I literally do not know how she can sing Motion Sickness every time. Writing a song that reminds you of the abuse of an ex-loved one (especially emotional abuse) is one thing, but to it to become such a hit as a great song and having to perform it over and over....
Maybe she is able to find purpose in her suffering through the song. It's amazing. That song means so much to so many people and maybe that's what makes it worth it for her.
I think maybe the song might have been therapeutic for her to write most musicians i know (myself included) have said that writing music is a really great emotional outlet so I guess that’s maybe why she can perform that song
the way she holds herself when she performs freezes me in my tracks. her songs are so deep and melancholy but she sings them in such an open vulnerable way if that makes sense.

But going public like this is not cool. You open up to a situation where people are getting maligned by crazy amounts of people with no relation or knowlegde about the situation. One could probably say that Phoebe got a lot out of that relationship, that prevented her from ending it when she should have. - But now I'm speculating about other people's relationship, that we know nothing about, and frankly I don't want to think about Ryan Adams when I hear that song...
