I own one of these but the previous owner didn't take care of it at all. Replaced many parts now. At first I just considered it a temporary car until I could get a better one but I really fell in love with this model and plan to keep it. It has emotional value now since I've been thru so much with it. Some things are worth preserving.

What’s up brother, any suggestions on how to modify the Mazda 6 gs v6 2004?

Used to have one of these about 10 years ago……it was a 6s V6. Solid car never gave me trouble. Would definitely get another one this generation as a daily or work car.

I have the hatchback. Bought it in 20 with 84k miles for $4900, and i am still not disappointed 4 yrs later! Being in the northeast, I am unfortunately experiencing some wheelwell rot that i need to address, but otherwise, it was worth every penny!

That is Steel Grey, not Glacier Silver Metallic. I own a 2006 Glacier Silver Metallic, and it's a much lighter silver. I've owned mine since new, and it also has the V6 with manual transmission. Nice that you mentioned the engine is Porsche designed. Not many people know that. Porsche originally designed the engine for use in the original Boxster, but eventually went with a flat 6 instead so they sold the design to Ford. But only Ford used the full Porsche designed Duratec. Mazda designed their own heads for this application. This block is basically a bored out version of the 2.5 used in the SVT Contour, which was a fantastic car. I don't think that marbled look on the plastic shroud in the engine compartment was intentional. I think it was just how the unfinished plastic looked, lol.

The one I drive looks almost exactly the same. Also has a cold air intake and cat back. I've got leather seats and the middle brake light is on the trunk instead of spoiler. No door dents too but plenty of rock chips. Just got over 200K miles. I'm here because a rat chewed the cam sensor wires so I'm just browsing Mazda 6 videos. If you unplug and clean the connector for the clock it might work correctly again. I had a similar malfunction on the opposite side of that display and that fixed it. The door for the change holder should pop back into place I think mine has done that before when I took things apart. Things I've changed include both front wheel bearings, left front upper control arm, one coil, water pump (as precaution), was going to change starter brushes but they have more than half still left so I cleaned and reassembled, headliner, antenna, leak detection pump, clutch, radiator (early on), pulleys, and tensioner.

The one you have is the hatchback, and the one in the video is the sedan. That's why the brake lights are in different locations.

Where did you find your cat-back? I've been looking and I can't find a manufacturer that has them in stock anymore.

I just bought a 04 M6s and I’m wondering how much it would be to actually get a car like this stocked up? I hear you say 7 grand? Is that what I should go for?

I have the same kind of car in olive green metallic, one of the best sedans ever! Can you help me, i am missing something between the rear fender liner and the bumper, at the bottom behind the rear wheel, my bumper is flipping when i drive, there should be a plastic part closing the gape and holding the bumper, would really appreciate if you send a picture of it, trying to find this part for last 2 years, if there is a part code even better.

Someone broke the passenger mirror. One is black the other is grey. Only reason why I saw this is because my 6s had. A broken mirror and I replaced it. Lol
