Great info. I sauté 10 veggies every morning and add flax and hemp seeds as well as 2 tlbs. of pumpkin seeds. Delicious! This has greatly reduced my inflammation, and helped me lose weight. I do add protein, whether it be an egg, or leftover meat from the night before. Nutritional yeast can be sprinkled on after you plate it. Balsamic vinegar is also very tasty sprinkled over this healthy breakfast. This is so filling because of the fibre that I do not feel the need for lunch at all. Supper for me happens at 3:30 in the afternoon.
I eat fresh vegetables ( lots), eggs, fish, some fruit but not too much, cheese, and moderate amounts of red meat and chicken. Sometimes a square or twonof over 70 % chocolate.
Yes, I have had a hip replacement and bone density issues. I now eat about 2 heaped tablespoons yoghurt daily. I agree that carbs for breakfast is a trap.. it sets up a daily carb craving. I avoid carbs for breakfast and, like you, I also eat eggs occasionally for breakfast.
You had me till plant based. As you age you need more protein- and animal protein has more of the necessary amino acids - especially needed when you fast.
