I had a 2020 Silverado LTZ w/6.2L for 3 years, and never had any issues with it. Now I have a 2023 Silverado ZR2 w/6.2L, and an 8-inch lift rolling on 37's, with 24k miles, and still no issues at all. Either I'm super lucky, or these supposed issues aren't as common as TH-cam would make you believe.

I used to work the assembly line for GM and i can tell you straight up they don't care. Their EXACT words during a meeting were "As long as the vehicle looks good inside and out to the customer that's all we really care about". I was shocked when I heard that. these new cars cost so much but are so cheaply put together its not even funny. I'm slowly switching my fleet back towards 90's vehicles there is a reason they are still around almost 30 years later

Turn on the ignition without starting the engine. With your foot off the brake pedal, press and hold ENGINE START/ STOP for five seconds until the green light comes on the button is illuminated. See Ignition Positions 0 Pg 219.

Love your vids. Thanks for letting us ride along. I know it's not always convenient on the job, but I did notice you have a nice phone with you. I googled "gmc truck into neutral" and got immediate results. Owner's manuals also identify "service mode" instructions.
Press and hold the start/stop button with key fob with you and foot off the brake pedal for 3-5 sec. lights on your dashboard will flash and your truck will go into ACC mode now you can move the gear lever to neutral by pressing on the brake and shifting to neutral.
From owners manual. Service Mode This power mode is available for service and diagnostics, and to verify the proper operation of the malfunction indicator lamp as may be required for emission inspection purposes. With the vehicle off, and the brake pedal not applied, pressing and holding the button for more than five seconds will place the vehicle in Service Mode. The instruments and audio systems will operate as they do when the ignition is on, but the vehicle will not be able to be driven. The engine will not start in Service Mode. Press the button again to turn the ignition off.

We were out shopping and someone had a yukon die in the middle of a busy intersection. There was a decent slope - so I jumped out, told her let's find the neutral switch get the thing rolled away. 5 minutes later and SHOCKED to find out there is zero easy way to put these newer GMs into neutral. I ended up getting the thing to start and barely run and got it out of the intersection. But very, very surprised that you can't put a newer GM into any sort of neutral mode.

Just so you are aware, even tho you have an actual shifter, it is still electronically controlled. The shifter in your traverse is not connected to the transmission at all, instead it is connected to a module which then tells the transmission which gear you selected, just instead of using buttons. It is using a shifter.

My 2017 Silverado 2500 Duramax with 80k miles just had the same problem. Same part (fuel pump control module) went out. It's on nationwide back order and no new ones are available. Shop found a used one in Missouri and had it overnighted. I ordered one just to have a spare. No telling when I might get it.
