I love what you've done there. I've definitely not seen any other V6 Mazda 6s or Ford Fusions with a turbo. I am very impressed that you had the confidence to take on a project like this and learn as you went. I would actually like to do sort-of a reverse swap to this, a V6 manual transmission swap from a Mazda 6 to a Ford Fusion. I currently own a 2.3l manual Fusion however would love to experience the V6 w/ a manual transmission. Unlike Mazda, Ford did not offer a V6 manual combo. I have driven a 1st gen, manual V6 Mazda 6 before though and loved it. Great job on the swap.

Yea, just gotta drop the bumper so you dont damage the paint. I remember how annoying taking off the bumper was though. We are still waiting for those 0-60 bids!
I love the Mazda blues. All of them. Back when I was looking at getting my Mazda6 (I have an '08) I was trying very hard to get it in this same blue as the video poster has here. Very rare color. Ended up settling for a shiny silver but I'll never forget that blue! However, I did get my hands on a Mazda3s (celestial blue) that I also have in the garage. It's an eye-catching color. Throughout the different generations of the 3 and 6 Mazda has done a great job of engineering some great colors!
Turbo on these car make them pretty damn fast I just raced one on a roll start. As soon as I heard the turbo start to build up I floored it and got the jump on him and beat him by a fender it was fun as hell.
Hey, I've been doing lots of research on the forums and it seems like your the Great NY as mentioned on most forums and I've heard you have a tuning option available for the car in order to do this turbo setup. Any chance your still selling the tuner for this car? I have an 04 v6 already ford fusion swapped and modified to the max essentially with basic performance mods and definitely looking to take it to the next level with a turbo setup, but require a tuning solution to do so. Thats really cool. Got a base 09, it has been the poster girl for "the lowest cost to own". Its not fast, but will move out better than 4 cyl accord or camery. Steering and balance is way better than all of them especially nissan. About to turn 100k and only maintenance so far has been serpentine belt, brakes, tires, fluid flushes and oil changes on point every 3000 miles. The key to the 2.5l 4 cyl is a 1:30 minute warm up till it idles good then go. And the critics complained about engine noise! Long distance high five mazda engineers!

I own a 2004 Mazda 6s with the 3..0L V6 engine utilizing the 5-speed manual transmission and the only things I have done are KYB shocks and struts, and Powerstop slotted and cross drilled rotors with ceramic brake pads front and back.

Yea its straight piped. I work really far and the original motor consumed lots of oil and I ended up running out of oil on the way home from work. Good excuse to upgrade your turbo too
brooklynzfinezt Dam, I had a close call with low oil on my V6. Lucky I didn't break something the way I drive. From then on I used a maintenance reminder app. I didn't know you could use fusion valve covers. I thought the oil pan, valve, and timing covers all had to be changed. Did you dyno it yet?
***** my mazda valve covers weren't in good shape so I had to use these. The wire to the coil had to be extended so I wouldn't recommend using these valve covers. I had it dyno'd yesterday and ill put a video up soon.

Thanks alot, I have seen alot better looking ones but this is deff one of the fastest, No the fabricator did all the work building the kit but I had to take apart all turbo components when I swapped the motor. So i got very familiar with it after having to swap the motor in myself and putting the whole turbo kit back together myself. Im no mechanic expert but when I want to do something I research and just go for it. I want to see alot more of these out there. when you say price range im guessing your asking how much was the turbo kit? its was $3500 without all the little things you'll need to having it run perfectly.
brooklynzfinezt Wow to be honest, for that type of turbo and what it is 3500 is alright. Ive seen people put way more money into their cars. I actually have a Mazda technician who does all the work on my car. Mine's an 04 also but i had a very light accident that jumbled up all the front end and i was going to through insurance issues so I didnt ask for help due to it being a 5-10mph. But actually ended up spending 3k on repairs and all the small things and now im barely finishing it up hopefully this weekend. Other than that i pretty much have everything brand new and re-did all the suspension work also. So I think im going save up a few months and slap a turbo. I do want to see more videos and hear more of that turbo!
I have videos but they wont be entertaining without editing (which I know nothing about). My job is very very time consuming so I still havent had time to do a 0 to 60. Plus I started boxing again and florida weather during the summer consists of everyday rain...there just arent enough hours in a day so im sorry for the wait. But I will get the videos up.
Yea it is very close to the turbo but I will be cutting a vent in the hood above that area to cool that pipe a little. Otherwise it has never damahed the pipe or anything
I know this is a very old video, but I am currently considering building a turbo v6, and I was wondering if you did any modifications to the fuel pump or injectors, and if you did what brand/part #. If you see this that would be great.
Its hard to answer these comments because in so busy and I sold this car a many man years ago and can barely remember what was done to it. The fuel pump was stop and the injectors were from a 2004 mustang cobra I believe..not sure if it was a cobra but I remember ordering them completely guessing they might work and somehow they did but the inector size was too big because I had to remove almost 100% fuel trim to not run rich. Your best bet is searching the forums
Man you need to get that car tuned it's going to be a night and day difference in the performance it will be incredible may be about five hundred dollars but trust me it's worth it look it up
