How about the boot thats need 2 sock and will burn ur feet while playing

I can tell you I leave SO MUCH space in my boots. I remember in training my shoe fell off and everyone started laughing. It happened AGAIN at training the next two days. My dad told me to stuff tissues in it but I said no because it was so uncomfortable. I asked for new ones but he said no, "the bigger they are the longer they'll last." He said. I wore those same boots to a match because they were my only pair. Can you guess what happened next? They fell off in the match😭😭 So embarrassing.

I have this issue especially since the vapor using the fly knit material .. I used to rock the vapor 11 size 9 suddenly when I bought the vapor 14 it was really big and roomy in the toe areas.. luckily I return the boots asap and go for 8.5 , it is pretty tight in the smaller toes on the sides but better than the previous one.

My foot resting and bushes back at the heel I can fit my full thumb but standing up half of my thumb. I prefer this as I usually wear 2 pairs of socks or thick socks

My left foot fits a UK 10 US 10.5 or 11 idk but my right foot fits the half size down to a UK 9.5 which is always fun
This is so hard, i recently wanted to buy a pair of astro turf boots, as a mum i end up kicking the ball about quite a bit with my boys and ive made a hole in my regular trainers because of it. I ordered a set of boots in my regular size (7) but they were too small, i order a couple of more different styles in size 8 and they still dont feel right, i dont think i am used to the low profile of the toe area and how that feels. I just purchased the Nike mercurial Vapor XIII academy multi ground cleats size 9.5. I based the size in other Nike and Adidas indoor shoes theyare a little big . I think I'm a size 9 in soccer cleats
My issue is that size 8 uk is too tight and my toes feel crushed. But size 8.5 uk are a tad spacious and have too much spare room at the top near the toe. I need like an 8.25 😂

I ordered hypervenoms, mercurials and premiers and every boot was perfect in width but there was so little space at the toes and it wasn‘t comfortable. Now i got tiempos and the fit perfectly.

Any advice on now to reduce heel slippage on the Copa 18.1? They fit me great I think it’s just a design flaw around the heel
I wouldn't say that heel slippage is a major issue with those specific boots, but depending on how they fit you specifically, your heel could slip. Something like Trusox would likely help with this issue.

It depends wat age u are if it a kid/early teenager u should go a half a size up if not full size up. I've been wearing the same mercurial for 2/3 years now I went a size up now there about a size to small I'll be sure to get new ones this Christmas and definitely a size up again

My advise is Just use CM for correct sizing for example my left & right foot length is 26,2 cm with socks,,so probably there are 2 possibilities size,, 26.5 cm (8.5 US) and 27 cm (9 US) for nike brand,,,after tried 26.5 cm (8.5 US) cm my feet feels hurt especially in heel area so after that i tried 27 cm (9 US) and my heel doesnt feels hurt anymore so basically i choose 27 cm (9 US) and that is perfect size to me,,

hello I hope you still see this even though the video is a little old. I just got a pair of vapor 13 and when I am sitting and not putting pressure on the cleats i have around a full thumb width space in the front but they fit well everywhere else. When i am on the cleats i have around half a thumbs width in the front. they feel tight everywhere else it’s just i have that little bit of space so i’m not sure if i should go a size down. I just got these in a size 10.5

yeah i had some cheap nike vortex (lowest takedown model of Vapor X) radiant reveal boots, but i left no space and it caused a lot of discomfort and my toe nail ended up turning bluish & falling off lolll it was painful but it was probably more bcus of the cheap quality, i feel like my current nemesis 17.1’s are a bit big bcus this time i went from size 9-9.5 and i don’t like having a lot of space
You aren't alone. I had some tiempo academys in a 9.5. They felt uncomfortable and my little toes were crushing. In a 10 I had about half an inch or slightly less at the end of my foot and it was much comfier
